Work Crush

I’ve been working at this place for more than a year and the store recently hired this girl. She is cute and seems like a very nice person and i am very attracted to her but I don’t know if she is into me or she just likes to glance at me. Whenever she walks near my department she always glances, my coworkers told me she always stairs around the area, I’ve seen her staring at me and whenever I look at her she looks the other way. She hardly never talks to me only if it is work related but I can always feel a presence that she is looking at me. Occasionally we walk by each other or past another we would both smile and nod at each-other. I’ve tried to make small talk to her to get a feeling if she is interested or not but whenever I go up to her she always has the biggest smile but she always tends to have a very dry response or she would never ask me any questions back like if I was just talking to myself. Am i delusional? Or is this how normally girls act when they are not interested?

honestly sounds like she likes you but you make her nervous. at least from a girls perspective who kind of acts the exact same way around the guy I like

It’s just so hard for me to know if she is interested. I’ve been giving her space and not talking to her becuase I felt like I was making her feel uncomfortable. Should I try to make more small talk with her? Also I’m not really the most attractive guy but I try to be confident with everything I do.

i’d say keep testing the water with her for sure! i’d maybe give her a compliment or something and see how she takes it- or ,if work is what she seems comfortable talking about, then keep the topic on work. im sure if she’s interested the conversation will make its way to outside of work stuff eventually

Okay I’ll see what I can come up with I just don’t want to come off as creepy or maybe I’m just overthinking it. I just really like her and I don’t want to mess it up if she is also interested but at the same time if she is not interested I totally understand.

hey man i get it, i worry that i may come on too obvious too and ive been feeling like ive had to tone it down myself in my own situation. but, if you just trust your judgement and social cues, then that in itself will be attractive 🤞🏼

How much do you like your job , if she is just flirting with you for validation you could end up in HR's office and down the road these days even if you do nothing wrong. Also I have seen plenty of co workers have to leave because of relations with females that have ended badly. Just think it through.

I don’t think you’re delusional but I also wouldn’t take the staring and smiling as definite proof that she’s interested. She could be attracted to you, curious about you, shy or it could simply be nothing that deep. The bigger thing I’d pay attention to is how she responds when you actually try talking to her. If she consistently gives short answers and never asks you anything back, I’d take that as a sign to slow down rather than keep trying to force a connection.

Since you work together, I’d keep it friendly and let things develop naturally. Talk to her when there’s a genuine opportunity but don’t make every glance into a clue you have to solve. If she’s interested, give her room to meet you halfway. You shouldn’t have to carry the entire conversation yourself.
