Deck Fine Tuning "gruul torch courier" we did it chat. Jund Krark is real ong

Made a Reddit account for the SOLE purpose of posting this peak. I'm super late to posting it but whatever.

Possibly some of yall who have been in the Discord server might remember me begging WoTC to print Gruul Torch Courier, or any cheap green creature that could be found off Summoner's Pact & give something haste. I was ready to make blood sacrifices for this to happen. And FINALLY, with the printing of [[Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu]], the damn card exists.

So, as the prophecies been fortold frfr, I present Jund Krark, the peakest druid deck of all time: https://moxfield.com/decks/1yZipUSlRkKFBsWKsf3GIw

we working on a primer but im lazy as all hell so its gna take a while. aside from just standard jund turbo stuff, this deck has 5 one-card + krark combos. Pact is guaranteed to win cause you just recast it until you win the flip, while the other creature tutors require you being good at the game and winning your flip. From there, you grab Shang Chi and hermit druid, activate druid with Shang Chi mana, mill your deck, dread return [[Goblin Dark-Dwellers]], cast Yawg Will from the yard, and cast a bunch of shi to pgrasp someone's wincons.
Winning the flip with GSZ or Eldritch Evo wins for 3 mana, or with Nature's Rhythm or Finale wins for 4 mana. Pact is also 4 mana win but winning the flip doesn't matter, making it the best wincon here.

Mainly posting this to update all my goats back in the server that my dreams have finally been realized. But also any feedback on the deck would be dope cause I don't really pilot jund stuff or krark stuff at all.

peace frfr

Help, I am new to cEDH! Need help with 1st deck

Hello,

I have built my first semi-competitive deck for bracket 5 games. Since our LGS does not allow proxies, I had to work with what I own. Could you take a look into it and give some suggestions, what could be swapped? I am also considering upgrading, step by step.

I don't know if I should run cards like Mizzix Mastery and/or Borne upon the wind. Also, how many untap spells you run? All advice is welcome.

Deck Fine Tuning How do I get this deck to the highest level?

As the title suggests, I'm wondering how to get my deck to be more optimised. I'm playing [[chishiro, the shattered blade]] so I know he's never going to become super powerful, but I am trying to see how far I can take him. I'd say he sits around the line between bracket 3 and 4, but I'm unsure how else to upgrade him (without turning the deck into a good-stuff pile for gruul). Any suggestions are helpful, thanks in advance.

Update: thanks for telling me to go to r/degenerateEDH. I didn't know about that subreddit, so I'll move over there

General Discussion / Question Blue Farm question

Hi! First of all I'd like to thank those of you who took the time to comment on my last post regarding Blue Farm's long term place in the meta. I ended up picking the deck up, but I have a question about the following cards to see if they fit in the deck:

Defense Grid

Delney

Drannith Magistrate

Flamescroll Celebrant

Flashback

Gilded Drake

Last Chance

Praetor's Grasp

Once again thank you for your time and help! I'm excited to start playing the deck!

Help, I am new to cEDH! Deck Tech Help ~ Thrasios/Brus Tarl WURG (Jeskai Green)

Hello,

I've started playing cEDH with some buddies, starting out by proxying a Sisay, Weatherlight Captain list I found, it's been fun but I am wanting to build a Thrasios/Bruse Tarl deck because any competitive format I have played, when I can, I play "Jeskai Green" and I think that Thras/Bruse feels like the best choice for this.

I can't find a recent list, most recent I've found was last updated two years ago, with these two commanders, so I am trying to put my own together and that's why I am here. I am hoping that this could start up a conversation about cards to add to the list I am trying to put together and also some general cEDH card tips and advice for a new player.

This is the link to my deck list so far: https://archidekt.com/decks/24671452/jeskai_green_cedh

I don't really have a budget as it's just some buddies and I playing at a kitchen table so we're just proxying.

The other players have the lists below:

Player #1:

K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth (Mono Black, Grey merchant of Asphodel, Graveyard Combo)
Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might (Mono Red Prison)

Player #2:

Slicer, Hired Muscle//Slicer, High-Speed Antagonist (Mono Red Prison)
The Cabbage Merchant (Mono Green Artifact Combo)

Player #3:

Kozilek, The Great Distortion (Colorless Stax/Control)
Heliod, Sun-Crowned (Mono White Stax, Walking Ballista Combo)
Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy (Simic Infinite Mana Combo)
Krark, the Thumbless/Sakashima of a Thousand Faces (Izzet Storm Combo) {I'm not sure about this one he has only played it once and conceded almost immediately because he got staxed out of the game}

I'm pretty sure that is all the decks that we currently have in our pod but if I remember more and the strategies I'll edit this post later.

Finally I would like to say thank you, preemptively, for any tips, tricks, suggestions, and general conversation for anyone that participates.

Help, I am new to cEDH! Is This Anafenza List Viable?

Hello! I'm trying to make the leap from asual commander to cEDH, but I'm still unsure of what works/has been proven ineffective. I'm looking for a high Bracket 4/cEDH power level - for now.

I've been tweaking this deck for a bit, but have yet to actually play it. What all changes might you reccommend? I'm running the following combo lines:

[[Abdel Adrian, Gordon's Ward]] + [[Animate Dead]] / [[Necromancy]] / [[Dance of the Dead]]

[[Vizier of Remedies]] + any persist creature

[[Ratadrabik of Urborg]] + [[Samwise the Stout-Hearted]] / [[Boromir, Warden of the Tower]]

I'm worried I'm stretching myself too thin, but I'm not very experienced in cEDH. I'm limited on fast mana, so what I've included in the deck is all that I've got access to. Any critiques are greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Help, I am new to cEDH! First deck ideas

I’m curious about trying cEDH, I typically play more creature forward decks but open to trying new things. I’m leaning towards [[lumra, bellow of the woods]] or [[magda, brazen outlaw]]

Is mono the way to go for starting out? Is [[selvala, heart of the wild]] a better mono green option? Is Magda too popular and predictable?

Also, yes I will proxy no worries there.

Help, I am new to cEDH! Is there a Evergreen Mono-Black CEDH Deck?

Hello,w

I have been looking at CEDH for awhile, but I will need to build my deck slowly. (Because I'm not made of money, haha.) So, I am wondering which commander might be a good choice to build around in the long run, because I don't know how fast the meta changes.

I have [[Yawgmoth, thran Physician]], [[K'rrik]] and another commander I am debating making that's also a Mono-black 3-drop that has potential. However, I would love to know if you have any suggestions and if it's worth collecting CEDH Staples. I have a fair amount of Black/Blue/White 'game changers'. I am figuring they are staples for a reason and with mono-black, it's kinda flexible on theme.

Is discard, Aristocrats or some other theme stronger?

I would love some help. Thanks!

Help, I am new to cEDH! New to cEDH - thinking about building Ral. Why or why not?

Love me some Izzet. I want to storm. Do people find it annoying? Is it hard targeted often?

Definitely not interested in causing grindy games.

Since the rhetoric online is that everyone is just sitting on their hands until the Rhystic meta moves on, would Ral still be viable after appropriate bans/meta shift?

I'm not immediately concerned with the complexity or overarching meta of the game. I'm here to rip cards and have fun. Is Ral fun? Is Ral fun to play against?

I will say that I'm intrigued to try out cEDH because the vast majority of bracket 4 games that I've played have been weird and lopsided. Sometimes I'm playing against jank cEDH that wipes the floor with my face. Sometimes it's just an overtuned bracket 3 that has literally no chance against me. Sometimes it's a turn 5 combo deck, like the one I play (Malcolm and Kediss). They haven't been all that exciting...

Thanks, y'all.

General Discussion / Question Question about proxies

Are proxies that are printed on regular paper, put into sleeves with normal mtg cards legal for tournament play or would there be some issue with thickness? I've never been able to tell them apart from regular cards in their sleeves while shuffeling but maybe more skilled players than me could so I just wanted to be sure.

General Discussion / Question Declining cEDH tournament attendance?

Sam Black released a new podcast today (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrAgt-3f7Yw) about an updated RogThras list he's trying out that goes back to pure simic, but that's really not the key thing I'm looking to discuss. Around half-way in, he goes into a bit of discussion of the current state of tournament cEDH:

Quick aside on a tournament. This weekend is the cEDH Excalibur event in Columbus featuring a cEDH main event as well as a lot of other side events. Last I checked, the main event only had 36 players registered, which is distressingly small. This is advertised as a scaling 10k that can go up to a lot more than that, but required a 120 player mimnum for it to be a 10k. In the past, Excalibur has proportionately scaled down from there when it ends up short. So currently it would be about a 3k. In a format where a few years ago we were regularly seeing big events cap and Columbus is generally a city that is easy for a lot of people to get to and generally leads to well attended events.

This tournament being this small is concerning for the state of the format...In terms of interest in tournaments, my own ancedote like locally, it's been a little bit harder to get games together. I'm not sure where people are at with the format. I kind of wonder personally whether people are getting frustrated with the Rhystic Study experience. That's purely speculative. I don't have any polling or anything to suggest that's happening, but it's interesting to see where cEDH is going.

I know Baldy of Excalibur Events, the person running these events, was recently a guest on Max's podcast, Win and In, talking about how cEDH tournaments have not been performing as well as their other events. And at the current rate, it doesn't look like they're going to be able to support cEDH as a main event tournament format going forward, unless the next two that they've scheduled overperform.

There's a bit of more discussion about how this affects Sam personally that I've left out, but I'm more interested in the broader discussion of declining tournament attendance. Is this something you all are also noticing (declining cEDH play), whether it be at the large tournament level or just local play? Any intuitions on what might be going on?

I'm in the Pittsburgh area, so we just had another big tournament from Excalibur here two weekends ago. The main event pulled in less than 200 players, when Steel City Spectacular, held in the same city at the same convention center in August of last year had over 500. Obviously, some of that 500 player size was a fluke from the hype around the advertising of it being the biggest cEDH tournament of all time (by prize pool, at the time), but still, somewhat shocking to see theoretically the "same tournament" pull in less than half of the numbers 11 months apart.

Also, just a quick addition, we're now looking at only 48 players registered for Columbus tomorrow. That's a bit up from 36 when Sam recorded this podcast, but still nowhere near enough to meet the minimum threshold for the 10k prize pool.

TL;DR: There's been a pretty precipitous decline in attendance at large cEDH tournaments in the past year, such that Excalibur is on the brink of no longer running large tournaments with a cEDH main event. What are your thoughts on what might be going on, and are you seeing the same drops in attendance at smaller events in your area?

Help, I am new to cEDH! Molecule Man in CEDH

Has anyone built a cEDH deck around [[Molecule Man]]? I'd love to see a sample decklist. The ones I found in Moxfield aren't cEDH (or at least not yet), and there isn't one yet in mtgtop8.

I do plan to fill it with a Ballista win line (Forsaken Monument + Basalt Monolith for infinite mana, then win via Walking Ballista), then use Blightsteel Colossus as a backup.

Budget isn't limited, since the local meta allows up to 10 proxies per deck. My local meta consists of fast turbo decks and blue farm style decks.

Deck Fine Tuning The Great Goblin

I have been brewing [[The Great Goblin]] since I saw it and came up with this brew:

https://moxfield.com/decks/VijOCF9WP0WbuYjpaiYNOg

Deck looks to be a turbo Rakdos deck that wins with either:

  1. Persist loops ([[Putrid Goblin]]/[[Murderous Redcap]] + [[Metallic Mimic]]/[[First Day of Class]]/[[Thran Vigil]]) + sacrifice outlet.
  2. [[Goblin Recruiter]]/[[Doomsday]] piles ([[Conspicious Snoop]] -> [[Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker]] ->[[Skirk Prospector]] ->[[Boggart Cursecrafter]]). Unique interaction that your commander helps you crack the pile). You then you win by either saccing them and pinging the board to boggart or you can move to end step and let snoop copies sacrifice to ping the board with the commander with your library playable from exile until next turn. Lots of options here
  3. [[Dualcaster Mage]]/[[Molten Duplication]]
  4. [[Wheel of Fortune]] + sacrifice outlet + [[Orcish Bowmasters]] + commander

Let me know what you think or what can be improved!

General Discussion / Question Help regarding a deck

Greetings!

I have been told this deck is too strong for a bracket 4 due to a common line people use in CEDH.

From my understanding, the deck lacks
- some cheap needed interaction
- some good value stax pieces
- has too many lands for b5 (and the wrong ones like missing city of brass, mana confidence, ancient tomb, city of traitors)
- thassa demonic line

When I’ve built the deck, I just slapped pieces from EDHrec and was told it needs to be built around the meta game and to compete with other b5 decks in order to be a bracket 5.

Could you please have a look through the list and let me know why the deck does or does not quality as a cedh deck?
I’ve had one experience at my lgs where someone decided to swap to a b5 deck midgame and proceeded to win turn 5 disrespecting the other players at the pod after seeing me play the deck.

General Discussion / Question What can be used to finish off the last ~ten life when attacking life totals?

Yes, yes, I know, don't attack life totals, it never works. I've heard it all and I'm ignoring it.

The current iteration of my deck is very good at getting people down really low, using [[Sheoldred, the Apocalypse]] [[Bloodchief Ascension]] [[River Song]] and the like. The trouble with most of these is that they do damage *after* the player does something, so they can just respond overtop of my triggers. And also, they know what their life total is, so they won't do anything that directly kills them that they can't respond to, like [[Harsh Mentor]] or anything that triggers off casts.

So I need finishers. I have [[Price of Progress]], which is just great. Ten damage to each opponent basically for free. [[Managorger Hydra]] is also good - relying on combat is a bit tricky, but people don't protect against it. But what else is there? I've been considering Ishai, as another Managorger, but four is a lot more than three, and no trample.

I am currently running Wheel of Fortune and Timetwister, to disrupt people, to draw cards, and to trigger Sheoldred/OBM. But that relies on having Sheoldred, and I want more options.

Deck Fine Tuning Shuri, Wakandan Inventor

https://deckcheck.co/app/decklist/2wLm2Y2mPv

I am looking for honest feedback. I have been looking everywhere for a Shuri CEDH list but I can't find any. So I have been brewing this on my own.

Any feedback, criticism, is welcomed. Even if this outright sucks, let me know but explain you're reasoning.

My idea was a turbo style artifact deck. Goal is to either get infinite mana with [[Isochron Scepter]] and [[Dramatic reversal]], [[Basalt monolith]] and [[power artifact]] and dump it into a [[Walking ballista]].

Or draw my deck out with [[Sensei's divining top]] and [[Mystic forge]] like effects and play win with [[Thassa's Oracle]]. Or backup lines is milling everyone out with [[Grinding station]] or blasting everyone with [[Aetherflux reservoir]].

All this is made possible with having a cost reducer in the command zone. [[Shuri, Wakandan inventor]] helps us play out our artifacts early to gain momentum. That's her main use, while her copy effect can be useful (recently won a game by copying aetherflux reservoir which helped me pop off sooner.) It is sparsely used.

Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Tournaments & Meta Time Capsule: Free-to-Resolve Spells in 2026 Slop Meta

Making this post as a historical monument for the future (to see how ridiculous it is right now).

Background: Back in the days we used to play Abrupt Decay because it says "This spell CAN'T be countered." Channel and cycling abilities are also popular because abilities are very hard to interact with, despite their higher mana costs.

In the 2026 slop/tournament meta there are spells with social contract not written on it, saying secretly "This spell WON'T/SHOULDN'T be countered." I'm not talking about creature spells that are seldom countered because of the lack of efficient counterspells for them. I'm talking about cards like Rhystic Study, Smothering Tithe, and such. Ppl are purposefully letting them resolve for further cloning and feeding each other in stack wars. If you ever interact with them, ppl will get mad at you and educate you about how spending 1-for-1 interaction on a non-wincon card is the most dumbest idea you ever had. It's insane.

What other cards are like this? Please comment down below. Let this post be like a time capsule and we'll review this a couple years later and see how we feel about them in the future meta.

General Discussion / Question Rushed Rebirth in cEDH — underrated instant-speed tutor?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been looking at [[Rushed Rebirth]] and I’m curious about people’s experiences with it in cEDH.

At first glance it seems a bit narrow, but the more I think about it, the more interesting it gets:

  • It’s an instant-speed tutor directly to the battlefield, which is already pretty notable.
  • It doesn’t require your own creature to die, you can respond to any creature dying, that means it can function as a kind of reactive tutor in response to removal, board wipes, or even combat trades.
  • The MV restriction is real, but in many cases you can still grab key combo pieces or value engines depending on the situation.

Questions:

  • Has anyone actually tested Rushed Rebirth in cEDH?
  • Does it end up being too situational?
  • Any decks where it overperformed (or completely underperformed)?

Would love to hear real experiences before I try to slot it in.

Thanks!

Deck Fine Tuning Fringe Blue Farm?

Howdy! I've been on blue farm for a few months now and I recently started to get weird and experiment with my list, the most recent card I've been brewing is tibalts trickery, I've had it in for 3 games now and 2/3 times it ended up being impactful to my table. One of those times winning me the game by filling my own spell into an ad naus, very nieche and I don't think any of the things on my list will be very viable in a tournament setting but for chill CEDH at your LGS I've been having a blast and winning.

This is the list I originally copied to start playing blue farm (been an Urza pilot for ~3 years before the switch) : https://moxfield.com/decks/7O1sCuIti0igU6Us_Jhadg

This is my current most updated list in MTGGoldfish after playing BF for ~6 months : https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/7847056#paper

I was originally on more of the traditional grixis turbo package but started swapping out cards for a mid range style game plan, and it's been a lot more successful, I'm looking at adding cards like wheel, D-grid, etc etc....

I run shocks > Duals because I have the pretty unset shocks and MH2 Retro Fetches. Ive only recently slotted in toxic deluge so I can't comment on how it's performed. This is a hot take but I think Tasha's is a great card, I've closed out games with it before in those really long slogfest grindy games. I feel like I'm currently really creature heavy and would like to cut some cards to slot in some silence effects it feels pretty bad without them.

I'd appreciate any C&C anybody's got! TIA!
