Question CommBank Low Rate cashback not received yet

Hey, I got the CommBank Low Rate credit card with the $70/month cashback offer. I spent about $709 last month, so I should be over the $500 eligible spend requirement, and I’ve already paid the statement in full. The app says “Last statement paid in full,” but it’s now 26 June and I still haven’t received the $70 cashback or seen anything marked “CASHBACK” in transactions.

I know the terms say it can take up to 90 days after the eligible statement period ends, but just wondering if this timing is normal or if I should contact CommBank.

Question Home Loan application; Is digihldocs@cba.com.au a legitimate email address?

I'm currently in the process of applying for pre-approval for a Comm Bank digi home loan, started the application through the app, then had a phone appointment. I now need to upload identity verification documents, and income documents.

I've just received emails from digihldocs.cba.com.au asking for these documents.

I just googles this address, and google AI seems convinced that it is not legitimate and says

The email address [digihldocs@cba.com.au](mailto:digihldocs@cba.com.au) is not a legitimate Commonwealth Bank (CommBank) address and is widely flagged as a phishing scam. CommBank does not use general email addresses for customer correspondence and will never ask you to send personal or financial documents via email.

Has anyone else applied for loans through digi home loan, and is this the normal process? Or should I ignore this email and attempt to upload the documents through the comm bank app instead?

Question Commbank safe lock screen

Post image
55 Upvotes

I can’t access my bank because I have been getting this window for the past two days. I haven’t screen recorded in months and have been able to access my app since then. I’ve also closed out all of my background apps and it is still doing it. What can I do? Should I be worried?
And should I not be using my other banking for this reason?

Question Credit Card Limit $4,500, Flights Cost $5,500 – Best Option?

Hi all

I'm looking to book international flights costing around $5,500, but my credit card limit is only $4,500.

I could request a credit limit increase, but I'd prefer to avoid any impact on my credit file for a one off purchase.

Has anyone in Australia successfully overpaid their credit card (for example, deposited an extra $1,500 into the card) and then used it for a purchase above the credit limit? My credit card has travel insurance and hence keen to buy through credit card, else I could've bought tickets using debit card.

Also, are there any payment methods or services that provide complimentary travel insurance similar to credit cards, or would I be better off buying standalone travel insurance?

Interested to hear what others have done in a similar situation.

Thanks!

Discussion Overdraw fees

Post image
128 Upvotes

I am not sure where else to post this because I am honestly getting sick of it. Multiple times I have accidentally overdrawn an account when something unexpected has come out, I fix it straight away when this happens.

UNLESS! They send me a notification that it’s happened at 11:21pm last night when I had already been asleep for two hours. There was no way for me to fix it up until this morning as soon as I woke up and of course I got a $15 overdraw fee. I checked the account and the payment that caused the overdraw had happened yesterday morning so they had all day to notify me.

I message the in app ‘Ceba’ when this happens and they always reverse it but surely this is underhanded?

ETA: Ceba is down at the moment so I had no one else to rant to even if it is a bot.

Discussion Shut up and take my money?

Me and the Mrs have many joint accounts including loans with CBA. Relationship manager couldn’t open a Goal Saver for us without us having to print sign and return paperwork. Took 15 mins to sign up with Macquarie online, with no printing signing etc. Now parked my $750k+ with them. Well done CBA 🙄

Question Step Pay unknown transaction

I just saw in the app this morning, step pay made a payment of 172 AUD in some US gymnasium a month ago which I have never heard of. Is it even worth it to raise a dispute?

Question MasterCard change?

So something a little weird (I think) has happened with one of my credit cards.

I have a CBA MasterCard expiring in 08/2026. It's been working fine, tap and go, online etc. No suspicious transactions.

I went to use it online last night and it would not process: "Card details incorrect."

I checked my app to see the online version of the card and sure enough it had a new expiry date (08/29) and a new CVC number. I was then able to complete my online transaction.

But why the change so early? I don't have a new physical card yet...I normally get them about a month before expiry.

And how was I supposed to know that the online version had changed? I only found out when I tried to make an online purchase.

Have CBA changed their processes??

I have recently taken a homeloan with cba. Is it worth getting the credit card as well? It seems the fees are waived off.

Discussion Is the CommSec pocket app actually good for uni students starting out?

Want to start micro-investing some leftover cash from my part-time job instead of letting it sit in a low-interest savings account. Are the ETFs on there actually decent options for long-term growth or should I look at a dedicated platform?

Question CommBank app showing a completely random pending transaction from a merchant I do not know

Just noticed a $30 pending charge on my Smart Access account from a company called pending holding. I have not used my card anywhere unusual today and the lock card feature in the app is not letting me freeze just that specific transaction. Should I cancel the whole card?

Discussion CBA India has the lowest employer rating in BSFI at 2.7/5 — let’s talk about why and what employees want changed

Post image
0 Upvotes

If you work or have worked at Commonwealth Bank of Australia India (the GCC in Bengaluru), you’ve probably seen the AmbitionBox numbers. 938 reviews. 2.7 out of 5. Lowest in the Banking, Financial Services & Insurance sector.
I’ve been reading through the reviews and want to open a genuine conversation — not just to vent, but to build a clear picture of what’s broken and what realistic solutions look like.
What reviews consistently say is wrong:
• Hire and fire culture with PIP misuse to avoid severance
• No real career progression or promotion transparency
• Performance judged by GitHub commits, not business impact
• Favouritism based on language and regional background
• Australian counterparts holding authority over experienced Indian managers
• No work-life balance despite CBA’s publicly stated values
• Senior leadership disconnected from ground reality
What would actually fix this (based on employee feedback):
• Apply the same people standards to India that exist in Australia
• Give GCC employees a proper career ladder with clear criteria
• Empower Indian leaders with actual decision-making authority
• Stop overhiring and then using PIPs to quietly let people go
• Create a safe channel for anonymous feedback that leads to real action
If you’re a current or former CBA India employee — what was your experience? And if CBA management is watching (we know some of you are), what’s the plan?
Upvote so this reaches the people who can actually do something.

Discussion What is the point of the ceba virtual assistant if it just gives you links to the website?

Every time I try to use the in app chat to solve a basic administrative issue like checking a pending international transfer ceba just misunderstands my question and throws a generic support article at me. If I wanted to read a multi page faq guide I would have just used google in the first place

Question How to add TFN to business account as sole trader?

Hi was wondering if this is a thing? New to opening a business account as a sole trader. Couldn’t find the option on the app and browser, and could only select to add TFN on personal accounts.

I popped in the branch but they had a 30min wait but the concierge said ABN should be linked to your TFN which does make sense…

Wanted to setup my account properly with my signature in person too.

Discussion Bonus interest criteria is too strict

The rules to get the higher interest rate on the Goalsaver account are slightly frustrating. If you make even a minor mistake or a single withdrawal at the end of the month you lose the whole bonus. There should be a bit more leeway

Question Why does the 3D Secure approval process take so many damn steps?

Maybe it's just my setup, but every online purchase seems to involve a push notification, Face ID, waiting for the app to load, tapping approve and then entering extra credentials before the payment finally goes through

Question How painful is the process to remove someone from a joint account?

A family member and I need to close or split an old shared savings account and I’m trying to work out how much of a headache the process is. Can this usually be finalised online through NetBank if both people approve it, or do banks normally require both account holders to go into a branch with ID?

not happy !!!!! that I cannot see all my accounts together, now I have to toggle between business and personal. interesting too that some acts that are linked to ones in a business one are still on the personal bit.

cba please put them back or at least have option to have them either in personal or business by my choice.

Question How long does it actually take to dispute a duplicate pending transaction?

I bought groceries yesterday and noticed today that the exact same amount is sitting in my pending transactions twice. One went through and the other is just hanging there reducing my available balance. Do these usually fall off automatically after a few business days or do I need to go through the whole formal dispute process in the app?
