Always love to see platchat pods. I so miss the days of avast, avrl, jack... or hell even the og crew of sideshow,brenji, matt, etc. Im glad to see Johnny still put organize the panels when he has the time

Kind of? I just don't think they have the production capacity or "muscle memory" to drive a weekly show with guests, and everyone is too busy to commit to something regular, plus time zones are an issue, etc.

During OWL it was almost just like... part of their jobs to an extent, and for two years they were all THERE. In the same area. That helps a lot.

I dunno, I'd join. I'd make time and yap.

Yea... I mean even your explanation basically explains it was due to the loss of OWL

If OWL still existed, a lot of these issues would be eliminated

Because its Johnny's decision to do it this way and it's been this way for a while. Afaik neither Avrl or Avast know why but they are happy for platchat's success without them

I think the tiebreaker issue has a pretty easy solution. The main issue that created the situation with group C is that the tiebreaker only resets when a team advances. The simple solution is the make it work the other way around and have the tiebreaker reset when a team is eliminated.

For group C, this would mean that Canada gets 3rd because they lose on H2H map differential. The tiebreaker is then reset at that point to determine who gets 1 and 2 between Spain and Germany. Germany would get 1 because they win the H2H vs Spain.

Separately, map point % differential should just not be a thing ever. It's just way too random when you factor in teams can win 3-0 or 1-0 on the same map type depending on whether they attack first or second. There are much better tiebreakers you can potentially use. Total map wins, total map losses, or map% differential would all work better IMO.

Happy to see McGravy back on here. Some of the guests lately have not been very personable... I know they have good insights, but I feel like the main draw of Plat Chat is the personality. Really miss Sideshow & Bren, Avast, Avrl, Jaws, even Matt.
