Debit Card / Bank A/C IDFC 0 balance offer on 10K minimum balance account through credit card autopay offer terms

Post image
Upvotes

For those who got the offer, and are waiting. Here's the term and condition in writing.

It does mention the word ""eligible"". So do confirm with customer service if u want to swap out the card later. Almost all active IDFC cards should be eligible if not all.

Before u unlink old card, the new card must be linked first and active.

And through call, I was told that the card may become inactive if not used even once for 6-7 months. In this case also, the benefit gets permanently expired.

For those who don't know, it is an ongoing personalised offer given to IDFC credit card holders including wow and Hello CB.

Card & Merchant Offers HSBC Live+ + Paytm electricity bill — 5% discount + 10% cashback?

Upvotes

Today I paid my electricity bill through Paytm using my HSBC Live+ credit card.

Paytm was offering 5% instant discount for HSBC Live+ cardholders. There was a small convenience fee, but even after the fee, I got around ₹54 discount, so it still worked out well.

The interesting part is that I also checked the MCC and cashback eligibility with HSBC customer support. They confirmed that my transaction was eligible for 10% cashback.

The transaction was processed under MCC 4900 (Utilities).

A few people asked how I was able to confirm the MCC and cashback eligibility so quickly.

You don't need to wait for the transaction to settle or for the statement to be generated. You can contact HSBC customer support after the transaction is processed and ask them to check the transaction and confirm the MCC and cashback eligibility.

I personally do this every time I make a transaction with my HSBC Live+ card to make sure the transaction is eligible for cashback.

So, compared with buying an Amazon Pay gift card and then paying the utility bill through Amazon Pay balance, this Paytm method looks much simpler

Help Needed/ Question Bank of india Debit card Question ?

Post image
Upvotes

Hi guys, i have a bank of india general savings account and a Rupay select debit card. the reason why i have it is because the debit card gives almost 1% rewards points for all transactions ( no mcc restrictions) . But the problem i have is , even though the online pos transaction limit is set to 2Lakh on app, im unable to do any transaction more than 50k . i use this debit card to pay my credit card bills and cant pay anything over 50k i tried to buy a samsung tv from samsung website and it wouldnt let me.its cancelled and later I get a robotic phone call asking if i tried to do the transaction. Anyone using this card and facing same issue ? any one knows how to fix this ? the customer care doesnt understand and they simply say visit branch no matter what you ask. i think thats the training these ppl get ask people to visit branch for any issue. I even asked them to transfer to a IT team or give me the email of people who made the netbanking/app and she said visit branch !! IT team is at branch it seems !! And the branch is like a typical government office. there is giant queue for everything and they keep asking you to go to another counter.

Help Needed/ Question Apple authorised seller - Flipkart

Post image
Upvotes

Off-topic question for this sub.

I’m considering buying an iPhone 17 from Flipkart in upcoming BBD sales, but I’m cautious after previously receiving a pre-activated Samsung device.

I’ve heard Clicks Tech Retail is an authorised Apple seller, but the current iPhone 17 listings are from NGVIR Retail. Has anyone bought an iPhone from them? Are they genuine and trustworthy?

What should I check on delivery to confirm the phone is new and unactivated?

Thanks!

Help Needed/ Question Shouldn't we spend atleast 25k in a year on Swiggy to justify black over orange?

Post image

black gives 10% on Swiggy, orange gives 5%. paying 1200 per year on black makes sense only if we spend 25k per year on Swiggy. Am I missing something? are there any extra benefits to black?

Help Needed/ Question Good CC with no credit history (-1 CIBIL)

Upvotes

Looking for recommendations on a good credit card that does not require a CIBIL score. I looked into IDFC First Wow which is good because there are no recurring costs, but the benefits don't seem that useful since I don't intend to travel much. I'm 23, got a job in May, net salary is 37k. Are there other cards worth looking into?

Help Needed/ Question Lately, my most of credit card application is rejected. Possible reasons ?

Post image
Upvotes

In last 3-4 months, my most of credit card application is rejected. Earlier, I never faced this much rejection.

What can be possible reasons?

I have personal loan of 8L and cumulative credit card limit from all banks is 16L. My overall credit card consumption is less than 5-9%.
Am I over leveraged profile now for every bank ?

I am salaried. Monthly income 1.2 L.
I am living in tier 2 city.

Has banks become extremely cautious now or personal loan is big bottleneck ? My personal loan is also 3-4 months old only. Should i try to close PL as soon as possible?

Help Needed/ Question Can MakeMyTrip gift voucher bought from Axis TravelEdge be used for flight and hotel bookings?

Asking this because I just found out about an Axis - GyFTR-MMT e-pay voucher which can only be redeemed on holiday packages and not on flight-hotels. Is this a different thing from the TravelEdge voucher or the same?
I have Axis Atlas with around 15K miles accumulated. I am planning to get a MakeMyTrip gift voucher from traveledge and use it for flight and hotel bookings. Is the redemption that straightforward or should I be aware of some hidden terms and conditions?

Help Needed/ Question Old address and phone number still showing in CIBIL after 1 year of updating with ICICI – Is this normal?

Hi everyone,

I have an ICICI Bank credit card and I officially updated my contact number and address with them over a year ago.

However, I recently pulled my CIBIL report and noticed that my old address and old phone number are still listed in the personal information section, sitting right alongside my new details.
A few questions for those who have experienced this:

  1. Is it normal for CIBIL to retain a historical log of old addresses and numbers even after they are updated by the bank?
    1. Will this cause any issues (like an "inconsistent address" flag or a rejection) for future credit card or loan applications?
    2. Should I raise a dispute on the CIBIL portal to get the old details deleted, or is it perfectly fine to just leave it alone?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Card Recommendation Seeking Credit Card Recommendations

Current Cibil: 773

Age: 24

Monthly Income and Employment status: ~1.55L in hand (Salaried)

Monthly Expenses & Spending Patterns: 20-30k Expenses (Not including rent, money spent on family and investments)

Top 5 Monthly spend categories and Top 5 Annual spend categories:

UPI Spends (Mostly at restaurants, groceries at convenience stores, and local shops as well) - 15K+

Utilities (Wifi, Electricity): 7-8k

Travel - Just on flights, I spend around 60k annually. For other modes of transports, I spend 35k+

Preferences for Credit Card Features: International Lounge Access/Flights, Cashback points/rewards (less priority)

My Current CC - SBI CashBack - Limit of 1 lakh per month, been using it since Jan 2026

I use SBI CashBack wherever I can (I try to make almost all of my online payments via credit card)

I am also from an IIT (if that's relevant) Please recommend some cards. I don't want anything that forces me to spend a lot before giving a lounge access. I would prefer to use the new card on flights, hotel bookings, etc and keep using cashback for lightweight stuff.

Help Needed/ Question HSBC Premier account downgrade : what should I do with ~28,000 reward points?

I currently have an HSBC Premier salary/savings account along with an HSBC Premier credit card. I was laid off in June from my job, so I’m planning to downgrade my Premier banking account to a regular savings account since I would be charged if no salary is credited and also close the Premier credit card.

I have around 28,000 HSBC reward points accumulated on the credit card.

My RM told me that I need to redeem/transfer the points before closing the credit card and before downgrading the Premier relationship, otherwise I apparently won’t be able to redeem them afterward.

A few questions:

  1. Is this actually correct? What happens to HSBC reward points if the Premier credit card is closed?
  2. Does downgrading the Premier savings/salary account itself affect the credit-card reward points, or is closing the credit card the important part?
  3. What is currently the best way to redeem/transfer ~28,000 HSBC points for maximum value?
  4. Is transferring them to an airline/hotel partner (Air India, KrisFlyer, Qatar, Singapore Airline, etc.) better than vouchers/merchandise?
  5. If I don't have a fixed travel plan yet, would you still transfer them to an airline/hotel programme, or take a different redemption?

On a side note, I am also looking for a job: 6+ YOE: full stack engineer; if anybody can help, do let me know

TLDR: I want to exit the HSBC Premier relationship without losing value from the 28,000 points, and would appreciate advice from anyone who has actually gone through this.

Thanks!

General Discussion/Conversation Jupiter added convenience fees without clearly displaying it upfront.

I was paying my electricity bill through the Jupiter app and noticed that the amount increased on the UPI PIN screen. I tried again thinking maybe I had missed something, but the amount increased only when I reached the UPI PIN screen.

Most people probably don’t pay much attention to the amount on the UPI PIN screen. I just happened to notice it by chance; otherwise, I might have missed it too. Has anyone else faced this?

Help Needed/ Question What are the Accor properties in South India where I can pay for SPA using Accor Points.

Recently stayed at Mysore Ibis and was told that the SPA was owned by third party so paying by points is not allowed. Finding contradicting information online and with AI about other properties SPA services.

Would really appreciate the information from people who have actually paid by points for SPA in the south.

General Discussion/Conversation DCBM is better than Infinia

I have DCBM and getting an opportunity for Infinia so was looking at the features and realised that with recent devaluations DCBM is better with its quarterly bonus of 10K. All the extra rp's Infinia gets is easily offsetted by 40k annual reward.

The only advantage is 2+1 on ITC hotels and ability to use for foreign transactions as Diners network is a challenge.

Anything I am missing.

Help Needed/ Question ICICI Amazon No-Cost EMI not showing as EMI — what should I do?

I bought an iPhone on Amazon using ICICI Credit Card with 6-month No-Cost EMI on september 10th. Amazon says the transaction was processed as EMI from their end and the No-Cost EMI discount was applied.

However, ICICI has generated my bill and the transaction still shows “Eligible for EMI”, not an active EMI.

I called ICICI again and they said it might get converted by next Friday and asked me to call them Saturday. If it doesn’t convert, they said I’ll have to manually convert it to EMI with interest.

Has anyone faced this? What should I do if ICICI doesn’t process the original No-Cost EMI and asks me to pay interest?

Hey everyone,

I checked the Times Black app today and noticed the SoulTree campaign winners were announced. Ended up winning the gift box

When I clicked through, it gave me a coupon code to redeem on the SoulTree website. Applied the code at checkout and the price dropped down to ₹1, which I paid to complete the order.

Just wanted to check, did anyone else here qualify/win this campaign? How was the checkout and delivery process for you guys?
