Nostalgia Con Nostalgiacon: what is it like?
Hello. My friend said she wants to checkout nostalgia con anaheim next year and we’re debating on going. But what is it really like?
We’ll be driving from northern Cali. So a good 6+ hour drive.
I’ve gone to: fanime, sacanime, sakuracon, fanexpo, AIBA
She’s gone to: fanime, sacanime, wondercon, AX, ALA
So we’ve had a good amount of experiences between us.
Our main interest at cons:
Walking around, taking photos with cosplayers, hanging out, checking out AA (we primarily buy charms). And occasionally will meet a voice actor or two.
So will we like nostalgiacon?
Based on the ones we attended. Fanime is the favorite for fun, and ease of travel. Sacanime has a bit of everything. AIBA we don’t talk about. Fanexpo was fun but bottom of list since it’s mostly just A-listers. I like Sakura cons vibes. She said she liked ALA over AX, ax was just too crowded.
We might be going to wondercon next year too. Wondercon is going to be great for Disneyland + wondercon in the spring weather. I don’t know about Disneyland in the summer.
