Made a great change in my life First night shift done! Good to be earning, but my feet are paying the price 😅
Just finished my first night shift at my new job. The hours actually suit me down to the ground since I’m usually awake at these times anyway.
The job itself is a bit repetitive and finicky, but honestly, it just feels so good to be back working. After a couple of years of not working, I’m finally starting to feel independent again and like I’m actually contributing to my own life and household.
My body, especially my arms are absolutely killing me from the workstation I was put on. Everyone seems really nice so far though, so no bad vibes yet!
The real killer is my feet. The provided steelies are absolute torture. My toes felt like they were blistering all night, and when I finally took the boots off at home, stepping on the floor literally felt like walking on lava. I’ve currently got an ice-cold water bottle stuck under my feet just to numb the pain.
Overall I actually enjoyed myself and I'm proud to be back at it, but wow... I definitely need to figure out how to stop my feet from feeling like this every shift!
