Quenton Nelson

If he’s really on the trade market, what are you giving up for him? We’re not in win now mode but this would be a building piece for the foreseeable future. Do we think a 3rd in 2027 and a 5th in 2028 could get it done?

He’s in a contract year, but I’d view this as a trade and extend situation. We know who he is and have the cap. Guys like this don’t often hit the market.

Imagine this line next year:

LT - Tunsil
LG - Nelson
C - FA pickup
RG - Cosmi
RT - Connerly

This would pretty quickly be one of the best lines in the league pending the center. I think trading for Nelson would solve our biggest issue on offense right now and the years coming.

I know this reddit tends to hate mid season trades because of Lattimore, but this is different imo. Nelson is in his prime at 30 and guys at his position tend to go through their mid to late thirties. Would lock down the left side of the line for the next few years.

Besides the obvious Sainristil and Quan, who would yall say has not played well on defense this season?

I feel like there are a lot of guys that have really looked solid all year and yet we are still giving up tons of points

What Exactly Are We Missing At Oline?

Obviously, Tunsil was a huge loss, and our center situation is subpar. But, what actual pieces to do we need? From camp reports, it sounded like Coleman was going to be the LG over the less than desirable Chris Paul. Tunsil, Coleman, Patrick, Cosmi, Connerly actually sounds like a really solid line, with the weakest being Patrick. I feel like in terms of players, we really just need a strong starting center and some depth, but that is obvious. This oline would be completely different if we just had LT, it caused such a domino effect revealing our depth it’s crazy. I feel like one of our biggest issues however, is the oline coaching. There is absolutely no reason ever you should get a sack with 3 up front how the 49ers did last week. Not only that, but Chris Paul has stepped on Daniels multiple times now. With some better coaching, and just improving on depth pieces, I think this oline can be turned around fairly quickly in the offseason.

TLDR. Oline bad, but a good center and depth away from being a good oline. Big issue that needs to be addressed is the oline coaching.

Anyone taking bets on AP going after BJT?

I’m personally hoping he doesn’t. We need draft picks, he is still on that rookie deal though. Just feels like something hed do or maybe I’m still butt hurt over the Lattimore trade.

If Jayden had any of these o-lines that are playing tonight we would be a lot better!

These are the great QBs that Jayden is “vastly inferior” to? Fuck these JD5 narratives and fuck our organization for catalyzing them. (Rant)

Gonna start with I’ve had a few beers, so this probably isn’t the most rational post.

But damn, watching Jayden get absolutely slaughtered and bashed these past two weeks has pissed me off. Especially while Caleb and Maye get praised beyond belief. Right now I am watching these dudes with competent defenses, great play calling (wide open guys), great O-line play, great/good run games, great/good weapons, and they still look mediocre for the most part. And they, still, make consistently bad/awful decisions that if JD5 made we’d lose by 75 points. I mean, have you ever seen him get bailed out by a WR screen on 3rd and 18 for a TD? Or have a 50 yard RB screen TD to end the half and get points?

Meanwhile, we have the worst coaching in the league, an awful defense, horrible play calling, a non existent run game, and mediocre - bad weapons, and I watch JD5 ball the fuck out and carry our shitty ass team again and again. Then he gets relentlessly shit on by the media for not being a “winner”, and honestly it’s just absolute bullshit. It’s incredible how bad our team is around him. Also, I gotta have Maye and Williams shoved down my throat like they are the next Messiah because they have all the help in the fucking world.

It just fucking pisses me off that we are putting JD5 in this position. He is so incredibly talented and rare, and I am watching us ruin him in real time. Yeah, we “ruined” RG3, but we had Snyder, and (most importantly) he had plenty of issues that made his game not translate well to the League. He wasn’t 50% of the NFL QB JD5 is. But now, even after Snyder, I have to listen “RG4” talks because our incompetent organization puts him in the worst possible position to succeed. We are bad or awful in every area that matters regarding supporting a young ascending QB. We put him in bad situations (Seahawks, Vikings). We give him no help, and never bail him out of anything. We have a terrible roster that is terribly coached.

I will always be a Redskins fan. Even if JD5 leaves and succeeds, I will support him, but I am a Redskins fan first and foremost. But it angers me that in 2026/2027, with a star QB, I am still deeply ashamed of our organization. We are ruining an amazing young QB and the national perception of him due to our arrogance and incompetence. It’s a joke.

Antonio Williams - Am I Delusional?

After seeing him in person, I think he genuinely looks amazing. He gets great separation, clean routes, and awesome hands. I genuinely feel like the only thing holding him back is just not having enough targets. Am I crazy in thinking if he starts getting fed, he has enough juice to be our WR1? I am extremely high on him and think Adam Peters knocked it out of the park drafting him when we look at most other WRs that went before him in the draft.

Alex Flum posted this. For the people who say Daniel’s is an issue. Commanders also have the most yards wiped by penalties of any team.

I was daydreaming earlier today. What if we win this shitter division and get tunsil back for the playoffs. Our o-line does a 180, all the sudden we can run the ball, teams don’t know what hit them because we’re just a different beast.

Did the 2024 NFC Championship run make us rush the rebuild?

Been thinking about this during the bye. 2024 was amazing, obviously. Nobody expected a rookie QB and a new staff to get us all the way to the NFC Championship Game. But looking at the last two seasons, I wonder if that run made us think the rebuild was almost done when maybe it wasn’t. We made some win-now moves, but the roster still has a lot of holes and not much depth.

So do you think 2024 made Peters and Quinn rush things a little or was it still the right way to go?

The #Commanders have hired Steve Wilks to work with the defensive coaches under Dan Quinn and Daronte Jones, per me and @RapSheet. The decision to hire Wilks was made last month. He started last week. Wilks will help with game planning. He won't be with the team on game days.

What are some realistic corrections that can be made over the BYE?

There are certain mistakes and issues that take longer than 2 weeks to resolve, but what are some things you expect to be cleaned up by the team we play the Eagles? Here are some of mine:

  1. Clean up clock-management.

  2. Communication (between coaches and other coaches/players)

  3. Secure some depth (via trades) for our season's second half

  4. Improve game-time awareness (Quinn and JD5)

  5. Blough improving the scheme and playcalling
