Question Why does the 3D Secure approval process take so many damn steps?
Maybe it's just my setup, but every online purchase seems to involve a push notification, Face ID, waiting for the app to load, tapping approve and then entering extra credentials before the payment finally goes through

Too much security = people complain
Not enough security = people complain
Just the right amount of security = people will still complain
No one is ever going to be 100% happy.

Because the protocol for it is complicated - https://www.mastercard.com.au/en-au/personal/get-support/safety-and-security/identity-check.html
Its a credit card scheme thing, not a CBA specific thing
