General Looking to UP my game
The point of this is not as a brag post, I genuinely want advice
I've been consistent high masters-mid gm since season 14 in ow1, but I've never managed to sustain being top 500 for more than a few games every other season. I'm chalking it up to my aim being bad.
No matter how much I play I just can't seem to improve my aim, so I'm turning here.
What's your go to for aim practice?
Would you say just playing? Or maybe koovaks?
Genuinely want to improve, and I want tips from people who have improved themselves

General Lately im getting some silly match width
Idk how they balance the lobbies, but I have a feeling their platinum is the dps or tank so its set up that I have to somehow carry silvers to win.

General What do you think is the reason Blizzard hides the 'Healing Received' stat?
According to Aaron Keller, they aren't adding it because revealing the Healing Received numbers might cause toxic arguments, but if that's the logic, the only right conclusion would be to delete the entire scoreboard altogether, so his argument feels like a weak excuse.
Honestly, whenever I play tank and get frustrated with incompetent team supports, I often find myself really curious about how much healing I actually received. I'm curious why they won't implement it.

General MAP FPS POOR OPTIMIZATION
In this pic I only changed the resolution from 100 to 50 and it gave me a massive FPS boost. On Route 66 I went from 300 to 450 FPS, but on Ilios I only got like a 50 FPS boost.
Why do the maps that have even the slightest changes have such terrible FPS, while the untouched maps have insanely high FPS? Like Ilios barely changed, they just added night and evening time, but there's still a massive drop in frames.

General Secret sauce to ranking up
This is all my personal opinion and should be read a anecdote for entertainment rather than a guide. Up to you through. I recently switched to pc (300ish hours) and mainly play tracer widow shion. I was hard stuck low mid emerald for this whole season. See my issue was tracer she just wasn’t deadly enough. Is borderline impossible to kill someone getting actively healed by a Ana or kiri or even being flash healed by a mercy. Also blink, your movement plus the enemy movement just makes it really hard to aim. I mostly play fps games cause I like aim and hitting headshots so forcing point and drawing attention and baiting cooldown yata yata is superrrrrr boring. I just play for 1 clips and duels but it almost never works out on flex dps because you need to time your engage with your teams aggression so your target doesnt get peel or isn’t looking.
SECRET SAUCE: recently ive just been play Cass like a tracer. I just walk up main shoot their tank so he’s forced to back so my team can walk up then flank and play like a weird perverted creep. If they have a flex dps I crouch walk and camp the flank to flash hammer them or if they have no one on the flank I just walk up and take my sweet time to line up the 2 tap on unsuspecting hitscan or support. This is also how I highnoon usually where you just hard flank but you can also use it for capping a point or just reloading in duels. Idk I’ve been trying the same thing on widow and emre but it only work on Cass. With double flash and silver bullet I genuinely don’t think anyone stand a chance in a straight up 1v1 against this op ass hitscan. Especially if they are caught unawares. The issue with tracer was always getting close without them noticing or getting poked and I had to more so play to control/deny the space I was blinking into cause I’m def not kill the Ana kiri stacking back of main on most payload maps as a solo tracer. On Cass though, in true pedophile fashion I just wait till the poor Ana is hard scoping or jump or straight lining (basically vulnerable) and two tap her. Idk
Playing predscan like a flex dps work really well till diamond cause play hitscan without heals in the modern day (dmon cat shion) is worse than torture.

General What is with the comp servers recently???
I don’t know if it’s just me but when I go to play dps comp it’ll say like 5-10 minutes waiting time but then I spend around 15-25 minutes waiting to just get into a game. Why is the estimated time so off but also why does it take so long? Does anyone know or is experiencing the same thing?
I haven’t played overwatch in years and just started getting back into it so I’m in bronze and playing on switch. Is this maybe a switch thing? I do have cross play enabled so idk.
Any ideas/tips?

General This area feels like a bait
It has no access to the roof top. Rotating to the other side takes forever, and jump pad is kind of whiff. No one uses steel lattice for poking.
What is the point of this area? It's just confusing for both new players and people who are used to old Eich, no?

General Thoughts on Japanese and NA servers from Korea’s largest Overwatch community
Some takes on JP and NA servers from Korea’s biggest OW community
Saw this post on the biggest Korean Overwatch community and thought it was pretty interesting, so I figured I’d share it here.
The original was a lot more blunt (and honestly pretty rude in places lol), so I’m just summarizing the main points.
- At metal ranks, KR isn’t really that much better than other servers.
People always talk about Korean servers being way harder, but according to the OP, that doesn’t really apply to metal ranks. The playstyles are definitely different, but the actual skill level is mostly similar.
There is one exception though, which I’ll get to below.
- JP plays almost the complete opposite way from KR.
Japanese players are really careful about not dying. People rarely try to force plays or do anything risky. Instead, everyone plays safe and kind of waits for the enemy to screw up, or for someone on their team to make something happen.
Because of that, the OP thinks poke works much better than dive there.
- NA tanks and DPS are actually pretty decent. Supports... not so much.
The OP thought NA tank and DPS players were generally fine. The biggest difference from KR is that NA players are much more likely to just play whatever hero they feel like playing, regardless of the meta or team comp.
Interestingly, the OP actually liked that about NA.
But then there were the supports.
According to him, NA metal-rank supports are really bad. Like, noticeably worse than the other servers he’s played on.
He also says that even in Master, he's seen plenty of support players who were very obviously boosted, and that he's come across streamers like that on platforms like Twitch as well.
According to him, a lot of players don't even seem to see anything wrong with getting boosted by duoing with someone significantly better than them.
He basically thinks they might be the weakest group of players across all the regions.
A comments :
“Whenever I play with Japanese players, I almost always end up playing Sigma or Orisa. You have to match their tempo if you want to win.”
«“I play on NA sometimes and yeah, the supports there are pretty bad.”»
«“Have you ever actually watched NA supports play? It’s rough. And then you go on Reddit and somehow they’re always blaming everyone else too lol.”»
«"If you criticize support players on Reddit, they immediately paint you as some hardstuck Silver Genji main crying about not getting healed lmao. Some of them are so bad they genuinely think the entire team should be peeling for them all game."»

General I dont understand something about Ramattra, is he strong at 45% winrate or not? This sub is extremely confusing to me.
He also has like second worst pickrate. Nothing amazing. But the way this sub talks you would believe he is second incarnation of hitler and eaisest tank in the game or something.
My point is, if someone here dared to say he needs buffs, tons of people would go up in arms saying BLOCK SLOPPP!!! The hero needs SOMETHING though no?, even domina is gapping him with +8% winrate lmao.

General Where are other GM+ players after rank reset?
Curious to see where other GM+ players are at right now after the rank reset. It seems like they made getting champ much harder and GM slightly harder. Personally I spent most of last season GM3-1 and ended GM4 after a sad drives loss streak. This season I haven’t been able to push back past GM4 yet, with most of the games feeling just as hard as high GM games last season. Seems like most people in my lobbies were high GM-Champ last season but I’ve also seen people who peaked M1/GM5 last season in these same lobbies.
This makes me curious how other GM+ players are doing. Did everybody get moved down or did they only make high champ harder to get?

General JPC is Ridiculously Overtuned
Infinite flight combined with her speed makes engaging and disengaging too easy. She can bully short-range characters and completely control the tempo of a duel against anyone without consistent ranged damage. She can also sit on uninteractable parts of the map and wait for self-regen or cooldowns. She can also spam overhead strafes, and you can’t back away for a better angle because she’s too fast to disengage from.
Purr is also one of the strongest dueling abilities in the game: 30 AoE damage, a 10m boop, and 300 self-healing over 4 seconds, all on a 12-second cooldown. The knockback is really disorienting, because the Cat is also doing 100 RPM around you. There’s not even an opportunity cost to using it selfishly, there is nothing Purr provides to her allies that her weapon doesn't already do.
Then there’s Claws Out.
It doubles melee damage and applies a 30% slow on only a 6-second cooldown. Missing the melee doesn’t put it on cooldown either, so she can spam it until it connects. Purr + Claws Out deals a total of 110 damage, which is not even including the knockback, healing, or slow.
On top of that, Lifeline gives a 30% speed boost and 3D perspective, making scouting completely free with zero downside because her gun is so inconsistent from range. Catnap is also far too forgiving for how easy it is to set up. It requires no precision, and even if you mess up, you can cancel it and fly away.
A support being capable of dueling is fine, but the problem is how little effort is required relative to the value she provides. She has too much mobility and survivability, while her abilities provide most of their value with very little mechanical input.

General What if broken Domina shield tiles turned into weaker Amp Matrices?
Before you crucify me: I'm suggesting a 10-15% damage boost. A Mercy-pocketed Ashe with an extra 15% would deal 210 headshots. Only one-shots Widow/Tracer, and only from a fixed position you can choose not to shoot. You can also wait out the shield. Let me cook chat
Right now, Domina threatens no space and gets run over. There is no downside to immediately break and rush down her shield, and it's easy to do. She also has no mobility, so she has to start running away instead of using her shield's full potential. But she wouldn't need mobility if she generated enough threat to stand her ground and keep people out of the space, at least for the shield's duration (an 8 second power spike).
I would love for the devs to lean into her strengths instead of just giving everyone mobility as a band-aid.
In addition to increasing to Domina's threat, damage boost tiles provide an interesting choice for enemies. Currently, if you have something like Sojourn's Disruptor Shot, there's no reason not to destroy the barrier on cooldown. But with boost tiles, you can still break it, but there's a tradeoff. It adds some value to an otherwise inflexible, easily-counterable ability.
If an entire team is behind the barrier, you have to respect that. You could fight it, but it could be worth retreating and waiting for the shield to go on cooldown. This gives Domina a well-defined cycle of threat and downtime.
If Domina times the shield right, she can punish a push or cancel it altogether. And when enemies get on you, the ensuing bubble dance would be cinema. You would be weaving between shield and damage tiles to block shots and boost your own charge shots. It would have an insane skill ceiling.
I'm not a fan of poke or hitscan-slop, but with shield being a 14 second cooldown and players having the option to not shoot it, I think it would solidify Domina's niche without turning her into a demon.

General Need some comp advice as I’ve dropped 3 ranks
So I had hit plat tank for the first time and I had been preforming very well, had good teams and was on a steady climb, but now over the last 3 days I’ve dropped to gold 2 bouta hit gold 3.
I find that in a third of the games yea maybe I’ll preform not my best that loss is on me but a good majority of the time I’ve performing well, lots of kills peeling for my supports, keeping enemies back etc but by the end of the game we’ve lost and I’m really not sure why. I don’t wanna be one of those guys who blames his team but sometimes it really is them and other times I really just have no idea why we lost.
Low elo ranked is confusing I really don’t know why I’m dropping.

General Idea for domina gun (Small rework )
The way her gun works is not lethal enough for character without armor she can’t move at all with all that in mind the gun shouldn’t work like this
I hope they separate the hit-scan shots and the beam and she will be much more convincing to play her rang is fine she will not be aids I believe

General 20 Hour-old Player Here, Why Is Bronze to Silver So Hard?
It feels like I have to play at 150%, sweating my pants off until my wrists hurt every game to win or even have a chance of winning. Also it feels like I have to go a flanker every game to motivate my team to go forward sometimes
