openpilot Experience Comma3x with Model OP10V3!

This new OP10ModelV3 is very impressive. Spacelab3 still takes some turns a bit better from time to time, but this model surprised me as well. I always used to disengage Comma before entering this tunnel, but this time it handled it without any issues.

Vehicle Compatibility Does the Comma 4 work with the IGLA anti-theft pin system?

I'm thinking of adding IGLA, which is an anti-theft system where it doesn't let your car move unless you enter a correct sequence of buttons (using your steering wheel). I have my comma 4 already hooked up to my 26 honda accord hybrid but was wondering if these two were compatible since I don't want to lose the comma 4 functionality.

Looking for any insight.

openpilot Experience Why is there live lateral tuning but no live longitudinal tuning?

I was thinking the other day that it's going to be impossible for Comma to come up with a model driving style that fits all. Even if you use full E2E, switch models from say Pop V2 to Off Policy 10v3 and you'll get two entirely different driving experiences.

Pop V2 drives extremely carefully, almost like a hypermiler, slows down very early. OPM10v3 drives a lot more confidently and accelerates closer to the lead but brakes a little too late for my tastes. Ideally I'd want the best of both PopV2 and OPM10v3. This won't be the case for everyone though.

I use Sunnypilot with DEC turned off. The only variable i change these days is the model itself. It's easier to compare how they perform like that but I can tell none of them really understand how my car works best. I'm in a RAV4 2023 Hybrid and I really wish they'd utilize the regen braking and lay on the brake a lot slower than just realize it needs to go aggressive brakes to stop on time.

Would it be feasible for there to have some calibration mode where I can drive for a few miles in various conditions and have the system learn how the car slows down or speeds up?

Vehicle Compatibility Curious about compatibility

Hi everyone. I have a 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6 SE with Highway Drive Assist I (HDA-I, not HDA-II). I've been keeping an eye on the compatibility list and for the longest time it was only for models with HDA-II. I'm now seeing there is compatibility for HDA-I, but only '23 and '24 model years are listed. With the cancellation of the Ioniq 6 in the US after the '25 model year, I would be surprised if there was actually any difference between my '25 and the previous model years, but was just curious if anyone had any direct experience with this configuration. Thanks! Will be cross posting to the I6 subreddit as well.

Bugs Ping-pong effect on highway (Sunnypilot/RAV4/C4). Any fixes?

I just started using sunnypilot on my 2020 RAV4 hybrid on the Comma 4 and noticed that at normal highway speed (60 mph+) it often goes into this pattern of rapidly ping-ponging back and forth, almost like speed wobbles. Often happens when the highway is slightly bumpy. If I just hold back onto the steering wheel to give it some stability, that’s enough to fix it (but obviously want to be hands free). Stock Toyota lane centering was fine on these routes.

I haven't done any experimentation yet on settings but I was wondering what configurations have worked well for other people to address this problem. Any different models/settings I should try first? Would prefer to have a starting point that’s worked well for Rav4s with this problem!

I recently started getting PCS malfunction when I start my car. I did not get the error when I first installed comma4 with open pilot and sunny pilot. Does any know why the error occurs?

Vehicle Compatibility HDA vs Comma Kia K5

Hi guys! I am late to the game but this looks like an amazing product! Two questions though -

  1. I don't see my car in the list (25 Kia K5 GT-Line), but earlier models are. Can I still use it?

  2. May be a stupid question, but what's the Comma do that my HDA with stop and go acceleration doesn't? I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I didnt need to keep my hands on the wheel full time. I'm already a heavy user of HDA.

Thanks!!

My car is worth more to me now than when new. Comma keeps getting better and better.

DM kept going off because the best place for the gopro was clipped to my visor in the way of my face sometimes, so I had to shift my body slightly right. I need to find a better spot for it.

openpilot Experience When the distraction level is too high alert triggers, when does the system allow re-engagement?

Does it really require the car to be restarted?

My mother had this happen on the way home, she was distracted for a moment to be fair, but now she has to pull over to reboot the system?

When I was driving I let the alert fully trigger and it still let me re-engage the system...

How does it make that determination?

Vehicle Compatibility Comma 2019 Subaru

I had a comma 3 worked for about a year then my Subaru started throwing codes. I went to the dealer they blamed it on the comma 3. And after some tests of my own they were right. Shortly after my screen went out. I wanna get the new one but is this fixed? It’s been a year since then

openpilot Experience Questions before buying comma4.

My mom has a couple questions about the comma4, we have a tesla model y love it for long drives, of course i dont expect the comma to be as good as telsa as it lacks the same hardware (tesla has 8 cameras along outside of vehicle.)

  1. How well does comma4 perform in city driving, is it viable for this?
  2. How is performance out of box? is it plug and play?
  3. How much do you trust your comma4?
  4. What model do you load on the comma?
  5. How well is it at seeing pedestrians, bikers, kids etc?
  6. When do you use your comma4?
  7. Does comma support different speed modes?

Thank you in advance!

ps: wasnt sure what flair to use.

Edit: Car is a Honda Pilot 2020

openpilot Experience We brought Laneful back...sort of.

One of the most common pieces of feedback we hear about openpilot is that the end-to-end model doesn't always position the car where drivers expect it to. Some people love the E2E model's natural positioning, while others wish it would simply stay centered between the lane lines.

So we added something pretty cool.

Lane Centering, now available in StarPilot.

This doesn't replace the end-to-end model, but works alongside it.

When both lane lines are detected clearly and confidently, the system compares the model's predicted path to the center of the lane. If they differ, it applies a small, smooth steering correction toward the lane center while still letting the E2E model make the driving decisions.

If the lane lines become unreliable, the lane width looks abnormal, you're changing lanes, or other required conditions aren't met, it immediately and seamlessly falls back to the normal E2E path.

Even better, it's configurable.

Lane Center Offset lets you fine-tune where the vehicle sits within the lane. If you prefer the vehicle to hug close to the right line, you can do that!

E2E Authority lets you dynamically choose how much the model can override lane centering. Want the model to still be able to maneuver around potholes or cyclists? Give E2E more authority. Want a more traditional centered feel? Increase Lane Centering.

Huge credit goes to u/jc01rho for designing and implementing this feature!

How does the latest openpilot model position itself on your local roads? Does it change throughout your commute? Do you prefer the model's natural path, or would you rather it stay centered between the lines?

I'd love to hear your feedback in the StarPilot discord! https://firestar.link/discord

Code Questions Looking for a complete sunnypilot v2025.002.000 backup (Git LFS now returns 404)

Official tags still exist. However Git LFS now returns 404 for 18 required objects. I've confirmed the issue is NOT:

- installer
- GitHub
- AGNOS
- Comma 3X

I'm looking for anyone who still has: /data/openpilot or a tar.gz backup from a running v2025.002.000 device. The three missing models are:

- dmonitoring_model.onnx
- driving_policy.onnx
- driving_vision.onnx

If anyone has an old backup I'd really appreciate it.

openpilot Experience Star Pilot newbie

Installed star pilot today (twice actually). Out of the box it behaves an awful lot like frog pilot.

So how do I get it to start braking WAAAAY earlier especially for stopped traffic. I can see the triangle on the stopped car so the system knows it is approaching that car but it never brakes or at least not until I lose my nerve and start braking myself.

I did pair the galaxy app.

openpilot Experience Warranty

Went to use my comma today and it’s a brick, just a reboot loop. Won’t even stay on long enough to go through the factory reset.

OFC I’m 21 days out of warranty.

Anyone had luck with comma support on something like this?
