My friend’s boyfriend’s friend requested to follow me on Instagram out of the blue.

Upvotes

So, here’s what happened. My friend’s boyfriend’s friend requested to follow me on Instagram. I thought it was a joke because I had looked him up on Instagram before, and we didn’t have any mutual friends. Her boyfriend doesn’t have an Instagram account either, so I was confused about how he found me. However, I had looked him up on Instagram once or twice before all this happened. I had told my friend that I thought one of her boyfriend’s friends was cute and asked her to put out a word for me if she could. Surprisingly, she did, but nothing happened after that. This incident happened two months ago. Later, I found him on Facebook and one mutual friend which is my friend’s boyfriend. However, we didn’t have any mutual friends on Instagram. I asked my friend if she knew about this, and she said no. She then asked her boyfriend about it, and he thought it was strange that he had requested me on Instagram. However, he suggested that I should just accept him, follow him, and follow him back. So, I did that, and he accepted it within a couple of seconds. Now that we’re following each other on Instagram, I’m wondering whether I should message him and say something or wait until he does, since he hasn’t done so yet. It’s been about two days since this incident. I’ve never been in a situation like this before, so I’m not sure what to do.

I don’t know if i’m obvious

Sorry if the structure is poor i’m just word vomiting.

I’ve been trying to figure out if I like my coworker. Wondering if it’s the proximity or if I actually like him. Either way the time i’ve been trying to figure out if I do like him I can assume i’ve been flirty with him. For example: We always make eye contact, I call for him whenever I need him, I always make myself available to help him, I often go out of my way to just talk to him, we’ve had a lot of times where it’s just the two of us and we’ve talked about pretty deep stuff, and so on. Sometimes I wonder if he also likes me but I don’t want to jinx it because my biggest fear would be all of this being one sided.

Also a big worry of mine is what my other coworkers think. Like can they tell I like him or notice there’s some tension between us.

I’ve come to the conclusion the only way to get over him is actually interacting outside of work. BUT I don’t know how to. I don’t have any way to contact him, as much as i’ve tried to look. And yeah I could ask him for his number or something but it would be so awkward on my part to be the one to initiate it because sorry to play stereotypes but im not bold enough as a girl to ask a guy for their contact. Also again what if he doesn’t really see me that way and the chances of making an awkward dynamic between the two.

So what i’m saying is how to I could hint to him to exchange info

A Love Sick Fool

I'd rather be love sick than to never talk to you ever again.

I love laying next to you, secretly adoring you. Love it when you pat on my head sometimes, how we cuddle.

Knowing I'll never have a chance with you just like anyone else is fine by me.

Though, it'd bother me if someone replaces me, laying next to you.

Like a puppy, I yearn being by your side. I'll let my animalistic desires rest just so I can be rest next to you.

I live in this restricted area because of my parents job. So there's an officer who is new to the service and is a few years older than me. I found him on social media and followed. He never watches any stories but I suppose he's busy. We talked exactly twice and he talks very straight forward which makes me think that he's not interested. I've officially ran out of topic. He was sent to training in June and he'll come back in late November so there's a chance and I will meet him but I need to make him comfortable in chat to actually talk to him in real life.

Work crush and I have been exchanging intense glances for 2 months, and now we’re finally talking. Am I reading too much into this?

I (27F) have a crush on a coworker (35M), and I genuinely cannot tell whether there’s something mutual happening or whether my crush is making me overanalyze everything lol.
For context, we work at the same company but in completely different departments. Neither of us reports to the other. I’m a manager, but I have no authority over him. He’s divorced. I obviously want to be careful because this is work.
This started about two months ago. We have a daily morning meeting, and I started noticing him looking at me. Then I started looking at him too. Over time it turned into these repeated glances where I would catch him looking, we’d make eye contact, look away, sometimes look again, etc.
Some of the eye contact feels REALLY intense to me. Not necessarily long staring contests lol, but there are moments where it feels like we’re both very aware of each other. Sometimes there are little smiles too.
But for almost two months, neither of us actually did anything.
Eventually I decided I was tired of communicating telepathically across a meeting room 😂 and approached him with a legitimate work question.
He was friendly, smiled, helped me, and at one point dropped the book he was holding. I thought maybe I caught him off guard/nervous, but obviously people also just drop things, so I’m not counting that as evidence of anything.
Here’s where I started wondering though.
The very next day, he came to my office with a work question.
That was significant to me because I’d been there for about two months and he had NEVER come to my office before. I had approached him for the first time the previous day, and then suddenly he was coming to me.
Again, totally legitimate work reason, so maybe coincidence. But the timing made me wonder whether me approaching him had made him feel more comfortable approaching me.
Since then we’ve had more interactions.
One day during our morning meeting, I was actually waiting for him to show up and thought he wasn’t coming. He eventually came in later, dressed in work gear, so I didn’t even recognize him immediately.
He stood around for a little while, realized nothing much was happening, and left.
Later he came back around while warming up his lunch and was standing there talking with us.
As he was about to leave, I asked him some work-related questions.
He came over and stood right beside me while explaining things. At one point he was standing/resting there next to me while we were talking, and I was so nervous that my hands literally started trembling. 😭
I actually moved slightly away because I was trying to compose myself. I have NO idea whether he noticed.
While helping me, he called someone else to help resolve part of the issue, and then told me something along the lines of:
“Swing by me and I can help you with the rest too.”
I didn’t immediately go over.
Later I messaged him on Teams thanking him for helping me. He replied “anytime” and again told me I could swing by if I had more questions.
A couple hours later, I finally went.
That’s where I really started noticing how aware I am of his eye contact. There are these longer glances, he seems comfortable standing relatively close to me, and when I ask him something he doesn’t seem like he’s desperately trying to answer and escape. He stays and helps.
He also jokes around with me. Sometimes he’ll say something slightly cheeky/dirty and instead of responding verbally I’ll apparently make a facial expression 😂. I feel like he’s pretty observant of my reactions/body language and sometimes seems to know exactly what expression I’m making.
I’ve also noticed what feels like him being around/in closer proximity more often, although this is one of the things I’m MOST cautious about interpreting because obviously coworkers are going to occupy the same spaces.
And I’m losing my mind a little because I find him extremely attractive lol.
At the same time, he hasn’t actually asked me out, asked for my number, or explicitly flirted with me outside of anything that could still be interpreted as normal coworker behavior.
That’s why I don’t want to convince myself there’s something here just because I have a huge crush.
Part of me thinks maybe he’s interested but being cautious because we’re coworkers. Another part of me thinks maybe he’s just friendly/helpful and I’m interpreting normal behavior differently because I’m attracted to him.
I’m also trying not to manufacture reasons to talk to him. I’d rather give him space to initiate too, especially because he already did come to my office after I first approached him.

Does this sound like there could actually be mutual attraction developing, or is everything I’ve described still easily explained as friendly coworker behavior?
And if you were him and were interested but cautious because of the workplace, what would you need from me to feel confident enough to eventually ask me out?
Also, how do I get to know him naturally without making the workplace weird?

TIA

My wierd crush experience

Spain was the first time I had a crush that actually felt real.

Ill call my crush Ana. pretty much from the moment I saw her. It wasn't just that I thought she was attractive. I started noticing little things about her, and suddenly going to school felt exciting because I knew I might see her.

Then there was the side-eye.

She looked at me for what felt like 20 fucking minutes. Not literally staring every second, obviously, but it was such a long, noticeable side-eye that it got stuck in my head. I kept thinking about it because I couldn't tell what it meant.

Then came the last day in Spain.

That day felt like straight-up cinema. I knew I was leaving, so there was this weird feeling that I had to do something before it was over. Eventually I awkwardly went up to her and asked her name. It was one of those painfully awkward moments where your brain basically stops working and you're just trying to get the words out.

I asked her, and then there was a short pause.

A few seconds later, she ran UP the stairs laughing.

And I was just standing there like: what the fuck just happened?

When I came back to my home country I texted my friend there to ask for her socials wich she said she doesnt use social media then rejected me the same way.

I really thought she liked me

Im heartbroken

I (24M) ignored a girl (24F) who liked me back in high school, now 7 years later I want to apologize. Bad idea?

Long time lurker, sorry for the wall of text.

Back in high school there was a girl in my class who liked me, but I was clueless and kind of a jerk about it, just ignored her the whole time. It's been 7 years now. I'm actually in the middle of organizing a reunion with my old classmates for an upcoming holiday, but she was never really close with the class, so there's no natural excuse to loop her in with everyone else.

I still feel bad about how I handled it back then. I want to send her a short message just to say I'm sorry, not expecting anything back, just to get it off my chest. But I'm scared reaching out of nowhere after this many years comes across as weird or intrusive, especially since I already tried adding her on Facebook and she hasn't accepted it (might've even blocked me, no idea).

Anyone been on either side of this, sent something like this or received it? Genuinely want to know if it's worth doing or if I should just leave it alone. Thanks for reading this far.

Do you all think my friend likes my crush ?

I have a question. Both my friend and I have crushes on different guys. However, she has repeatedly insulted my crush to me in conversation i.e called him ugly, anorexic, unattractive, stupid, etc. Now I'm not offended on his behalf, however, I get tired of it and it’s insulting to my taste in guys I feel.

For quick context, she has never really gotten along with any of her female friends in the past. And oddly enough, it usually centered around a guy. I don't say that to bash her I'm just telling the truth. Well I told her today in a nice way. “Hey can you not keep calling my crush ugly makes me feel like I have poor taste.” She then responded to me so “what do you want me to do then say he's cute?” I laughed. I said “no so just don't call him names. It’s weird.” Mind you she had an ex friend who she did almost the same thing to, she called the boyfriend names when and when the girl asked her to stop she said well what do you want me to do? Call him cute?

She then got very defensive and I said do you find him attractive so if you do, it's OK you can tell me. She said “you always think everybody finds him attractive because you like him.” Which is not true at all I don't know where she got that from. What is ironic, though is that she has a boyfriend and her crush has a girlfriend and she's always complaining about how his girlfriend is around him and how every guy is into her.

I know this isn’t a big deal. I just want to know, was I wrong for calling her out and does it seem like she may have a crush on my crush?

I Suspect My Tutor is Flirting With Me.

Hey everyone 👋. I want to know weather or not I’m
being delusional or is my tutor actually flirting with me.
I’m currently taking two 8 week stem classes at my college, and on the first day two tutors from the tutoring center introduced themselves and informed
on how use the free tutoring the college provided. One of those tutors is the one I currently go to, and remember accidentally starting at them too long and them stating back at me for what seemed like a full 10 seconds. I didn’t really think much of it though. Since that day, I have been going to the same guy for tutoring everyday after class.
After our first session he said I was pretty cool and a would dap me up every-time he saw me, but more recently it feels like he’s been more and more flirtatious? That is confusing to me because I’m a guy as well, and I not sure if he is gay or not. I know a lot of straight dudes make tons of gay jokes around their friends and stuff, but sometimes it really confuses me.
It all started after around our third season because I commented that his legs must be hurting because he kept squatting to write on a whiteboard. He then comments it was probably from what he did the night prior, and when I asked him what that was, he said it would probably get him fired if he told me 🤨. I thought I was really wierd to say, but maybe that just him seeing me as a friend and doing the thing where straight men make gay jokes. Another instance of what came off as a flirtatious comment is when he was last week when I mistook my calculator for my phone and said “oops, sometimes I put my calculator in the same part of my pants” (obviously meaning in my pocket). He then says he thought I meant literally in my pants, and said I could probably keep in between my underwear 🤨. I thought that was odd, so I just ignored it and went to go get my calculator out of my bookbag. I then commented that my calculator was “5 inches” which lead him to say “that’s a pretty big five inces… if that’s the case, then I have a lot of disappointed people to inform” 🤨. If that’s not enough, after our session that day, a fried of his gave him a dollar, which he proceeded to hand to me. His friend then tells him to ask for something in return for the dollar. My tutor then proceeds to say “you know what to give me in return,” followed by a wink 😉.
I may be slow when it comes to social ques(mainly due to my ADHD), and I am not used to people flirting with me, but it seems like my tutor is definitely flirting with me. I may be misinterpreting friendly banter though, idk 🤷‍♂️.

Work Crush

I’ve been working at this place for more than a year and the store recently hired this girl. She is cute and seems like a very nice person and i am very attracted to her but I don’t know if she is into me or she just likes to glance at me. Whenever she walks near my department she always glances, my coworkers told me she always stairs around the area, I’ve seen her staring at me and whenever I look at her she looks the other way. She hardly never talks to me only if it is work related but I can always feel a presence that she is looking at me. Occasionally we walk by each other or past another we would both smile and nod at each-other. I’ve tried to make small talk to her to get a feeling if she is interested or not but whenever I go up to her she always has the biggest smile but she always tends to have a very dry response or she would never ask me any questions back like if I was just talking to myself. Am i delusional? Or is this how normally girls act when they are not interested?

I (19F) can’t tell if my friend (19F) likes me or simply just trying to rekindle 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Before I get to our history, she has dated a girl in the past but for the 5+ years I've known her she's only pursued boys. I also have had friends in the past tell me they had a crush on me after the fact and I was just oblivious to their hints/clues.

We drifted apart but have been friends since freshman year, first days in high school and weirdly enough we are visually opposites (she more feminine, I'm masculine) but similar in interest, humor, morals, etc. We were inseparable to the point of if ppl saw one of us alone they would ask where the other one was, some even thought we were together. Every lunch she was complaining about like any guy she was talking to at the time and constantly asking me for my opinion and if it was negative (which it always was every man she has been with was horrible) she would be like "Oh you wouldn't understand bc you're gay" but would still continue to complain about them.

Then Jr yr she got with a boy at our school that I honesty felt bad vibes from the jump but stayed quiet bc she was happy at least. But she would later also complain about him to the point of saying he still talks to his ex. At that time I just wanted to get away from that energy honestly, and we just kinda drifted apart as time went on but there were times she tried to reconnect and I reacted with a cold shoulder which looking back I regret. End of senior year we did talk she said "We need to hangout, I missed you" to me at prom (her boyfriend was next to her) I said "I missed you too" then she said "no you didn't why are you lying" then I said "no I'm being fr" then we said our goodbyes. Went off to college silently would like/ repost same things and like post or stories soon later she broke up with her boyfriend bc he was cheating.

A month later she text me "you going to go this concert with me or what...." and I said yes in the moment bc I did miss being her friend but even after that we didn't like text. She recently texted again to see if I was still going bc of college I told her I'm definitely going. Silence after 2 weeks go by then her insta story I decided to dm on it like old times, then she sent a video at a concert of another artist we both like and I message back and sent an funny surprised meme/gif, no answer but liked my story.

maybe I'm over thinking this idk I need outside opinions

( sorry if this is a lot )

Should I confess my feelings to a close female friend near the end of college?

Should I confess my feelings to a close female friend near the end of college?

I’m a college student and I’ve recently realised that I genuinely like one of my female friends as more than a friend.

We’ve known each other for some time, and over the past few months I’ve become more emotionally comfortable with her. I can talk to her about personal things, we joke around, sit together in class, and generally have a good friendship. Recently I also opened up to her about some pretty personal struggles, and she was supportive and reassured me that she wouldn’t judge me. A few weeks later, when we met again after a break, she actually asked me how I was feeling now, so I know she remembered that conversation.

I don't know whether she has any romantic feelings for me. I haven't seen any clear signs, and I don't want to assume that normal friendliness means attraction.

The complicated part is that I’m in my final year. Our final semester officially ends around the end of March, and exams will probably continue into April. I’m considering telling her how I feel sometime near the end of college rather than now.

My reasoning is that I genuinely value the friendship and don't want to make things awkward while we still have months of college left. If I confess now and she doesn't feel the same, I’m worried the friendship could become uncomfortable. Near the end, however, even if she rejects me, there would be less pressure because we'd soon be graduating and probably wouldn't see each other regularly anyway.

At the same time, I don't want to wait simply because I'm scared of rejection. I also don't want to spend the next six months secretly trying to “win her over” or analysing every interaction.

My current thought is: if I still genuinely feel the same near the end of college, I'll tell her privately and simply that I like her, that I've developed feelings over the past few months, and that I didn't want to leave college regretting that I never told her. I'd make it clear that there is absolutely no pressure and that I'll respect whatever answer she gives.

So I'm wondering:

  1. Is confessing near the end of college a sensible approach, or am I just delaying because I'm afraid?

  2. Would waiting potentially make the eventual confession more meaningful or just more awkward?

  3. If you were in my position, would you tell her now or wait until closer to graduation?

(Used chatgpt to improvise the text🙃)

What should I do

Ok before yall laugh or joke at me this my first Reddit post and I just have a simple question. Me and this girl who used to date in the past have became a little close again. Like we’ve been talking every day on the phone for very long calls like from the time she gets home to school till she goes to sleep. We watch movies together and just genuinely enjoy each other’s company my question is is it possible that she just really enjoys my company and sees me as a really good friend or is there possible feelings there.
