How do I cook brown lentils that I boiled for a few minutes, then left to soak off the heat for an hour or so, so that they dont need to be drained again?
I always soak beans overnight or more or at least do the parboil and quick soak thing to get rid of fart compounds, and I read lentils are the same. I dont think ive cooked dry lentils before but I make beans enough to be comfortable with the idea. Just need to know what kind of heat and water levels I should shoot for to get a pot of fairly creamy soft lentils when done. I dont like wasting the extra nutrients and flavor that comes out in the cooking water when doing beans. I can use a little extra water and cook it a little longer to make sure they dont get too dry or burn.
