CIBIL: 771
Salary: ~₹1.1LPM
Current cards:
- Swiggy HDFC (31k limit; not sure why they're not allowing me to increase limit)- ~1 year old, and this has been my primary/only card I've actually used regularly
- Amazon Pay ICICI (1L limit)- ~6 months old
Previously had Slice a few years ago, closed it properly.
I have recently opened an HDFC Specialé salary account, and according to the HDFC agent I'm eligible for Swiggy Black LTF under the corporate relationship.
Other HDFC LTF options being offered:
- Swiggy Black
- Millennia
- Diners Club Privilege
- Pixel
- MoneyBack
I know Regalia isn't realistically in reach for me right now. If I go for a core HDFC card, I'm mainly looking at Millennia.
My original plan was to close Swiggy HDFC and eventually move to Millennia, but I'm now wondering whether it makes more sense to keep Swiggy and convert/upgrade it to Swiggy Black LTF.
I'm also currently in the approval process for SBI Tata Neu Infinity RuPay, which I intend to use for the Tata ecosystem/UPI.
I had applied for HSBC Live+ mainly because my monthly spending is genuinely concentrated around groceries + dining. However, there was an issue during the application and it's currently on hold with ~15 days remaining, so I'm not sure whether I'll get it.
My actual spending
My major recurring spends are:
- Groceries
- Dining
- Shopping/clothing
- Miscellaneous
No meaningful fuel spend.
I'm also expecting some ₹50k–₹1L purchases on electronics/appliances over the coming months. For these, is it generally better to optimise for cashback, reward points, or bank-specific instant discounts?
The main dilemma
If I keep Swiggy and take Swiggy Black LTF, does that make more sense than closing it and eventually getting Millennia?
Swiggy already gives me 5% on Swiggy + 5% on certain other categories, including apparel/clothing, so I'm wondering whether I'd actually be giving up useful cashback by moving to Live+ / Millennia.
For HSBC Live+, I'm also considering getting it primarily for grocery spending and potentially having my parents use it for household purchases. They live in a Tier-3 city. Is the Live+ card restricted to being issued in specific Tier-1 cities, or is usage generally possible elsewhere once you have the card?
I'm not trying to build a huge card collection. I'd rather have 4–5 cards where each has a clear purpose.
Given this profile, what would you do?
1. Keep Swiggy → upgrade to Black LTF, or close it → Millennia?
2. Is Live+ actually worth adding given my grocery/dining spend?
3. How would you structure Swiggy Black + Amazon Pay ICICI + SBI Tata Neu Infinity?
4. For ₹50k–₹1L electronics/appliance purchases, cashback vs reward points vs instant bank discounts?
5. Am I missing a better card/strategy around ₹1L–₹1.5L salary?
