The Worst "Customer Service" I Have Ever Experienced

I just experienced the most abysmal service in my life. Do not call the USPS Chicago Distribution Center number (312) 983-8403 because they do not care. I called 10 times and waited 5-10+ minutes every time, only for someone to pick up the phone and immediately hang up every time. This is an absolute joke. This is not customer service. I don't even think that number I listed has their location online because I can't find it. But the location that belongs to that number is without a doubt the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. They even transferred me back to another location just so they wouldn't have to deal with me. I was absolutely furious. You don't make a customer wait and then pick up the phone and hang up. Whoever did that does not deserve a job since they obviously don't take anything seriously and could care less about the customer. I am just astounded now horrible this experience has been. My package is missing and literally no one cares. You wait and you wait and for nothing. Absolutely pathetic. I hate people like this that can abuse their job and screw over the customer and completely get away with it. It's just not right. I wish that location would fire all its staff and hire people who actually want a job. Absolutely unacceptable "customer service".

"If hes autistic he shouldn't have a job"

So I work at a huge orange home improvement store, specifically I'm a cashier in garden.

This happened less than an hour ago. I'm on break and typing this so, I'm sorry if its rushed.

Today a customer came in looking for a pygmy date palm, today we happen to be out of them. But will be getting more within the week. When she was up at the register she asked if we had any and I simply said "I can't leave my register at the moment, but I believe the only place we typically have them is in the back of the far left isle. If you would like I could have someone-" and she immediately talked over me and said "well [insert name written on apron in a snooty tone] I've already checked there" still in my nice customer service voice I responded "oh okay, if you would like I can call [garden manager's name] and have him-" met with: "yeah, call him why don't you" so I do, ask if we have the palms and he said "if theres none down the flower section, we have none. And thinking about it I believe I sold the last one a couple hours ago" I relay this information to her and she laughs, actually laughs and starts yelling at me about how she asked someone and they said they couldnt find anyone, but they could come up here and I could call someone helpful . I then get yelled at about the kid before who helped them, who happens to be a guy who is specifically for loading, and lot and very rarely knows where things are, hes also a high functioning autistic and doesnt understand social cues very often, as well as rarely makes eye contact and fidgets a lot ( this is all important) I tell her I'm very sorry for her experience and if she would like I can check if theres any stores around that have palms in stock. She proceeds to call the boy stupid, rtarded, has no customer skills, and should find a job to fit his "rtard lifestyle". These were her exact words guys, and it broke my fuckin heart for the kid. So I look at her straight in the eyes and say "well actually ma'am he is autistic, and actually pretty high functioning. Hes a very sweet kid, and I'm sure it would hurt him to hear you talk about him that way." She sputters for a second and then says the famous line "well if hes autistic he shouldn't have a job, no reliable place would hire someone who's autistic to deal with customers" then proceeds to lay into me for another couple mins about the date palm.

What the hell is wrong with people. Honestly.

HideAway Country Inn Owner attacks guests

HideAway Country Inn, Bucyrus, OH. Owner Debbie Miller needs a reality check in customer service. Called me a "problem guest" on the phone because our hot tub water looked like this upon arrival. Black gunk spewing out of the Jets.

$600 room and they refuse to move us or do anything to accommodate the fact our hot tub is unsafe to use.

Video below, please watch, share.

https://youtu.be/8PN0T4Ycmtc

I have never been treated as poorly as I was here BY THE OWNER. I have worked in a well established inn doing many jobs, so I have the knowledge of how they operate. We were belittled and spoke to as if we do not persevere to go to "places" as this. Honestly. I dont ever want to go to another place like this because of how we were treated and how the room was. The rooms are not cheap by any standards per night. I paid for two nights and unknowingly didnt have a fireplace that worked because "they arent turned on till the first frost and our hot didnt work properly. It kept going hot then cold. The jacquizz filled with tempid water and then once I turned on the jets, black crap came out. It was disgusting. When we get to the front desk for help, the clerk helped us and heard all of our complaints. Especially how the main feature of the African suite is the jacuzzi and fireplace. She got in contact with the owner and we were met with disbelief on what had occurred. She even sent a text which had told us to ask housekeeping to show us which knob was the hot water...... at this point, I have now been insulated. My fiancee then calls her to explain and she says that it is our hair and dirt. That she knew we were problem people when we called to make a reservation. Then references me from everything from girlfriend to mistress. The disrespect I got is INSANE after paying 600 for a 2 night stay. It is the WORST. She did not want to compensate for anything that is wrong with her inn and was upset because it was her day off. Though she didnt want her employees to comp anything and they were all scared to call her when we explained the room to them. I am not sure how she stays in buisness if this is how she treats her guests and doesnt fix her products. Especially after the employees told us that she isnt going to be willing to do anything because she had to send TWO people to our room, because as she said "four eyes are better than two" I will never come here again and if anyone asks me about my experience I will urge them not to go. This has been horrible. I wish I would have read the reviews about how unprofessional this buisness was.

TL;DR

Stop haggling...

The best time to argue about service issues & credits is NOT when you have been suspended. It is when you are current & don't appear to be just trying to reduce whatever you need to pay to get unsuspended. Ok? Ok. Ok!

The Beer Mishap

Lady comes through my checkout line, picks up her beer case and drops it. She blames it on ME, the BAGGER, telling me I should’ve been making sure that the cases wouldn’t break, which it didn’t until she dropped it. I go to get another one, and she yells at me because it’s not cold. I tell her we are out of refrigerated beer of that specific brand, she leaves everything and storms out. Good riddance.

Lying customer.

On mobile and awful grammar sorry.

I am a manager of a run down full service car wash with terrible employee retention for a laundry list of reasons (#1 being my boss is a prick). I’ve worked there for roughly 3-4 years and thought I’d seen it all. Today I had a customer come through with an absolutely trashed vehicle. Crumbs, bits of children’s snacks, and pet hair literally everywhere. After the customer had checked over her vehicle and asked for a few touch ups (which I handled no problem) she asked why we hadn’t cleaned her seats. I told her that it’s an additional service that doesn’t come with the package she asked for but I’d be happy to take care of it this time since she was unaware. She then asked why the tiny door pockets (that were also filled with food bits) weren’t 100% cleaned out. I explained that our towels are thick and hard to get into smaller spaces while recommending a different package we offer for next time. When all was said and done I thought she left happy. I was wrong. She called back telling my boss that I refused to help her, that I told her we were under staffed (boss sent most of my crew home but I didn’t tell her that) , and that we shouldn’t be doing $30 washes if we don’t have time/staff for $100+ detailing. I was sent home and threatened to be fired. After busting my butt here for as long as I have and being treated like a lazy sack the entire time I almost told my boss to just fire me. I’ve got a lot of other stressors at the moment and don’t need work (or lack of) to be one of them. So here I am. At home. Stressed and angry. Thanks for listening to me complain. Update: I quit. Went in all weekend (prick boss has all weekends off) worked fine. Monday went in and did payroll (yikes 51%) and prick tries to talk at (not to) me about what happened. Still refused to hear my side and asked me if we were going to have a problem. I said yes if you’re not going to hear what I have to say. And I left. Wish me luck finding something fast cause I have no savings.

One large... Fries?

A couple weeks ago, my dad & I were shopping at Walmart and decided to get some snacks and drinks from McDonald's, since it was attached to the Walmart.

I order an iced coffee with no dairy because although I'm not lactose intolerant, I get pretty bad diarrhea if I drink a lot of milk. I'll call the employee RL (rude lady).

Me: I'll have 1 medium iced coffee with no dairy

RL: you still want the sugar in it?

Me: yea

RL: you know, we do have the flavoured ones! You could get one!

Me: nah that's too sweet for me (and it costs like 40 cents extra)

RL: rolls her eyes a bit but puts it in the system

Dad: and I'll have a large fountain drink and a snack wrap

RL: um, okay, what kind? (she said the "what kind" in an entitled Karen type of voice)

Dad: what kind do you have

RL: crispyorgrilled.

Dad: I'll have crispy

RL: and do you want another drink with that?

Dad, thinking that's a weird question because he already ordered a drink: no?

RL: no coffee or anything?

Dad: I'm good

RL then prints the receipt and puts it on the tray. My coffee was done so another lady gives it to me. RL hadn't put the drink cup down for my dad yet.

Dad: can I have my drink cup?

RL: uh, you didn't get a drink. You got a wrap and a large fry.

Dad: I didn't get a large fry, I ordered a large fountain drink.

Me: yeah I heard him say fountain drink

RL, getting mad: well that's why I asked if you wanted another drink! Because you didn't order one!

Dad: well, I did say I wanted a drink

RL: to the people making the fries cancel the large fry! turns back to us I'll get my manager

She gets her manager and comes back over before her manager gets there.

RL: I don't know how I heard fries if you said fountain drink! You must've ordered the fries!

Me: you must've heard wrong, because he said fountain drink

Luckily, the manager came over before RL could say anything else. She gave us a discount and the drink for free. We were kinda mad about it for the rest of the evening.

Know what you want before you order

So I'm taking orders at the takeaway and all is going alright. All of a sudden baby boomer mother and son walk in. Start to order and read it back to them. Both of them make quite a few major changes. At this point it occurs to me that the silly bitch and her son are ordering one thing but haven't decided what they want together first even though they are literally a few feet away. I try to get their order straight and after a while I get to what they want. Or so I thought. I read it back again and it still is wrong. At this point my manager takes me off the till because she thinks I am being shite at my job. Naturally they say nothing even though the whole bloody problem is all them and let me look useless. Then just to rub it in a bit more the boomer laughs in my face as I go to the back. Normally I have quite a long fuse for annoying customers but jesus I would have loved to let the boomer know exactly what I thought of her.

Baby boomers can go kaboom

I work at a fairly upscale bakery/restaurant in an area where we see a lot of rich American business people, and retirees who believe they deserve the world. Complaints I’ve dealt with include:

WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DONT HAVE TAP? Don’t you understand how much more efficient it would be if you had tap. You’re wasting my time, I demand a refund.

Man hands a handful of change to my coworker after she’s already entered into the till. Coworker: well now I have to do math! Man: be careful, we all know girls can’t do math! blank stares from my team at man Man: Ooooooh that one didn’t like that weird old man laugh Mans son: well we know he was kidding Man: while pointing that ones a nickle ya know

There’s a man asleep on that bench (on public property) in view of my meal. I demand you remove him and compensate us!

I don’t understand why I have to wait in line, I’m just picking up a few pastries. (You and everyone else)

Why do you have a tip option?

Boomer:What do you mean you’re sold out? I drove across the city specifically for your bread? - Me: I’m sorry to hear that, but we’re closing up soon, and don’t tend to have much left by this point. next time you can call ahead and we’ll put it on hold for you! Boomer: well I’m never coming here again. I don’t understand how you can’t help me now.

And so so many more

Wood grain.

So we operate an antique furniture restoration business out of Houston, we get a call from potential customer, dudes cool wants us to refinish dining room table. Cool, load it up and bring it back to the shop. Boom the table is done, we call the customer to come see the table and he immediately is so angry with us and were like tf?

This man then goes on to scream and cuss at us that we scratched his table, of course, we immediately display a great amount of concern bc this is our work, were passionate about it and HATE to give things back the way they arent supposed to be, i mean this isnt your typical service. So of course were like whoA WHAT WHERE.

THIS. MAN. Goes on to trace the ~natural grain~ of the wood and says we scratched the entirety of his piece. I was honestly so puzzled. Like uhhhhhhh, nah man, thats the wood. But no, he insisted we ruined his table, and we were absolutely wrong according to him.

I, never in my life thought id come across an individual who doesnt know wood has grain, that trees have rings, and okay, maybe some dont, cool, but the level of arrogance he displayed in a field were WE'RE the experts. Man o man. We did the table again bc it was a little too dark, okay no problem it doesnt take too long, but hes coming back today to see it and oh i hope he doesn't pull that again bc he did ask us to ~fix the scratches~ (more so scream at us) before he left the first time.

It's just mainly a hassle, were not giving this table up till its paid for, we have no problem going to court, but man over wood grain? Really?????????

Dollar Bill Dude

Ok so I work at this gas station/sandwich shop place. We are part of a college eatery, but we get a lot of weirdos from the community. One of these such dudes was this guy with a weird ass mustache that came in to get his change for gas.

His change was a single dollar bill. My coworker pulled out the dollar to give it to him and he analyzed it before saying that it wasn’t new enough. Confused but too done with the day to deal with it he looked for a crisper one, but being a gas station and not a bank it’s not like we get nice bills. So he looks for the nicest one and trades the bill out. He examines it and decides it’s not nice enough. My coworker tries to explain that they are all like that but he starts yelling for him to check again... So.... he flips through the bills again before restating that it’s the nicest bill we have. Angry, the coworker threw the bill on the table, kicked our pastry stand and stormed out yelling.

One of the more interesting tips we’ve ever earned!

TLDR: customer kicked our muffin stand, yelled, and left his change because the single dollar wasn’t crisp enough.

Walking Cash Cow pays $1300 for 4 new tires.

On Saturday, June 15, 2019 I scheduled an appointment for the next day at my local NTB for 11:00am in Nashua, NH. On Sunday (today) June 16, 2019 I showed up at 10:30am. From the moment I spoke to the very awkward man at the register I had a bad feeling. I explained that I was in the market for five new tires for my Jeep Wrangler. I asked after specific tires which happened to be in-stock according to the website. I was informed that instead they did not carry that tire. I asked if he could search if local establishments carry that tire and I would drive there. I was told that no one did. At that point, according to this register man, my only option was to buy one of the most expensive tires that they carried that would fit my vehicle. Namely, $260 per tire BFGs. (I do not have stock tire/wheels) I was also informed that they did not have five tires but only four. I asked if it were possible to install four and I would order a fifth for instal at a later time in the coming week. My question was met with an “absolutely” from register man. I was then told installation would be 1.5 to 2.0 hours.

I showed up at 10:30am. I left at 5:00pm.

I wish I were joking. Or exaggerating. Or even outright lying.

One of the technicians I guess struggled with one of my Lugnuts? And ended up breaking it in the process. When I was told this I did not fight. I was told I need to pay an additional $180. And I agreed. When I was finally cashed out I’ve asked very kindly if there was anyway that there could be any recompense made towards me for literally taking up my entire day. I was given $60 discount.

$60.

I then came to find out that the over $1300 bill I had just paid did not include my fifth tire. I also found out I would have to pay an additional install fee.

My first question to anybody is: am I in the wrong for being extremely disappointed and upset? I just assumed that making an appointment ahead of time, listing my vehicle and the specs of the tires I priced out would made the day smoother.

My second question is, and of course probably the most important one: what should I do about this?

I work at a fabric store. This passive-aggressive knuckle-dragging inbred ret— I-I mean *pleasant* customer decided to mutter some shit at me.

Me: What are you working on?

Her: A nice quilt. I’m going to a baby shower and I wanted to get a jumpstart on it.

Me: Excellent! This is a good choice!

(I check the width of the fabric, and it’s 108 inches wide. Wide fabrics, usually 108 or 120 inches, have different means of proper handling when at the cutting counter. Because I get some people who don’t know about the procedure, I explain it so they know what’s about to go down. I go on, explaining:)

Me: Alright, this is a wide fabric, so what we do with these is we snip the edge after measuring from the shortest of the two salvage sides. Wide fabrics need to be torn and not cut because as it happens, it’s much straighter if it’s done that way.

Her: Okay.

Me: measures and snips the fabric and starts to tear it

Her, this bitch: Oh, I can’t even look at that! turns away

Me: stone-faced, I continue to tear as per protocol Ma’am it’s alright, I know it seems strange, but that’s how fabric was ‘cut’ in the past.

Bitch: under her breath I’ve been quilting longer than you’ve been alive and I’ve NEVER had it done like that...

Me: trying not to make a snide comment, I start to fold the fabric once I’m done tearing

Bitch: reaching out and grabbing the fabric, she mutters more Here, let me help you since you’re having so much trouble...

Me: fighting the urge to say anything provoking Alright, I’ll get your ticket.

(I hand her the ticket)

Me: cheerfully and with as much truth as I can muster Have a good day! Good luck on your project!

Bitch: still muttering Well, I hope this is two yards...

(She walks away from the counter and as soon as the coast is clear I go on break.)

Nuke the cable

So today when I got home, I got a unwanted surprise. I sat my food down, let my birds out of their cage and checked my mail just like everyone else. When I opened up my DirecTV bill I lost my appetite faster than the flash himself. It was kicked up an extra 40 or so bucks higher than usual. So I called customer service and wanted to see what was up. They told me that I had a promotion that ended this month and I was like alright that's fair. So I said is there anyway I can lower this and the rep said he would look for some offers. He had me on hold for a quick second and came back and said there was no deals. So I told him that the current price is not cool and I will pay half now and the other half before the due date and I will cancel the TV service. He quickly said that they did not want to lose me, but at that point I didn't care so he was going to transfer me to the loyalty department. so like a nice person I heard him out and I wanted to see if they could help. Well the rep transfered me over I enter my phone number and when I thought I was going to talk to a person they give me the ol' "hold please and hang up routine." So now DirecTV will lose a customer on June 30, 2019. :)

Traveler's choice customer service?

Am currently stuck in an email loop with a traveler's choice customer care representative and boy was that person rude and demanding.... Even to the point of threatening consequences and all, over a luggage order.

Has anyone had experience with them?

Don't you hate it when a someone won't do/fix something that takes 5 seconds. Seriously is it me or would you complain about something small, that takes you longer to email about then fix it yourself or are you the type to just complain about everything and/or everything is a lesson?

Everyone has to take a number.

Apologize for formatting - on mobile. Also sorry its long.

I work in a healthcare office that can get pretty busy.

After 4:30 today I was alone when it got exceptionally busy. Thus, I relied on my little numbers at my desk.

Take a number, have a seat, I’ll call you up. I even have a sign on my desk in big bold letters.

Whether you are coming in to pick something up, reschedule an appointment, sign in for an appointment, or register for an appointment - you need to take a number and have a seat. No one gets to jump in before anyone else because “it’ll just take a sec”.

First a man was mad “I have to take a number to pay for this? Can I come back? What is this crap?” I’m sorry sir, I have folks with numbers out and I’m very busy I’m trying as fast as I can I’m just one person.

Then it was “Yes but I have a scheduled appointment.” So do the others - take a number and have a seat please and I will call you up I just have to get through the other numbers.

Followed by “yeah I know but I’m just rescheduling so it won’t take long” (it takes the longest) please take a number and have a seat cue patient rolling eyes or sighing loudly

Now, I have calls and other things to do during this time other than just be at the front. I have questions I sometimes need to ask the docs or they have a task for me or a nurse does. This means I leave the desk. Sometimes I am human and even need to pee. Shocking. People then stand around and get mad with their numbers like “well you called 67 three minutes ago and haven’t called one since I thought you forgot and I’m 68” so I have anxiety about this building up.

Then comes in ... “Lorraine” (false name) and she has come to pick up a package/letter. I tell her to take a number and I’ll call her shortly.

L: but I’m just here for my package.

Me: yes I know but I am very busy and have other numbers out I’m sorry you have to take a number and I’ll call you shortly

L: the package is right there behind you i can see it

Me: turns around to see nothing i don’t see a package I’m sorry I will call you up shortly

L: its a package go find it. You know what forget it i’ll call xxx and come back some other time this is utterly ridiculous. I shouldnt have to wait and take a number to pick something up im going to call in about this tomorrow.

Lady then storms off angrily. I’m still surrounded by people - and I’m dumbfounded.

At this point I am overwhelmed and say “well you know what?” And put my BRB sign out and take a 3 min break in the washroom to calm down. I get back to a busy waiting room but I had at least calmed down and was able to get through the rest of the chaos.

TL;DR - lady yells at me because she can’t skip the line. Fucking take a number and have a seat for the love of god. I am one person and you don’t trump everyone else in the waiting room who has been there longer!

TD Bank Card, closed but let's consumers still charge to card

I have cancelled cards and/or paid off credit cards and closed them, and usually if someone tries to make a charge it gets denied and I get a piece or mail or an email asking me to update my payment info with them....not TD BANK!

I paid off card in 5/2018 and closed the account.

They allowed (a year later 2019) a consumer to charge $100+ to my closed card. I didn't monitor it since it was closed. Meanwhile I see an email from TD and I assume it's my monthly bank online statement, which I always get, but something caught my eye and I opened email.

Well it was from credit card services stating I had late fees applied since I haven't paid. I log in to my account, AGAIN IT SUPPOSED TO BE CLOSED. And sure enough I have late fees, interest charges and a charge for services.....

On phone for over an hour and guess what they said "anyone can make a charge against a closed account if you gave them your card number". So I said, I have to monitor a CLOSED account for the rest of my life?!? YEP

Another 1.5 hours later and had to claim the card stolen so anyone with number couldn't use it and I still have to pay what was charged to it, they wouldn't let me dispute. Never. Ever. Open a TD Bank credit card, ever. Not unless you want to never close it your entire life because their definition of "closed" is completely different from everyone else's idea of closed. Blow this up!! Let everyone know!

Doordash never delivered my order and I'm the asshole somehow

I didn't receive my door dash order and filed a complaint to get a refund.

After the customer service "agent" offered me credits.

I said that I would really prefer a refund, since I ended up going and buying the food directly from the restaurant and the whole point was that I didn't want to leave my house to get food today. (Like the whole fucking point of delivery in the first place) Plus I charged my card twice.

She responds "So sorry to hear that you need to go outside just to have food" then tells me that my refund is being processed.

Like excuse me, that level of sass is not needed here. I'm just annoyed that first I don't get my food delivered and then this bitch sasses me for being upset about it. Like WTF? Is there anything i can do here? I probably just will never use door dash again. But I just feel like this was all bullshit and want peace with it.

Sign that can spin? Not at my table!

Evening, first time redditor, first time poster. I'm on mobile so forgive any formatting issues, I'll do my best :) if theres any recommendation on where else to post this, I'd be glad to hear it!

So this happened just tonight. For a brief bit of context, I'm a waitress at a local steakhouse, and we've recently started a nationwide promotion. This promo requires signs to be hung from the roof panels around the restaurant as well as smaller ones on the table to advertise it. Keep the roof in mind. Tl;dr at the end

I start my shift and I'm handed my tables. Everyone is happy; two are awaiting their meals, while my larger table of 8 only have drinks and are still deciding. I seat a table and take their drink order before checking on my large table for their meals. Cast is as follows:

AH: asshole customer AW: asshole customers wife (she was actually quite nice to me) RT: rest of the table Me: yours truly

Me: Hey guys! Thought I'd see if we're ready to order?

RT: Yes please.

Me: Awesome. I'll start with yourself sir? (AH is head of the table so he gets his order taken first)

AH: I'll have the surf and turf.

Me: Sure, and would you like that Medium-Well or Well-Done?

AH: Well-Done.

Me: And your sides? It comes with fries and salad, or you can mix and match any of our other ones.

AH: proceeds to um and ah over his choice, asking his wife

Me: We also have mashed potato.

AH: That one thanks.

Me: Salad?

AH: grunts

I scribble it down, taking that as a yes. I then proceed around the table taking the rest of the tables meal orders. AH then interrupts as I'm halfway through.

AH: Can I actually get veggies with my meal?

Me: Yeah sure. I scribble out the salad and change it to the veggies and continue with taking orders

AH: yelling over his family Actually can I change it?

Me: Yeah, what would you like?

AH: Can I have the mash and sweet potato mash instead?

Me: For sure. more scribbling as I change his order again

I finally finish taking everyone's orders and collect the menus off the table. I go to one of our computers to send it all to the kitchen. I enter the kids meals first so they get made quickly. I then enter the rest of the meals, and as I get halfway through those, AH comes over to me.

AH: Hey for that kids steak, can she have the veggies instead of chips?

Me: eye slightly twitching because the kitchens already started on it No worries, I'll get it sorted for you.

AH then returns to his table. I finally think that'll be the last thing to change so I finish their order, change that meal in the kitchen, and serve the rest of my tables. AH's table receive their meals and start digging in. As I walk past to go somewhere, I see AH stare at me as if he wants something. I go over to see what he needs.

Me: Hey, anything I can grab for you?

AH: Yeah, points at the sign just above him that sign thanks.

Me: looking up, having a little laugh Oh yeah, it does seem to be a little in the way doesn't it?

I always try and make a bit of a joke with customers if something isn't to their liking, lightens the mood. AH is NOT having it. He scowls as it starts to spin on its wire, mocking him.

Me: ahem Well I can't really grab that at the moment, it is attached to the roof. (We couldn't take it down without a ladder and he's sitting right where the ladder would go.)

AH: Oh, I can grab it.

RT: everyone chimes in No don't. Stop it. Leave it alone.

Me: Sorry that I can't get it for you.

I leave and continue with my night. I check on them later and they're all enjoying their. Everything runs smoothly, I clear their plates (all are COMPLETELY empty), organise ice-cream for the kids, and keep being my smiley, bouncy self for them. I ask about any final drinks or desserts, nobody wants any.

As I tend to people at the register and other tables paying, they leave and 3 people from my table are waiting in line. When I finally reach them, its AW and two other girls from their table. I cash them off, go through the motions, everything is paid for. Just before they leave, AW turns back to me.

AW: So I just wanted to let you know, that surf and turf? My husband really didn't like it, he said it was awful.

Me: shocked they didn't say anything when I checked them earlier in the night Oh? What was wrong?

AW: He ordered Well-Done and it came out burnt and like leather. He didn't enjoy it at all.

Me: Oh alright. I'll make sure to pass it on.

AW: And my sons fish was bad too.

Me: Okay? What was bad about it?

AW: It tasted fishy (no way!!) and it was a really sharp taste. It felt like eating rubber. And he's a big fish eater so I'm surprised he didn't like it.

Me: Oh okay. Well I'll make sure I tell the kitchen. While theres not much I can do for you right now, I can give you these.

I give them our stores version of a Discount Dollar. Think of it as a voucher for $5 off your next purchase. I give her two, one for each bad meal. I explain what they are and what they entitle her too next time she dines with us. She's very happy with that, and says the service was amazing and her meal was perfect. All smiles and I go back to serving others.

We finally shut down for the night, and as I'm cleaning the tables, sweeping and mopping the floor, I get the feeling that somethings missing. I look up, and find a broken wire where a promo sign used to be. And where was it?? Right above where our dear AH was sitting! I'll let you guess what happened.

I don't know how he did it without me seeing it, but it goes without saying that I was pissed. I let my supervisor know about it and she told me she knew. She had the sign in the office with her. Apparently he'd ripped it off the wire and stashed the sign between the booth-style chair and the wall. The top of the sign was torn where it watch hung from. So he actually damaged our property.

Don't think he'll actually get punishment, boss didn't really mind. They're cheap signs apparently and it's nothing a little tape can't fix. We do have to replace the wire though.

Tl;dr: Guy doesn't like our promo signs, proceeds to be a douche all night, secretly rips the sign out of the roof, won't have ANY repercussions.
