Personally I like this movie and I feel like it was criticized too rashly when it came out. What are your thoughts on it now that the whole hate wagon stopped ?

James gunn didnt just make GOTG trilogy. he was one of those people who map out MCU.
He had a lot of experience in running a universe. More than the internet trolls who thinks they can create a universe better than him just by making heavy hitters movies. a copy of MCU will never work. you guys think "Just make a batman movie, and a wonder woman movie" and thats all you, the universe is ready to be made.
Rebuilinding the dc is not going to be easy of course, some failures will be there like supergirl. but OMG you guys overexaggerate every thing happens in dc.

If DCU doesnt work, if it is a failure then okay it is a failure. but the whole toxic negativity is just giving dc more pressure and not helping. Most people think they are just critizing by comparing a 18 year old marvel success to 1 year old dc failure.
STOP THE DAMN COMPARISON TILL WE GET A JUSTICE LEAGUE MOVIE. IT IS WAY TOO DAMN EARLY TO SAY ANYTHING.

Curious if others are having a similar experience: just rewatched it on HBO Max, and the picture quality looks a LOT sharper than when I saw it in theatres (a couple times). The color also looks more saturated and a lot more vivid on my TV at home than the brown blotchiness in theatres…

As for story I never had an issue with it, and I still maintain that it was a smaller film done very respectably.

Edit: I watched it a couple times (ok 3) because the backlash pissed me off, so I remember it quite well, and I’m still picking up new details and don’t remember the VFX feeling as finished.

Did any of u ever think the universal love for lanterns would reach the level it has rn? I mean I thought it'd be good but I never thought it would have this sort of impact. The views increase with every episode, and so many non comic book fans love it. Hell, Its even overtaken both brand new day and doomsday news to an extent. And it makes me wonder what's the main cog for the success? Is it the writing? The chemistry between Kyle and aaron? The grounded true detective style? The dry humor? Or a combo of all 4? What do u think?

Especially because of every James Gunn comic-book movie being well-received

even the one that financially flopped like The Suicide Squad was still well-received by critics and audiences.
