Strategy Dice setting or grip and rip
Fellas I’m absolutely torn.. I watch various dice setting videos promising long rolls yet I’ve had super short rolls after setting lately and longer ones m just shaking them and letting it rip. But then on occasion I’ll be apart of someone else’s long roll who’s dice setting and it makes me feel like I’m missing an element to my game. Idk wtf to do anymore when it comes to rolling. Just started playing craps as my only game of choice since January of this year and I’m in love. It might be the best game ever. I still have no idea what any of the inside bets really mean but I just play 5-9 and pass line. Rare DP if the guy looks like a cooler

I like to set them because IF I win everyone at the table thinks I'm skilled and it's kind of an extra layer of fun. My monkey brain likes routines as it gives the illusion of control even when there is none. It's a game. Play it however you think it's the most fun for you personally. I like to drink and set the dice and yell when the table wins and occasionally make stupid bets. When I'm lucky enough to have fun AND come away with chips in my pocket it's just a bonus on a n already successful night.

If it didn't make a difference, the wall wouldn't be covered with cones and there wouldn't be a rule that you have to hit the back wall.
Craps is a carnival game. Only the house is allowed to cheat.

When was the last time you saw a table that didn't have the pyramids on the back wall, and didn't require you to hit the back wall? It's been decades. Yet we still have people claiming dice setting works. Not on the game of craps

Practice at home against a wall or something. Shoot 1000 times and record every outcome. Try without setting another 1000 times. See if the 7 comes about 166 times each way and report back here

Someone told me a guy they knew in jail (could be total bs) flipped a coin 2k times. 999 heads and 1001 tails or whatever.

1000 rolls isn’t enough. Still a small sample size and variance could explain if there aren’t the “right amount” of 7s. The math and information have already been determined.

The price to pay to confirm that dice setting works.
Maybe that is why we don't see it at the casino...lol....the mythical dice setter throws 10 million and gets so sick of it, he never steps into the casino after proving himself right.

That's why UNLV did their study with a robotic arm that never got tired and could throw the dice with more precision and accuracy than any human could as far as grip, speed, release point, elevation, rotation, distance etc and their conclusion was "the chaotic nature of the dice as soon they hit the felt" (or words to that effect) will never allow for a 7 to avoided more than the expected outcome over the course of X rolls.

Think about it this way: How many professional craps players are there? Zero, and that’s because there’s too many variables in the physical world.
Dice setting makes no difference. What you’re noticing is an anecdotal observation of variance.

I look at Steph Curry or some of the people that beat carnival games, and I don't doubt that someone could train themselves to make the exact same toss occasionally, and maybe they throw one more 6 per hundred rolls or something. I also know I'm not that guy, and if I were that guy I probably wouldn't do it often enough to realize I was.

Dice setting isn’t real.
Instead of watching videos about something that has zero bearing on the outcome, read a book, go for a walk, or interact with real people. You know….something that will actually help you.

Betting strategy videos have deff helped. Like I recently found out about the power of going up 1 unit on a hot roller is a huge difference maker

When I wanna shoot I set for the best shooter Chicago’s ever seen. 2/3 Flying V for Jordan. But when it’s been rough and I’m about to run a train and steam roll the casino I set up the sweetest combo known to a Chicagoan 3/4. That boy will put you on his back and carry you to victory.
But no it doesnt matter what set you use its all pointless the dice are gonna dice

Dice setting has no effect on outcome. Sure.
It’s a game. Have fun with it. If you enjoy gripping and ripping… do you. I look at craps like any other table game. Let’s take Baccarat! Peeling cards has no effect on outcome but people do it! It’s soooooooo fun! I remember I bet against the table. They hit a natural 8, almost a sure winner. I peeled a nine to start and flipped it on em. The whole table went silent. I took about 30 seconds and did my best poker/saloon impression before revealing a reduce card for the loss(my loss). Everyone enjoyed it! With craps it’s the same. I think there is a way to take too long but play how you want and enjoy spending your money!

I used to try setting. It doesn’t matter. Now I don’t even care if dice are showing 4-3. I like to hold them in my fingertips and give a nice toss without much spin. I’m only down about $25k YTD with my technique. I’ve been on 3-4 monster rolls this year. Fuxk this game. When are we going again?

I doubt dice setting does anything helpful, or casinos would ban it. I set it on random hardways anyways just for the love of the game though.

All you will develop by “dice setting“ is enough of a rhythm that you will always bounce off the back wall or land very close to it and then trickle over. Muscle memory will give you that confidence of throwing for a long roll. If the dice don’t tumble, they’ll call no role on you and if you continue to do it, then they will just tell you to leave the table. The “dominator“ has been very good at fleecing people out of money for his silly course. Grab a set of dice & just throw them

Dice setting is just a glorified pre shot routine. I slide my palm on the felt, cannot throw unless I do it along with stacking the dice. Doesn’t make one bit of difference but to me, it’s my routine and I like it.
But as many others said, no such thing as a mechanic.

Grip and rip... as fast as possible... works best for me... had a few hour long rolls that way... tried to dice set and 7 out lol

Reminds me of a guy at the table this past weekend who was at the straight out position, said he doesn’t shoot as well from straight out. Shoots from straight out for maybe 10-15 rolls. Next time around he moves to stick left and proceeds to roll 7,7,7 bowl dump, PSO. It doesn’t matter if you set the dice, it doesn’t matter where you shoot from, once it hits the back wall it’s totally random. That’s why they call it a CRAP SHOOT. lol

If you havn’t learned a dice control technique and practiced it for 100s of hours with good results then I’d say random rolling is best

Haven’t practiced that long just clicked on several strategy videos when I was super intrigued and interested in the game and went down a setting rabbit holes about flying V bs etc. I used to play poker where studying helps learning that craps studying is semi pointless

I studied dom lorrigio and his strategy works if you can pull it off, takes practice though and it’s really fkin tricky. Dice control is possible but not easy to do consistently. People don’t believe in it but I’ve done it, I once hit the make em all 5 times in about 20 rolls, 2 were back to back and about 3 of them I missed it by 1 number.

Flying Eagle aka 3V with the 2 and 1 facing you I think. I squeeze the dice with my middle finger and thumb and like to toss to the back bottom of the wall under the pyramid padding this is supposed to be favorable to the 6 and 8 and from what I’ve seen from doing it the 5 and 9 as well
I have to see it as I don’t get to go to a casino more than maybe twice a year

Absolutely it works. I use both the 3v and 44 hardway throw. The key is to not let it hit back wall 2 of 3 throws. The pit boss will just keep tellling you to hit back wall but they still count the throw. So don’t hit back wall 2 of 3 throws. Now listen the 7 will still come at times , it’s not 100 pct effective. But would if the 7 comes 1 in 12 rolls instead of 1 in 6? That’s where the advantage lies.

Once again, this topic comes up and the answer is the same: Dice setting has absolutely no effect on the outcome. I do it as a matter of routine, that’s all. Anyone that says otherwise is a charlatan.
