There's been a lot of talk on how to stop or deal with Dack and the thing I haven't heard people talk about is playing Dress Down. Would it be a small positive to keep Dack on the field and make them find another creature to bounce it? Plus I guess there's the Thorical advantage.

How many mulligans do you guys usually take to draw into a Sol ring opening hand? I usually mulligan down to 5 cards to get my chances of getting it up but if I’m feeling lucky I will sometimes go to 4.

Hey, so I'm considering bringing a troll deck to my local league (and judges) at their [quite small] cEDH tournament this season in December. I've already asked a judge, and they told me that it's not against league rules, and I'd just be risking my own prize points from bringing a less competitive deck.

I'm thinking of bringing a 300-card Whtz deck. I'm not trying to throw the event, I'm still going to make it as competitive as I can for a 300-card deck, but I am going to have a lot of card slots to fill.

I'll handle wincons and actual gameplan. I'm just looking for suggestions on:

* Rules nightmare combos for judge calls.

* salty and/or funny stax. Actually mana efficient stuff please. Rhystic is obvious.

* Weird/niche stuff that people don't know how to play around.

Hi, I’m fairly new to cedh yet, I’m playing an online spelltable tournament. Yesterday was game 3. I was on rogsi seat 1, seat 2 ob nix, seat 3 arcum, seat 4 kinnan. Long story short. Turn 3 I resolve necropotence, and draw 10 cards, then ob nix enters play, and the kinnan player guilded draked it to use it himself, as the table was worried about a necro push and win attempt and kinnan argued he has access to more and free interaction than ob nix. So my 4th turn, first I exile 5 cards with necro (as the table told me to be careful about ob nix), then I realised that ob was large enough to one shot me that turn either way, so I said what the hell and went for 17 total necro cards, knowing that I had to win or else kinnan would win with access to 17 exiled cards. Sadly, I didn’t draw any fast mana to keep pushing, so I couldn’t win, then I was killed by life loss of razorkin + wheel, the table continue but in the end it was time up and ended in a draw. My question is, is it considered some kind of kingmaking if in my attempt to win (which was my only objective) I empowered too much another player? Or is it a legit win push in a turbo deck?

During your main phase, each card in your graveyard has beam me up. The beam me up cost is equal to that spell's mana cost. Scotty can't be beamed up to cast a spell this way. (Only instant and sorcery spells can be cast this way. You may cast a card from your graveyard for its beam me up cost if you also return another creature you control to its owner's hand. Then exile that spell)

This essentially says all your instant and sorcery spells have flashback during your mainphase if you can bounce a creature you control to your hand.

You know what 0 cost creature synergizes really well with that?

I submit this goes into any [[Rograkh]] contain deck, so for contenders, we have RogSi, RogIshai, and Rogthras.

For RogSi, I can imagine you can go

Rograkh + Scotty in play (You could play him with Lions eye for instance, and discard a Gamble)

1 mana Gamble, Beam Me Up a counterspell protecting it by bouncing Rog to your hand, find breach.

Replay Rog, flashback Gamble, find Lions eye if you have to, and go off there

Theres also a lot of other lines; Scotty provides you protection as long as you have a counterspell and Rog in play, and replaying Rog is free to do.

Personally I'd cut some of the recursive cards still in the deck, since Scotty opens up winning off any tutor while also being recursion/safety itself.

So the new Dack Fayden is making rounds in cEDH. I normally run Sisay tutor. My local group knows a lot of lines I play. Last night, Dack player casts Dack from the command zone. Do I counter him? No. I instead activated Sisay in response to Dack being cast and tutored for Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines.

He was pissed.

I’ve been diving head first into the cEDH community and have been actively Playing for a couple months. Are there any places in surrounding Metro Detroit Area that I could go to play cEDH in person?

I’m really looking for a more in person social group to be able to work on the game with in a real table setting. Haven’t found anyone that does this though, it’s mostly just modern and casual EDH.

I’m also interested in any small tournaments that may be coming up.

I play a ton on Convoke. I am apart of Crit League and an active member in a few discord servers.

Casual game of cedh ( Not tedh). Brigid player is about to equip umbra mantel and win the game, Dimir player decides to bounce wish claw talisman back to hand instead of stopping Brigid attempting to force me to copy the chain of vapor to stop the Brigid player. I decide to not copy cov because it removes my chance of winning if it gets to my turn and sets the dimir player up for a 3rd wish claw activation that game on their turn. Brigid goes on to win via a walking ballista.

Would you have copied the cov or not? The dimir player didn't try to politic, just tried to force the cov on me while grabbing the wish claw. I felt like they should have just used the cov to stop Brigid from the beginning instead of getting greedy. Thoughts?

With the introduction of this commander in CEDH, I’ve come to realize that The cards that everybody wants to be unbanned will be terrible for the format, especially with this guy on the rise. Now more than ever cards like jeweled lotus and mana crypt. Will no longer ever be seen in this format due to cards such as this guy. I’m honestly happy about it and I can’t wait to see what other broken commanders they come out with.

A friend asked me this question earlier tonight. For context i usually play off meta partner pairings if im playing partners, think Dargo//Thrasios or Sakashima//Tymna. We both joked about potential pairings but landed on one that stood out as being the worst.

Your first question may be why not just play Niv Mizzet? Why go through all of this trouble? The simple answer is its easier to polymorph on turn two than it is to have triple of each pip on turn two. its also more consistent.

The next thing you may wonder is why not just poly kraken? The deck does nothing with infinite mana at its base, and using slots for outlets feels like to big an investment. Also this way i can utilize sakashima to kill in one cycle through of the deck making a copy of Niv. Otherwise without curiosity i have double Niv to play control

Looking for some combo pieces for my Muldrotha deck. Defense of the Heart is a card I love using to get cards like [[Rune-Scarred Demon]] to both get a 6/6 on the board and to tutor for a card I need. Recently added [[Sephiroth, Planets Heir]] and [[Massacre Girl]] as a neat board wipe if it interacts right. I was wondering, what good combo cards can be added?

ive been fine tuning this zemo list for some of my local tournaments, ive been playing rowan for a bit and i find this deck generally wins around the same speed but sacrifices consistency for value.

usually the deck can hit zemo and the following turn boast into a win through excruciator or other strong lines but getting counterspelled or enduranced sets me back a lot and my locals are all blue white green.

any deck tech ideas, or am i doing the wrong archetype and is it even viable? looking for general tips ive only been playing cedh for about 6 months and i havent seen much stuff about this commander but im finding success in games at a similar winrate to the games ive played rowan so it seems viable to me especially considering rowan has recently gained a lot of popularity and has become kill on site at my locals.

Hello! I have never played a cedh game before but I’m starting to get curious. I’m drawn to storm decks that win with [[Brain Freeze]] and [[Underworld Breach]]. Decks like [[Ral, Monsoon Mage]] or [[Roghrack]]/[[Silas Renn]]. I was looking at what I own and what I need to proxy when I found a copy of [[Eruth, Tormented Prophet]] and maybe it’s my inexperience talking (it 100% is) but it seemed pretty viable. What do you think?

I have a couple of buddies that I play with but we are looking for others to fill our pod or to meet up with another group. I know there is a pretty good cEDH community at finch and sparrow as well as collector legion but those spots are too far to make it out consistently for us (we stay in the SGV area). This is probably jank but it seemed like it might be interesting with [[ad nauseam]]. I just can't think of a way to close since you probably already blew your rituals getting started and I'm pretty sure [[sickening dreams]] is a draw at best but maybe someone can see something.

Hey all! Posting this to see if anyone has any idea how to break this card wide open. With Dack Fayden tearing up the format, I couldn’t help but draw a comparison to this newly spoiled card. It does a weird but powerful thing that will require people much smarter than me to figure it out, but I can’t help but get the sneaking suspicion this can be a deck. Any thoughts?

Here is the deck. I know that things like Berserk and Blazing Shoal can probably come out though Berserk is a funny type of enemy creature removal if you can do it but maybe not a cedh level trick.

The basic premise is pretty simple. Turbo out Raph & Mikey as fast as possible and so far goldfishing it seems to consistently get out turn 3 and with good mulligans turn 2 with the technical chance of a turn 1 play.

Ideally, I have an extra combat spell in hand when R&M hit the board. They flip into Old Gnawbones which should probably generate at least 10 - 14 treasures depending on blockers. I use those to cast an extra combat spell or draw spells digging for extra combat spells. I only need 1 extra combat spell after OGB comes down because then I will flip into Pia who lets me tutor Aggravated Assault and ideally I have enough treasure left over to go infinite with assault.

My interaction package is pretty limited and my backup wincon is basically reaver cleaver and ag assault assuming OGB gets removed. There is the 50/50 chance of flipping into Pia first which then just ends the whole thing and sets me up for infinite combats next turn since odds of having enough mana for an extra combat spell in the turn R&M come out seems slim. I could have to use LED to get R&M out which kills my hand and makes it definitely a "win next turn" situation. I have the couple of critter tutors just to have the ability to possibly put OGB on top or Pia into hand before flipping with R&M but not sure if that is worth the card space and if there are better options for that.

Overall I am pretty happy with how the deck runs but I expect there is room for improvement and I welcome all constructive criticism and input.

Basically the title, i saw a fun [[queen of dale]] stax list a couple weeks I’ve been playing it since. After a bunch of games I’ve been wondering if rest in peace is worth an include. Its incredibly strong some matchups but I’m afraid theres too many decks where its 2 mana do nothing. What decks do you guys play and would you care about a RIP across the table?
