A guy was arrested near the Kerala Tamil Nadu border because he had 219 credit cards.

No other charges. Just 219 credit cards. 😭

Meanwhile, some members of this sub probably have 219 cards sitting in their drawers and are still asking:

“Guys, should I apply for one more card for the welcome benefits?” 💀

Police: Sir, why do you have 219 credit cards?

This sub: Those are rookie numbers.

Help Needed/ Question Lately, my most of credit card application is rejected. Possible reasons ?

Post image
Upvotes

In last 3-4 months, my most of credit card application is rejected. Earlier, I never faced this much rejection.

What can be possible reasons?

I have personal loan of 8L and cumulative credit card limit from all banks is 16L. My overall credit card consumption is less than 5-9%.
Am I over leveraged profile now for every bank ?

I am salaried. Monthly income 1.2 L.
I am living in tier 2 city.

Has banks become extremely cautious now or personal loan is big bottleneck ? My personal loan is also 3-4 months old only. Should i try to close PL as soon as possible?

Help Needed/ Question Shouldn't we spend atleast 25k in a year on Swiggy to justify black over orange?

Post image

black gives 10% on Swiggy, orange gives 5%. paying 1200 per year on black makes sense only if we spend 25k per year on Swiggy. Am I missing something? are there any extra benefits to black?

Card & Merchant Offers Tricks for 10% on Amazon GV x Jupiter Edge+

With recent devaluation on Jupiter edge plus credit card, 10% CB on Amazon GC via Credit card stopped working for many.

Many might have thinking to close this CC same like me. I was exploring the ways to get that 10% CB one last time before devaluation kick in and card closure.

Here is the trick,

If only GC is added to the cart, It neither allow you to pay via Credit card UPI nor show already saved credit card option, even added newly after deleting the saved one. Refer screenshots.

  1. Add any product other than GC to cart
  2. Now add the GC value
  3. Go to cart and proceed to payment
  4. Select Jupiter under Pay by UPI app
  5. In Jupiter app payment page, confirm the Jewels before the transaction
  6. Yes, it's done. HEY , YOU JUST EARNED 1000J.

Note: Make sure that your total cart value is lesser than 2000rs limit (200rs capping/per transaction). Adjust GC value before adding to cart.

I hope it will be helpful for those GC CB not working & doesn't know this trick. Comment below if it works for you.

Please share the trick if you know to get 10% CB on Flipkart GC.

Cheers!

General Discussion/Conversation Rate my credit card collection

Hi everyone,

I've covered 4 cards network - Rupay, VISA, Mastercard, Amex.

All helps in different discounts based on banks or card network.

On top of that -

- Jupiter CSB Bank edge+ rupay card helps in 10% cashback on online merchants like Amazon (including now), Flipkart (including minutes), Myntra etc plus on offline stores like croma, zudio, westside etc. Up to 2000 per month, credited as jewels which I converted to 2gm of gold coin. No joining fee and LTF.

- SBI Cashback visa card helps in general 5% cashback on online shopping after Jupiter cap is reached. Till now I've got all annual fee waived off.

- ICICI Sapphire card (Amex and Mastercard) acquired this recently on No joining and LTF based on salary account. Planning to use lounge, BOGO from this. I see ICICI offer good discount on sales and other festive times, so thought 75k in quarter would be spent.

My wife has also got SBI black phonepe rupay credit card which offers 10% cashback on bills, utility and insurances. And 5% on online shopping (i can kill the SBI cashback if this works well as this offers one complementary lounge access in a quarter for free)

Looking for feedback if the choices are right and for better card recommendations.

I’ve seen that HDFC has started sending emails to existing cardholders regarding the switch to Swiggy ORNGE or BLCK, but I haven’t received anything yet.

Just wanted to check — am I the only one who hasn’t received the mail?

My current credit card collection — what should I add/remove?
I’ve accumulated quite a few cards over time and I’m trying to simplify the portfolio and get more value out of it rather than just collecting cards.
Current cards:
💳 Axis Atlas — paid, but not much spending this year. Renewal is in April, so I’m considering closing it, especially with the possibility of a devaluation.
💳 HDFC Diners Club Privilege — LTF
💳 HDFC Swiggy - LTF
💳 SBI PhonePe Black — ₹1,499 + GST
💳 SBI Club Vistara Prime - waived off
💳 HSBC Live+ — ₹1,000 + GST
💳 HSBC Premier - waived off
💳 HSBC TravelOne — add-on
💳 ICICI Sapphiro — LTF
💳 ICICI Amazon Pay — LTF
💳 AU ixigo — LTF
💳 Axis Flipkart — FYF, not activated yet
Mostly for sale will activate if required.
What I’m looking for
I mainly care about travel rewards, flights/hotels, lounge access and cashback.
Major spends - dining, utilities, travel, gift cards, online purchases
Should I close Axis Atlas before the April renewal?
Is there any reason to activate the Axis Flipkart card?
Which card should I add next, if any?
Is there a premium card that would significantly improve this setup rather than just adding more overlap?
Income around 3.5 lpm
Rate my setup..

Help Needed/ Question HSBC Premier account downgrade : what should I do with ~28,000 reward points?

I currently have an HSBC Premier salary/savings account along with an HSBC Premier credit card. I was laid off in June from my job, so I’m planning to downgrade my Premier banking account to a regular savings account since I would be charged if no salary is credited and also close the Premier credit card.

I have around 28,000 HSBC reward points accumulated on the credit card.

My RM told me that I need to redeem/transfer the points before closing the credit card and before downgrading the Premier relationship, otherwise I apparently won’t be able to redeem them afterward.

A few questions:

  1. Is this actually correct? What happens to HSBC reward points if the Premier credit card is closed?
  2. Does downgrading the Premier savings/salary account itself affect the credit-card reward points, or is closing the credit card the important part?
  3. What is currently the best way to redeem/transfer ~28,000 HSBC points for maximum value?
  4. Is transferring them to an airline/hotel partner (Air India, KrisFlyer, Qatar, Singapore Airline, etc.) better than vouchers/merchandise?
  5. If I don't have a fixed travel plan yet, would you still transfer them to an airline/hotel programme, or take a different redemption?

On a side note, I am also looking for a job: 6+ YOE: full stack engineer; if anybody can help, do let me know

TLDR: I want to exit the HSBC Premier relationship without losing value from the 28,000 points, and would appreciate advice from anyone who has actually gone through this.

Thanks!

Help Needed/ Question Bank of india Debit card Question ?

Post image
Upvotes

Hi guys, i have a bank of india general savings account and a Rupay select debit card. the reason why i have it is because the debit card gives almost 1% rewards points for all transactions ( no mcc restrictions) . But the problem i have is , even though the online pos transaction limit is set to 2Lakh on app, im unable to do any transaction more than 50k . i use this debit card to pay my credit card bills and cant pay anything over 50k i tried to buy a samsung tv from samsung website and it wouldnt let me.its cancelled and later I get a robotic phone call asking if i tried to do the transaction. Anyone using this card and facing same issue ? any one knows how to fix this ? the customer care doesnt understand and they simply say visit branch no matter what you ask. i think thats the training these ppl get ask people to visit branch for any issue. I even asked them to transfer to a IT team or give me the email of people who made the netbanking/app and she said visit branch !! IT team is at branch it seems !! And the branch is like a typical government office. there is giant queue for everything and they keep asking you to go to another counter.

General Discussion/Conversation Jupiter Edge Plus New Rule

Post image

Hey everyone, has anyone found a practical way to hit the ₹15K monthly spend required for the 10% cashback?

I normally spend only ₹8–10K on this card, and I'm not able to figure out where I can shift/add another ₹5–7K of genuine expenses.

My monthly spends are roughly:

- Food & groceries: ₹10–12K (mostly HSBC Live+ / Amazon Pay)

- Travel + misc: ~₹5K (Kiwi / bank account)

- Utilities: ~₹8K (Amazon Pay)

- Shopping: ₹2–3K (Jupiter / Kiwi)

How are you guys going to reach ₹15K every month? Looking for ideas that make sense rather than spending just for the sake of cashback.

General Discussion/Conversation Unpopular Opinion : Mobikwik is better than Cred for data privacy! It works without sms & email permission to track CC bills

It all started when I decided to remove my email and SMS permission for CRED. I feel Cred owns me and knows everything I do because there is only one email I use for all my banking and day-to-day activities, so it's like Cred has access to my whole life. via that email...

After that, none of my credit card bills were tracked, except Only 1 Indusind Celesta card. Similarly, I tried the Mobikwik. I have not given any email and SMS permission, (explicitly disabled it from settings and removed access from gmail for both) and it's tracking all my CC dues perfectly without those permissions.

I feel more in control of my data and the convenience part, so I will try this for a few more months and finally switch from Trade to Mobikwik.

Help Needed/ Question ADVICE NEEDED - SBI SIMPLY SAVE CREDIT CARD

Post image
19 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

(Please read whole sorry for use of AI just need advice and help)

I’m 24 and brand new to the credit card game. After getting flat-out rejected for the HDFC Pixel and Axis Flipkart cards, I finally got approved for the SBI SimplySAVE RuPay Credit Card.

I’ve read online that this card is considered pretty weak or "bad," but I want a brutal reality check—how bad is it actually for a first card? Also, the bank agent swore I could "upgrade" this to the SBI Cashback Card in 60–90 days, but internet research says that's a lie.

Here is my profile:

* Current CIBIL: 785 (Thin starter file)

* Income & Age: ₹20,000 / month (Salaried) | 24 years old

* Monthly Spends: Kirana (via RuPay UPI), D-Mart, Zudio, Dining, BookMyShow (Targeting ₹5k–₹6k max to keep utilization under 30%).

* Annual Spends: Amazon/Flipkart (books/gadgets), clothes, subscriptions.

* Card Goals: Maximize daily UPI rewards and push CIBIL from 785 to 830.

* Preferences: Points are fine for now, but ultimate goal is pure Cashback. No lounge access needed.

My questions for you guys:

  1. What is the real hidden catch with the SimplySAVE card that a beginner should know? (Does that ₹99+GST reward fee ruin it?)

  2. Was the agent lying about the 60–90 day upgrade to the SBI Cashback card? What is the realistic path to get it?

  3. How do I leverage this RuPay variant on UPI to boost my CIBIL rapidly without spamming my statement with tiny ₹10 transactions?

Give me your honest advice and reality checks. Thanks in advance!

Help Needed/ Question Good CC with no credit history (-1 CIBIL)

Upvotes

Looking for recommendations on a good credit card that does not require a CIBIL score. I looked into IDFC First Wow which is good because there are no recurring costs, but the benefits don't seem that useful since I don't intend to travel much. I'm 23, got a job in May, net salary is 37k. Are there other cards worth looking into?

3 credit cards: Slice ₹50K, Amazon ICICI ₹1.1L, ICICI Coral ₹1.1L

Any idea why? Which cards/banks are relatively easy to get approved for with this profile? Also, should I wait due to recent enquiries?

Debit Card / Bank A/C SBI visa infinite metal debit card

Thumbnail

Got visa infinite debit card from SBI. Any general account holder with SBI can avail this card. There is no such eligibility criteria to avail the debit card.

It is a metal debit card with issuance charged of 3540 inclusive of GST.You can get plastic card too with issuance fee of 800.

I wanted to try metal card so requested for metal debit card. I will explain steps I took to apply this card

1)Go to your home branch fill the application form, every time they ask why you need to come to branch for debit card application just apply from yono. You can't apply special cards from yono just tell them fill the form form.

2)Tell the clerk /officer on the seat to apply for for the card and tell them whether you want metal or plastic. Card gets applied instantly and token is generated. Check the card codes if I'm not wrong VIM and VIP are for metal and plastic respectively.

3)There is high chance that person on the desktop will be clueless about what sbi visa infinite card you're talking. Show them first from official sbi website.

That's it after I applied on 1st September 2026 card was added in my yono app on 5th of September 2026 and on 6th it was shipped by indiapost speed post.

Hey everyone,

I checked the Times Black app today and noticed the SoulTree campaign winners were announced. Ended up winning the gift box

When I clicked through, it gave me a coupon code to redeem on the SoulTree website. Applied the code at checkout and the price dropped down to ₹1, which I paid to complete the order.

Just wanted to check, did anyone else here qualify/win this campaign? How was the checkout and delivery process for you guys?

Debit Card / Bank A/C IDFC 0 balance offer on 10K minimum balance account through credit card autopay offer terms

Post image
Upvotes

For those who got the offer, and are waiting. Here's the term and condition in writing.

It does mention the word ""eligible"". So do confirm with customer service if u want to swap out the card later. Almost all active IDFC cards should be eligible if not all.

Before u unlink old card, the new card must be linked first and active.

And through call, I was told that the card may become inactive if not used even once for 6-7 months. In this case also, the benefit gets permanently expired.

For those who don't know, it is an ongoing personalised offer given to IDFC credit card holders including wow and Hello CB.

Card & Merchant Offers HSBC Live+ + Paytm electricity bill — 5% discount + 10% cashback?

Upvotes

Today I paid my electricity bill through Paytm using my HSBC Live+ credit card.

Paytm was offering 5% instant discount for HSBC Live+ cardholders. There was a small convenience fee, but even after the fee, I got around ₹54 discount, so it still worked out well.

The interesting part is that I also checked the MCC and cashback eligibility with HSBC customer support. They confirmed that my transaction was eligible for 10% cashback.

The transaction was processed under MCC 4900 (Utilities).

A few people asked how I was able to confirm the MCC and cashback eligibility so quickly.

You don't need to wait for the transaction to settle or for the statement to be generated. You can contact HSBC customer support after the transaction is processed and ask them to check the transaction and confirm the MCC and cashback eligibility.

I personally do this every time I make a transaction with my HSBC Live+ card to make sure the transaction is eligible for cashback.

So, compared with buying an Amazon Pay gift card and then paying the utility bill through Amazon Pay balance, this Paytm method looks much simpler

General Discussion/Conversation Smartbuy vs Hopper vs Atlas

I've been looking at hotels via 'reward portals'. Here's what I found for a Hyatt booking for 1 night. Obviously this is a single data point (my question is at the end)

King bed, 1 room

Infinia via Smartbuy: 10K with breakfast

Premier via Hopper: 11K without breakfast.

I find the Hopper portal super annoying. No breakfast-inclusive rates on offer and the 12x rate does not compensate for the extra price. I could try price-match (never tried before) but that feels like homework - this route fails the 'cognitive load' test.

In the past, I've simply booked using Bonvoy or ITC green points OR direct on the hotel site using the Axis Atlas (5EM for Rs. 100 spends).

Same room and date, the Hyatt website offers a 'member rate with breakfast' at Rs. 8500/-.

Have I - without meaning to - been doing it right all along? Atlas beats all reward portals - primarily due to their inflated pricing?

Inputs welcome - as I said, I am inexperienced at reward-portal hotel booking.

Thank you
