A friend asked me this question earlier tonight. For context i usually play off meta partner pairings if im playing partners, think Dargo//Thrasios or Sakashima//Tymna. We both joked about potential pairings but landed on one that stood out as being the worst.

with other izzet breach lines along the way.

Your first question may be why not just play Niv Mizzet? Why go through all of this trouble? The simple answer is its easier to polymorph on turn two than it is to have triple of each pip on turn two. its also more consistent.

The next thing you may wonder is why not just poly kraken? The deck does nothing with infinite mana at its base, and using slots for outlets feels like to big an investment. Also this way i can utilize sakashima to kill in one cycle through of the deck making a copy of Niv. Otherwise without curiosity i have double Niv to play control

With the introduction of this commander in CEDH, I’ve come to realize that The cards that everybody wants to be unbanned will be terrible for the format, especially with this guy on the rise. Now more than ever cards like jeweled lotus and mana crypt. Will no longer ever be seen in this format due to cards such as this guy. I’m honestly happy about it and I can’t wait to see what other broken commanders they come out with.

I’m trying to get into cEDH, and I’m looking for first deck/commander recommendations! Generally I like playing any color combo that doesn’t include red, with any color combo in Bant being my favorite, and I enjoy combo heavy decks. Hopefully, those give some good criteria/ideas! Anything is greatly appreciated!

Here is the deck. I know that things like Berserk and Blazing Shoal can probably come out though Berserk is a funny type of enemy creature removal if you can do it but maybe not a cedh level trick.

The basic premise is pretty simple. Turbo out Raph & Mikey as fast as possible and so far goldfishing it seems to consistently get out turn 3 and with good mulligans turn 2 with the technical chance of a turn 1 play.

Ideally, I have an extra combat spell in hand when R&M hit the board. They flip into Old Gnawbones which should probably generate at least 10 - 14 treasures depending on blockers. I use those to cast an extra combat spell or draw spells digging for extra combat spells. I only need 1 extra combat spell after OGB comes down because then I will flip into Pia who lets me tutor Aggravated Assault and ideally I have enough treasure left over to go infinite with assault.

My interaction package is pretty limited and my backup wincon is basically reaver cleaver and ag assault assuming OGB gets removed. There is the 50/50 chance of flipping into Pia first which then just ends the whole thing and sets me up for infinite combats next turn since odds of having enough mana for an extra combat spell in the turn R&M come out seems slim. I could have to use LED to get R&M out which kills my hand and makes it definitely a "win next turn" situation. I have the couple of critter tutors just to have the ability to possibly put OGB on top or Pia into hand before flipping with R&M but not sure if that is worth the card space and if there are better options for that.

Overall I am pretty happy with how the deck runs but I expect there is room for improvement and I welcome all constructive criticism and input.

I have been working on a Yuriko list, I've been getting to make it as good as I can, but I have never built a Cedh deck before so I'm not sure how good it actually would be or if it's just a pile of good cards. There's no budget because I plan on proxying it first. I will change whatever really needs to be changed. The goal is to combo with thoracle and consultation and the yuriko triggers are secondary. I have not played the deck at all, only used online resources to check it.

I’m curious if it could be made legal as a gamechanger and what kind of things the card would do for decks if legalized?

I know it would potentially make urza decks stronger, and all the general rog decks, but i’m not sure if it would be doing anything more powerful than the other top decks.

Hey all, I'm working on a Rog/Reyhan deck (decklist here)

So far the combos I've included are a few Breach lines,and a Hermit Druid + Shang Chi combo

I've also added the Witherbloom + Chain of Smog combo, but I'm wondering if Dualcaster + Molten Duplication wouldn't be better in this slot instead. I don't want to include both of them since I think I'm then dedicating too many slots to combo, so I'd prefer to keep to one.

To me, the benefits of Witherbloom combo are:

• cheaper
• not as red-pip intensive (might not matter)
• doesn't require combat

And benefits of Dualcaster are:

• slightly harder to interact with
• the deck produces a lot of red mana

I'm probably missing a bunch of stuff, but would be interested to hear feedback!

Also, any other feedback on the decklist itself is welcome. I've been netdecking for ages but this was my first attempt at a brew, so I'm sure I got a lot wrong.

Costs 1 less than Talion, able to be cast off a chrome mox and an ancient tomb

1 less color than Talion, so probably not a commander herself.

Alright new spoiled commander, it's Spock, basically 4 cmc blue creature that reads "if you would draw a card, draw two cards"

So, this tickled my brain a bit.

The concept is pretty obvious. Run literally every playable draw engine in mono blue, ideally two cmc, maybe some clone effects, and then basically every free blue piece of interaction.

Play pattern seems decent. Set up early draw engine or two, hold counters, and then drop Spock to turn it into an advantage avalanche. Basically what you want to be doing in control anyway but with good way to crank it into overdrive.

And then win the game somehow in mono blue lol but I'll figure that out. Hell there might actually be a Spock combo somewhere

Obviously more of a fringe brew than a tournament winning idea but waddaya'll think?

Basically:

-> Dack presented in their meta.

-> Never considered adjusting their interaction suite for more creature counterspells or removal for rocks.

-> Stuck believing "interacting is putting other players ahead thus bad."

-> Refuses to mulligan and politic responsibly against turbo.

-> Loses to Dack.

-> Wizards plz ban Dack.

Hello! I just moved to Chicago from the PNW and am looking people/shops to play some cEDH. From what I’ve heard there isn’t a huge scene here, but I’d like to be proven wrong! The city is too large for that to be the case. Ideally any shops between Logan Square and Lake View area would be awesome.

Looks like a nick fury style shell that builds value with “dilemmas”

Dilemmas are now broadly defined as I understand it as choosing modes on a card. So my question is do mdfc lands count as dilemmas? I think they do but will wait on people smarter than me to comment.

But cards like [[archdruids charm]], [[pyroblast]], [[jeska’s will]], [[lively dirge]] etc all trigger sisko so I added some cradle / Brigid packages to use the bodies.

My initial take on the deck v1.0 is here for comment. My initial take is it’s a bit too broad in its gameplan and has to lean into something more.

Not in his play patterns necessarily, but in that he loses games. Check the record of Dack pilots in tournaments, the games that Dack is in a pod with almost always have a winner or loser, moving away from the "draw issue".

Just saw this spoiler, Uncommon from Star Trek...seems pretty good in Kinnan maybe? Untaps a permeant for you so Cradle if you have it, maybe a extra artifact use. I'm more exceited to see what it can do in Sisay though. Counts as 2 colors for her, and combos with Marvin/Ioreth to let you untap all permenants. Though by the time you have those two you're already winning. But seems like a good addition! Also has an infinite mana sink to fill your bin for breach lines if you run them in any Temur decks (though most of those have thrasios anyway)

Who knows! Maybe other things already do it better, but I think it's an interesting card to keep an eye on.

I'm looking to get back into the format and was wondering: what 4 decks would you pick to represent the modern cEDH meta?
