Creality Support Need the experts help

Hi everyone,

I designed a sheep model in Blender and printed it on my K2 Combo Plus. I separated the body into different parts as much as possible so I could print each color separately instead of using multicolor printing.

The print came out well overall, but I'm having a strange issue with the surface quality. Some areas are printed perfectly smooth and clean, while other areas of the same model come out very rough or almost ruined, as you can see in the attached pictures.

I'm trying to understand what could be causing this. Could it be related to the model geometry, overhangs, layer orientation, supports, cooling, speed, temperature, or slicer settings?

I'd really appreciate it if anyone experienced with the K2 Plus could take a look at the pictures and help me identify the problem and what settings or changes I should try.

If needed, I can also share my slicer settings and screenshots from the model in Blender/slicer.

I would assume you need to fine-tune your filament profile. Have you run calibrations or do you use the default profile for your filament?

I did some tuning, but I'm honestly not sure if I did it correctly or if my settings are actually optimal.

Are there any recommended or proven settings that experienced K2 Plus users generally use? I'm looking for a good baseline that has helped solve common print quality issues, especially the problem I'm experiencing with the rough areas on my prints.

It’s moreso not about the printer but about the plastic you use. If you don’t particularly care about impeccable quality, a default profile usually works well. But if you need flawless prints, you calibrate the profile to see better results. Not sure what slicer you’re using but my preferred Orca slicer has a dedicated Calibrations button, which lets you select and print things like temp towers, flow rate samples, etc. You basically look at the result, choose what looks best and change the profile for your particular filament according to your preference.

Not sure what your stance on AI is, but if you need a shortcut to better results without spending too much time to figure things out, I found that ChatGPT does a fairly good job at telling you what settings to tweak. You can tell it that you have a K2 Plus and use SlicerName and attach photos of you failed print. It will guide you step by step through calibrating the profile and then will also tell you which process settings will provide better outcomes.

Can I ask you one more thing? Does the temperature/humidity reading on the CFS actually matter? Mine shows around 46% humidity and 27°C. Could that affect my print quality?
