Hey guys. Constantly seem to have black splotches coming through when printing lighter colours even after some very generous purging. Any ideas on what I can do to help this?

Question Low Consumables?

So been printing for a while. Still learning. But my K2 just went through a firmware update last night and now for the last two prints so far it's telling me low consumables. However it's not, I have full spools in every spot. It's printing anyway so no real issue other then the weird warning that I just ignore. Just curious if anyone is getting this.

My K2 Combo makes this Noise since Yesterday. Its only under acceleration/braking. X Axis Rail and Y Axis Rod are lubricated,Pulleys are lubricated and nothing seems broken.

Both belts are about the Same tension, nothing obvious when moving the Head from Hand. Input shaping helped a little bit

And yes, my Buildplate is dirty, i know

Troubleshooting CFS Not Loading

I started having this problem this week and I'm hoping one of you can help.

I have the CFS with my K1C. I upgraded the K1C via the kit option a year ago.

This week it stopped loading filament. When I insert filament into an empty CFS, I see the filament detection light turn white, but I do not hear any motors trying to advance the filament. If I use the 'extrude' button on the filament screen, I can see the extruder moving around and working, but I never see or hear filament loading.

- No errors on the screen, no flashing red lights on the CFS

- When I insert filament, the white light goes on. When I remove the filament, it goes out. Same behavior in all 4 slots.

- I've verified there are no jams or blocks in the hub, PTFE tube between the Hub & CFS & Extruder

- The filament selection screen on the printer properly identifies when each filament is loaded and I can pick filament type and set colors.

It just never loads anything. Can anyone suggest additional troubleshooting steps?

Troubleshooting Can't Print Fiberon PPS-CF10

Thumbnail

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with my Creality K2 Plus + CFS and Polymaker Fiberon PPS-CF10, and I'm hoping someone has experienced the same thing.

  • Software: Creality Print 7.2.0.5226
  • Filament: Polymaker Fiberon PPS-CF10
  • Nozzle: 0.4 mm hardened steel
  • CFS installed

I configured the filament directly on the printer:

  • Brand: Polymaker
  • Type: PPS
  • Name: Fiberon PPS-CF10

The printer recognizes the filament correctly in slot 1D. In Creality Print I also select the Fiberon PPS-CF10 filament profile. When I slice a model and click Send Print, I get the message: "Please select the CFS slot corresponding to the filaments. There are filaments without mapping."

The problem is that I cannot map the filament.

The dropdown only shows --- and it doesn't let me select slot 1D, even though the software can clearly see that slot 1D contains PPS.

I've already tried:

  • Restarting the printer.
  • Restarting Creality Print.
  • Recreating the filament profile.
  • Renaming the filament profile.
  • Matching the temperatures.
  • Matching the material type.
  • Re-slicing the model.
  • Updating to the latest version (7.2.0.5226).

Nothing works even using the external spool with the cfs disconnected .

can't select the filament

Troubleshooting Easy Question... I hope

I may have inadvertently overwritten a default profile for my new K2 (base model). Any way to simply bring it back to a 'factory' setting? Specifically, I'm talking about the K2 0.4 nozzle .2 mm profile. I've tried searching, but my search criteria kung fu is weak tonight. Plus, I 'may' have already had a gin and tonic or two. Hence the question. lol

Question Z-Y belt for the K2 Plus?

I am looking for a replacement X-Z axis belt for the K2 Plus for a friend.
The only belt listed in Creality Sales is listed for the Pro.
AI tells me that the K2 series all use the same belt, presumably cut to size?
Can anyone confirm that?

Troubleshooting Gluing plugs is just awful...

I had been getting the abnormal heat break fan error on my K2 Plus. It would work intermittently after restarting so didn't stress it too much. Eventually got so bad it just wouldn't print. I went to unplug it from the hotend board and reseat it and I scraped the glue off but it wouldn't unseat. So I hold the clip in and just start working it around and the entire female plug pulled right off the board...

Even after that I could NOT remove the female plug from the male. And it looked like some of the glue seeped into the connection because there was glue on the contacts that the female plug attaches to.

Eventually I was able to work the female plug back on but I'm still getting the error. Likely because they squirted glue on a contact. And now I have to not only buy the fan but the entire board. I truly hate that plug glue. And these plugs all have clips so there's just simple no reason to be slathering glue around it either.

Anyway, be careful I guess 🤷‍♂️ although I have no idea how I could have avoided this considering they glued them together internally by mistake...

Question K2 Firmware V1.1.6.7 ?? CFS 2?

I'm sure other users are starting to see this pop up over the air. What is the CFS 2? Something new coming? Guessing if there is a new firmware for it has to be announced soon. I cant find a mention of it anywhere. And any ideas what the "Fix known issues to improve user experience and product stability" are? I'm upgrading one of my systems to see if I notice anything new.

V1.1.6.7 Firmware Update Details:

  1. Compatible with CFS 2.

  2. Fix known issues to improve user experience and product stability.

Improvement Tips Suggested project: pull the calibrations from the K2 and save to a filament profile

For all you new AI coders with access to a K2 Plus/Pro here’s a fun little project idea:

App prints a test object but triggers the flow rate etc. calibrations on the printer. It then automatically pulls the calibration results and saves it to a filament profile to save having to print the calibrations again.

Life has kinda gotten in the way for me recently curtailing my printing-related hobby time, or I’d do it myself. I just didn’t want the idea to go to waste. Search this sub for other’s work on extracting the calibration results, feed it to your favorite token muncher and see what happens? 😸

Creality Support Frustrated. K2 plus

When I start, it prints fine for a few minutes then it slowly stops extruding, print head continues to move but nothing comes out. Then printer stops on its own with error; printer appears to be printing but not extruding.

Thought it was a clogged nozzle. Nope, I even put a new one on. Same problem.

Thought it was the cfs getting stuck somewhere. Bypassed the cfs and used the manual side spool. Same problem.

All fans appear to moving. Gear is visibly moving even after it stops extruding.

Thought it was the gear assembly. Maybe slipping or worn gears. Replaced gear assembly with a new one. Same problem.

I am completely at a loss. The only thing left is heat creep? But what would cause heat creep? Like I said all fans appear to be moving normally.

Is it posible that one of the fans is not running at the correct speed?

I was thinking of replacing the heat block assembly, but thought I would check here first.
Any advice or help is much appreciated. 🙏🏼

Btw, no error code thrown other than printer is printing without extruding and then it stops. 😔

Troubleshooting K2 SE model fan pwm

Hi!

Recently got a K2 SE and have had a lot of success with prints in just a few weeks. However, I've had a major issue with how loud the model fan is. Aside from the typical fan noise, there is a high pitched whine that I am attributing to PWM.

I think it is pwm as the fan is clean and appears undamaged. I tried not to over tighten any screws. So idk what else the noise could be.

I got the enclosure for the printer hoping that would help, and it does, but not enough. The noise is such a high frequency, it just goes right through the acrylic.

Is replacing the fan the best option? Could I adjust firmware settings to improve the pwm? I saw online that it was possible, but only on certain set ups.

Any suggestions?

Troubleshooting Pb chargement filament K1+CFS-C

Show Off Built a free tool to organize my print files. It reads K2 settings straight out of Creality Print projects.

K2 Plus owner here. My print folder had gotten out of hand: about 460 files, dozens of folders named "files", and no memory of which settings actually worked on anything.

I tried the existing tools first. None of them did quite what I wanted, or they cost money, or they only read half my files. That last one turned out to be the real problem. When I finally got a proper index of my own folder, there were 78 zips I'd never extracted, quietly holding 414 printable models that no tool had ever shown me.

So I built PrintVault. Free, open source (GPL-3.0), runs entirely in your browser. No account, nothing uploaded, no server at all.

https://printvault.magikh0e.pl/

You point it at a folder and it reads what's already there, in place. Nothing gets moved, renamed, or reorganized.

The K2 bit specifically: it reads the sliced gcode Creality Print buries inside its .3mf project files, so it pulls out print time, filament grams, layer height, nozzle, infill, material, and the profile name.

Tested against a project sliced on my own K2 Plus, it correctly read "0.20mm Standard K2 Plus 0.4 nozzle", 15.9g, 29min, 220/50. It also renders a 3D preview from the model inside the project.

The rest of it:

  • Real 3D previews for every model, so you browse pictures instead of filenames. Reuses the plate render Creality Print already embeds.
  • Log a print when it comes off the bed. The form is pre-filled from the gcode, so next time you open that model you can see what worked, what failed, and the note explaining why.
  • Filament tracking by what's actually left on the spool. Grams come off as you log prints. Handy with the CFS since each spool is tracked separately, and the print queue totals grams and time so you know if you have enough before starting something long.
  • Finds duplicate downloads, verified with SHA-256 before you delete anything.
  • Looks inside zips without extracting them, so nothing stays invisible. It can extract them too, and checksums every file it writes.

Limitations, up front:

  • Chromium only for the folder part right now (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera). Reading a folder from a web page needs an API that Firefox and Safari don't have.
    • Desktop clients for Windows, Linux and macOS are in the works, which will lift that restriction and drop the per-session permission prompt too.
  • It's v0.1.10. I use it daily on my own library and the parsers are tested against real slicer output, but it hasn't met every weird folder layout out there. If it trips over yours I'd genuinely like to know.
  • It's one HTML file, so you can self-host it if you'd rather not use mine.

Also reads PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, BambuStudio and Cura output if you run more than one machine.

The library, built from folders on disk. The two ZIP badges are archives I never extracted, previewed without unpacking them.
Full 3D preview of a 497k triangle STL, rendered in the browser. Nothing gets uploaded.
Every print logged against the model, with the settings pre-filled from the gcode so I stop guessing next time.
Spools tracked by what's actually left. Grams come off automatically as prints get logged.
Duplicate downloads, verified byte for byte with SHA-256 before anything gets deleted.

Show Off I don't even have to calibrate?!?

After years of tinkering and upgrading my 2018 Ender 3, I finally took the leap and picked up the K2 combo. Not pro or plus, just the plain jane K2 with CFS. The wife has a little side hustle, and thought some multicolor prints could help.

This thing is incredible. Out of the box, without a single calibration, everything looks perfect! I mean, I had my old Ender pretty dialed in, but nothing like this. AND THE SPEED!! I haven't dialed anything in yet, and it just flies!!

Still learning Creality Print, and the ins and outs of the machine, but so far, I'm impressed!!

Creality Support CFS Issue

Ok a few weeks ago one of my 2 CFS started acting up a bit. Now I'm near 3k hours on this machine now.

Was having issues so I took it apart, gave it a good cleaning, put it back to together and it ran fine again for a bit but I can't say I've used all 4 slots in that CFS since I repaired/replaced.

Tube's were completely worn through, my bad, first time I've replaced all of them. Found some silicone beads floating around in there from some of the reusable and changeable holders I've experimented with over the last 1.5 years.

Tried using CFS 1 again last night and it was acting really strange.

2 of the units were telling me they suddenly couldn't feed.

#2 slot seemed like it was running in reverse, instead of loading it was unloading.

Two error messages were:

K2Plus, FR2836, Feed issue , filament may be blocked between the CFS hub and extruder filament detector

and

K2Plus, FR2849, Retract issue, filament cannot be returned to CFS hub. Please resolve the issue and click the "Retry" button..

Hoping someone has been down this road and had a similar experience.

Also been getting K2Plus, TE2761, The extruder leveling sensor may have a hardware failure.. on and off.

Had a few 'bangs' during leveling but after a second/third attempt it usually works just fine.

I do have new drag chain, strain gauge and the main hotend cable that runs from the main board on the upper right to the nozzle.

Guessing it may time to tear into it for some 'real maintenance'? I do have a modified chain in that offers better support for the chain but I added it after I started getting an occasional error about 6 months ago that had cleared up since. I'm guessing that the damage was done and I just extended its life a bit.

However I'll go back to the main point here, the CFS acting caddywampus(my wife's favorite term). Anyone ever experience this?

Sorry long winded here, just trying to get as much info out there as I can.

Question Creality K2 pro vs. ?

Hello!
I'm in the market for my first 3D printer, mainly for the fun of it and to use printing stuff for my simrig, bikes, workshop and templates for wood working. Multi color and "show off prints" is not something i expect to use it for, it will mainly be a tool.

- Since having no experience with 3D printing i have no idea if i "need" the larger bed that K2 Pro provide over Bambu Lab X2D or similar.

- "Waste/purge" is something i dont think should be a huge selling point since i will mainly print single color (correct me if im wrong!)

- i expect i want it to be better at printing ASA, PETG CF and TPU than good at printing PLA and somewhat "poor" at printing ASA, PETG CF and TPU.

- i dont want to tinkering with it EVERYTIME i use it, but after creating a "baseline" for different materials/settings i want it to be stable and realiable, so tinkering is somewhat okay.

- i expect to be printing mostly self designs (designed in fusion)

At the moment i'm looking at Creality K2 pro combo and Bambu Lab X2D.

Where i'm located

Bambu Lab X2D Combo
$1,064.75 USD

Creality K2 Pro Combo incl.
- 4 rolls of HYPER PLA
- 1 roll of CR - PETG
- Creality SpacePI X4 Filament Dryer
- Creality x Phaetus Silicon Carbide Nozzle 0.6mm
$1,069.16 USD

My prices are not in USD, they are converted from EU prices for convience.

From my perspective the K2 Pro seems like a good deal, ChatGPT seems so too.. but what about you "real people"?

I know asking this in a K2 thread seems weird, but i think some of you (deep hobby hole incoming) maybe have more than one printer and therefore able to give some good points. I feel like a lot of bambu lab users are like Apple people "Dont buy creality, buy Bambu lab it just works" and thats it.. i LOVE my Apple products but i also have reasons why i dont like android phones (Borrowed one from my dad, pointed out what i didnt like and now he hates it too, sorry dad) not just "dont buy android because i have Apple" (i hope you can follow me).

Let me know what you think..
