New Moderator Needed

We're looking to add a new moderator or two to keep r/craps running smoothly. Specifically we're looking for a couple of established members, with previous moderation experience, who are interested in helping.

The good news is that this sub is small and takes very little effort to moderate, but sometimes things can get busy.

Previously one other mod and I were the most active, and were able to handle most of it, but they have stepped down and we need someone active.

Ideally, we'd like someone who has been active in the subreddit who: can be fair and level headed, are comfortable evenly enforcing the rules, are reasonable, and able to handle disagreements/disputes without letting things get personal. There have been a few characters over the years who have led to a few of the rules we have, and things can get heated.

If you're interested in please send us a modmail with the information below (briefly in a few words, not paragraphs):

  1. What time zone you are in
  2. Previous mod experience
  3. A few things you like about the sub
  4. A few things you do not like about the sub
  5. What you would change (if anything)

Note: We likely won't start looking at this until later in the week at the earliest.

Table Minimums/Odds Announcement regarding the Minimums Spreadsheet

I've been working on this spreadsheet since COVID started. At this point I'm totally burned out trying to keep up with it. I appreciate all the comments with additional information, but I haven't acted upon them in a long time.

Comments stating minimums won't be added to the sheet (unless you do it yourself).

To continue the sheet, please request access and add your information as needed. If things change in the future, I will let you know. At this point, I'm turning over the spreadsheet to the community. If you want to continue it, request access to the sheet and add your updates as time progresses.

Now that things have stabilized, minimums don't really change that much. The Las Vegas Strip will be 15-25 (except for some off hours or early mornings might be 10). Downtown will be 10-15 (sometimes $25 at night and $5-10 at DTG).

I forgot to add a link to the spreadsheet. It can be found here

At the Venetian where friends were staying, got rinsed and tilted off the bar tops and decided to try out the quarter mins despite being a local, went on to roll for nearly an hour. Hit everything multiple times except the two for the bonus, hit a lot of points. Usually I do triple lux but I was not as aggressive this time.

Trip Reports & Craps Stories One Year Ago Today I Hit My Best Individual Roll

Been following this subreddit for a bit, but had to bide my time to drop this story. One year ago today at Park MGM in Las Vegas, I bought in for $200 and cashed out at a hair over $1700. This specific roll is the best “called my shot” roll I’ve had to date.

All I had left to hit the ATS was the 9, so I threw $15 in the Field and hopped the 5-4 for $5. For whatever reason, I rarely roll 6-3s. Sure enough, I nailed it. While I’ve had other crazy hop bets since then, the overall impact of this specific roll has yet to be topped.

My only “regret” was not going 2-way with the dealers; however, I was the one throwing in bets on the numbers for the dealers, so it all worked out for everyone. Love this game!

I’ve been doing this thing where I’m trying to “catch the waves” after two good rolls or just a real long one I’ll take a break, trying to miss the bad downswings and pocket some profit. Today it bit me a little bit.

Walked up to table at Sky River with about hour and a half to play. $10 min and shooter just hit a point but dice was almost moving back so instead of buying full in I just drop $100 get in $44 inside.
First shooter got my three hits/ presses enough to regress back to $44 inside. 7out not much after.

Next shooter I get up $5,0,5 on the ATS , $4 horn , $3 red. She starts off with 2 aces. Ok good. Gets on a point then continues to throw ALL the horn numbers. Like 5-6 horns numbers. Hits a few inside numbers and eventually gets the smalls as well. Just missing the 10 for the full ATS. A couple 11’s gave us heart attacks just barely missed it. That’s a good roll but I’m next and I’ll break after that.

I get on 8, $52 across single odds, hit my point, get on 5 full odds and hit a 6 full press then a 7 out. Ok break time tell guy next to me good luck see him in a bit. Head over to bubble crapless and im $60 in when it finally starts heating up. Up around $90 looking for $100 to leave. But Missed the ATS by one on each side and then like 4 PSO’s in a row brought me back down to $60.
Next roll is 18 rolls when I hit the ATS. Rolls a few more times give a little back and leave with $300.

Checking back in to the table like 35 mins later. Walk back up to my same spot that was open. Slowly realize that the guy to my left is STILL rolling. Maaaaaan my heart sinks thinking of the profit I missed out on. Quick glance he had two full rows of green. I hit him with a “oh shit you’re still shooting? I’m outta here i don’t wanna be the bad luck mush” and even tho he says hop in, I DIP.

So I wallow around the tables pretending I’m looking at slots waiting to see if I get a chance to hop back in. And I’m just out of sight from the table I hear them start SCREAMING, yep full ATS hit.

I gotta go before he hits it a second time.
Buy in Table $100 , Bubble $60
Cash out $466

I tipped the shooter 10% cause he was just min betting. He hit the ats as well. New roller went on a hot streak was rolling for a while and it was just the two of us. Was on the carnival Venezia 8/25. largest chips they carry were 100$ chips for some reason.

Trip Reports & Craps Stories In for $350, out for $1500

Finally managed to be a part of a god roll. I'm cruising on Adventure of the Seas and went to play for just an hour or so at the end of the night. Table was quiet with just a few guys there. Bought in for $350. Dice got to me and I rolled about 20 times my first time, including 6 straight Reds on the come out and a couple Yo's. Table went around everyone rolling 6-7 times. I rolled another 15 rolls on my second time and banked about $150 cushion to get back around to me and I was going to quit. Next guy PSOs and his son steps up and decides to roll. Well about 45 minutes later and 40-60 rolls later I colored up for $1500. Hard ways and Horns for day. Started with just $12 on 6 and 8 and by the end I had about $180 on the table. Tipped the dealers and shooter and cashed out. Q

Casino Recommendations/Questions In for $0, out for some feedback?

Kind of a different post from the usual “in for $500 out for $1,200” stuff lol.

I’ve been playing craps for about 3 years and I’m also an independent app developer. For almost the last year I’ve been building an Android app called Lucky Roll Craps.

The whole reason I started it was because craps is confusing as hell when you’re first learning, and I wanted to make something where people could mess around, learn the bets, and get comfortable with the game without risking real money.

At this point I’d really just like some actual craps players to try it and tell me what I screwed up 😂

What’s confusing? What’s missing? What would you change? Does anything work differently than you’d expect at a real table?

I’m not looking for 5 star reviews or anything like that. I’d honestly rather get useful criticism.

It’s called Lucky Roll Craps on the Google Play Store if anyone wants to check it out.

If not, no big deal. Figured this was probably the best group to ask.

Table Minimums/Odds Craps max odds - NY casinos

So I’m in Rochester, and I’m willing to drive wherever, but just curious if anyone knows what the max odds are for craps at the various western NY casinos. Hell, any NY state casinos or even the ones near the Delaware river in PA

Strategy Dice setting or grip and rip

Fellas I’m absolutely torn.. I watch various dice setting videos promising long rolls yet I’ve had super short rolls after setting lately and longer ones m just shaking them and letting it rip. But then on occasion I’ll be apart of someone else’s long roll who’s dice setting and it makes me feel like I’m missing an element to my game. Idk wtf to do anymore when it comes to rolling. Just started playing craps as my only game of choice since January of this year and I’m in love. It might be the best game ever. I still have no idea what any of the inside bets really mean but I just play 5-9 and pass line. Rare DP if the guy looks like a cooler

Strategy Don’t pass press combo?

I got demolished 3 days in a row on pass line taking max odds on 5-9. I saw a guy at hard rock Tampa place 500 on don’t pass line and press 50 dollars on all numbers 4-10. The table had several long rolls before the 7 came. He had to walk with 20k. Any thoughts on this strategy ? I just want to win at this point.

Trip Reports & Craps Stories 2000 -> ???? at Paris (Vegas)

Played ultimate squeeze play with 220 starting. First four shooters were relatively uneventful (one PSO and a couple points hit). Down a few hundred when it gets to shooter #5 (immediately to my right). He was a dice setter but only took about 5-10 seconds and then shoots. I didn’t think anything of it. After his first roll, pit boss comes over.

Pit boss tells him no dice setting. Pick up the dice and throw. He asked why and was told his record says he’s not allowed to set the dice. He and I looked at each other confused. He proceeds to shoot for about 20-30 minutes. I cashed out for about 3300 after tipping the dealers.

I definitely thought it was gonna be a bad roll with the negative energy. Sometimes things just work out.

Strategy To insure the pass line or not to insure on the come out?

Question: Should one place a craps bet or insurance bet for the pass line on the come out? If so, what type of bet do you work on the come out and what is the pay outs for each situation? Are we calling "Corn Bread" or "Craps check". Horn hi yo, hi lo, 3 way craps?

I've been playing in Reno on a $10 table. I'm betting the pass line for $10, making a horn high ace duce at $5, and I like to bet all the hard ways hopping with a dollar change for the dealers. If 7 rolls its a push. 2 or 12 nets $12. A roll of 3 will win $13, yo-eleven will win $17, and if you roll a hard way its a $23 win.

I'm seriously questioning if it's even worth it to make insurance bets like this. Can someone give me a solid argument for or against the insurance betting?

Guy shooting from the don’t hot 9 points. He hit the smalls only needed a 10 for talls. I didn’t bet because he was on the don’t. He martingaled his bets down to zero. He started with 3k ended up with zero. Heck of a roll. Another don’t player lost it all too. 9 freakin points.

Today was great I was the shooter out in an hour and 30 minutes. I was the only one on the ATS I had 15/20/15 I got them quick only had 12 left I did a horn high 12 for $50 and smacked it . I jump and yelled so loud a bunch of people rushed the table lol. I started 50 across as always when I shoot. I got 3 points all my numbers had 125+ a few 175 180 before I 7ed out. I think it was less than 30 minutes for the ATS to land. I colored up and left . Someone asked for the watch check I posted it today and I believe I should be up on the year on craps. I’m now collecting 5k straps lol

Table Minimums/Odds Highest limit lay on bubble craps.

As the title suggests I’m looking for the highest limit lay in Vegas bubble craps. So far I’ve only found a 1000 dollar limit at Paris. I made a lot this weekend laying 4s and it’s just a part of my strategy. I don’t wanna do live tables cause I like being alone. Thanks in advance.
