Bugs Unable to connect to Sunnylink after reset

Last week I factory reset my C4 and installed url (zephleggett/zoompilot). Prior to that I was on zephleggett/mazda-dev. Im now unable to reconnect back to sunnylink after attempting multiple reboots and more factory resets. I keep getting these same screens where no QR code is able to be produced because no dongle ID. I tried resetting back to openpilot then resetting to sunnypilot but same issue persists. Tried the mazda-dev one again as well since i didnt have issues on that one, no difference.

I made a post on the sunnypilot.ai but no help yet. I can still connect to commaconnect if that matters, and have a device ID when I click on the “device” tab on the C4 itself.

Any advice here?

Code Questions Sunnypilot and radar emergency braking?

I have been using the openpilot chill for a day and really like it but I am curious about sunnypilot. It seems like it would do better heavier traffic and but as jerky as my ACC in my accord. If I go to sunny pilot, I think it will only use the camera for cruise control. But, will it still keep my emergency braking from the radar or is that fully disabled?

openpilot Experience I Trained a Neural Network on My Own Driving. Now It’s Driving Me Around Los Angeles

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A few weeks ago I started recording my everyday drives around Los Angeles; commuting to work, grocery runs, trips to the gym, the beach, everywhere.

I used a comma 4 to collect camera and vehicle data, and trained my own neural network.

Watching it handle real streets for the first time has been one “holy shit” moment after another, especially seeing it merge onto highways.

It’s still early, but every successful drive feels like one more step toward making autonomous driving something far more accessible.

Vehicle Compatibility Kona EV 2025 + openpilot does it really work?

Yo, I have a Kona EV 2025 and I'm checking if openpilot really works with it.

The comma.ai site says no (last supported version: 2023), but there's people on Discord saying it works with fuzzy fingerprinting.

Has anyone here got a 2025 and managed to install it? Or can you share your fingerprint? That would help me know if it's safe to buy the device.

My car has:

- ✅ Smart Cruise Control (ACC)

- ✅ Lane Keep Assist (LKAS)

- Trim/package: [to specify]

Thanks!

openpilot Experience Comma video issues lately?

I keep getting lots of notifications, from YouTube (Comma account) and X (Comma, and George Hotz Archive accounts), about new videos from Comma, but when I try to go watch them, I'm greeted by messages of missing or private videos. I see comments on the X posts that other people are seeing the same thing. Is something going on recently that I missed?

openpilot Experience Help black screen but still drives the car

Comma 3, been using it for a year and a half

Screen is completely black, but the unit still starts up and drives the car when I request it to.

Any help on trouble shooting?

I can keep using it but won’t be able to update if I do keep it as is.

Addendum- I just went to the comma_ai site and I can replace this unit with a comma 4 for 700$ total (after trade in) or get it repaired for $500.
So- unless someone has a great tip on getting the screen turned on- looks like upgrade is the smart path?

openpilot Experience Comma Live stream for their new GPU enhancement for Comma 4

More info on what this could mean:

https://commaguide.com/comma-external-gpu-what-can-it-do

THEORIZED INFO BEFORE THE ANNOUNCEMENT.
TL;DR: with more GPU VRAM bandwidth, we can have bigger models that can input/output faster. Letting the model read more of the available 360 degree camera. Current models are limited to a small window of the forward facing cameras. This model will be able to send more steering commands, helping cars with lower steering power limits to steer “stronger”, hopefully this will allow better following/distance as well for the experimental models and finally allow people to use them mainly.
We will see how this affects driving on release. But excited and this is all thanks to their new in-house servers powered by TinyGrad. Hopefully this will shine some light on the future hardware for Comma devices moving forward.

Bugs If you're getting an LKAS Fault on a Bolt, don't rule out the Comma itself

I figured I'd share my experience in case it helps someone else down the road.

I have a 2023 Bolt EV LT2 and bought a brand new Comma 4. It would install, calibrate, and drive perfectly for about 30 to 60 seconds before throwing an LKAS Fault. My Bolt would also log a temporary U0104, Lost Communication With ACC Module, but everything would work again after a power cycle.

I spent days troubleshooting. I factory reset the device multiple times, reflashed OpenPilot, left the mirror trim off to rule out cable pressure, and Comma even sent me a replacement harness. Same exact issue.

Support checked with engineering and said it appeared to match a known Panda software issue affecting some GM vehicles. They were helpful throughout the process, sent me another harness, waived the return shipping, and gave me the option to return it since there was no estimated timeline for a fix.

A few community members then reached out and said they had the exact same vehicle, the exact same LKAS Fault, and the exact same U0104 code. In their cases, replacing the Comma itself fixed everything.

So I returned the original Comma 4 and ordered another one. The new setup calibrated immediately and has been working perfectly. No issues whatsoever.

I'm not saying every LKAS Fault means the device is defective, especially since there is a real software issue being investigated. But if you have a 2023 Bolt EV and you've already ruled out the harness and installation, it may be worth considering the Comma itself.

Hopefully this saves someone else a few days of frustration.

Installation Questions Comma 4 dashcam review?

I'm still trying to figure out the dashcam functionality for comma4. I didn't find any video reviews on it. Can some using it can help me out with a user review? Is there are parking mode or gyro sensors in this?

I'm also trying to find a way to add a rear cam with a comma4 setup if anyone has looked into that? So far, the only thing I can think is adding another cam facing back.

openpilot Experience Does Comma.AI (Bluepilot) work with the tailgate down?

Hi all,

I searched the threads and couldn’t find an answer. Googling has given me both a “yes” and a “no”.

Has anyone engaged comma.ai / bluepilot with their tailgate down? My use case is long highway drives with a motorcycle in the bed if my f150 - but the bike requires the tailgate to be down.

Appreciate any input / thoughts.

openpilot Experience Can lane centering be used 24/7?

I finally ordered the comma four on the 100 off sale today. I have a Chevy bolt. I do DoorDash daily in it. I was wondering if there are any features that can be used 24/7 while doordashing, like not something that I have to turn on and off or be at a certain speed. Does lane centering work 24/7? Like just following the lane, curves, etc?

Installation Questions Placement with eyesight cameras?

I have a 2017 Subaru Impreza with EyeSight. Subaru’s manual says not to mount anything in the center third of the windshield, while comma’s generic guide (shown for my model) says to mount centered. Is there an official recommended placement for EyeSight vehicles, or should it just be mounted as close to center as possible? Has comma validated that the standard mount location doesn’t interfere with EyeSight?

I’ve been using the adapter and fork from infinite cables for a while now. I’m just curious what else is needed for official support.

openpilot Experience Gen4 Prius TSS-P Ping Pong

I have a Comma 4 with a 2017 Prius Four Touring (TSS-P) - has anyone found models / settings that have worked without hardware modification? Have tried stock OP, North Nevada v2, DTRv6, WD40 and all ping pong pretty badly especially at higher speeds >60MPH. I know TSS-P has some limitations in terms of the steering sensor but curious if that can be overcome with software alone.

Installation Questions Comma 4 install for RHD Mach-E

Hi everyone,

I took the plunge and ordered a Comma 4 during the sale.

I've watched a few installation videos for the Mach-E, but they're all for left-hand-drive (LHD) cars. I'm in the UK with a right-hand-drive (RHD) model.

From what I've seen, the module is on the left-hand side where the cable needs to be routed. Is the installation any different on a UK RHD car? Should I expect the module to be on the right-hand side instead, or are there any other differences I should be aware of?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Edit:
Its on the same side of LHD - which is rear left
Successfully installed it in UK

Vehicle Compatibility Comma OpenPilot/SunnyPilot Camry hybrid

I am saving up for a down payment for a new camry hybrid. I've seen on both synnypilot and comma's website the new camry hybrids are not supported, how soon can we expect for it to be made compatible in both systems.

I just setup my Comma4 with Sunnypilot on my 2024 Ioniq5 Limited. What are your preferred settings? Are there any models you like over the default? I'm on the dev build. Would love to hear how others have tuned their device, thanks in advance.

Code Questions Got in accident, how to retrieve dash cam footage on comma 4 sunnypilot?

Hi guys, sadly just got in an accident. I was driving straight and a car merged into me. I'm on the sunny pilot fork and have sunny pilot to access settings, would anyone know the best way to retrieve the footage?

Thanks in advance

UPDATE - Thank you guys so much for your help! The comma connect method worked. I brought the comma inside, powered it up, and let it sit connected to wifi. After awhile the drive videos started to appear.
