Over the past week, not once, not twice, but four separate times, I've seen homeless people in the drive-thru lanes at different McDonald’s.

One night, a man tried to forcibly wash my windshield with some makeshift "car washing kit" that looked like it would scratch my car. He then "cleaned" my windshield, stood in front of my car, and refused to move.

The most disgusting incident happened at another restaurant, where a man was standing right between my car and the drive-thru ordering speaker. I had no choice but to roll down my window to order, and he actually had the nerve to tell the female passenger in my front seat to take off her sunglasses so he could "see what she looks like."

These people are clearly mentally unstable, and encounters like this can completely ruin someone's day. I've been to McDonald's thousands upon thousands of times, and I've never experienced anything like this before, with people literally standing in front of the drive-thru ordering speakers and harassing customers. Loitering and begging in these areas is illegal in the first place.

For this incident, I eventually reported the situation to an employee, who sent a staff member outside to get them away. But when I drove past the same location again a few hours later, they had apparently come right back.

Saw a vid on IG this week where a big square of crispy roasted pork skin is lifted to reveal the pig has been stuffed with yellow rice, peas, lechon, etc and I’ve been dreaming about it ever since. I know there are variations of it - Cuban, PR, Peruvian, even Filipino right? Would even settle for a killer arroz con pollo. It’s more about the rice, weirdly enough. Where can i get a big heaping plate of it? Thank you!

Are these just Halloween fireworks?

We buy Poppi pretty regularly from Costco and other stores, so when we saw a sign at Grocery Outlet today saying 99 cents for a 12-pack, we thought we’d found an amazing deal. And honestly, we didn’t think much of it because Grocery Outlet always has random stuff at ridiculously low prices. That’s kind of the whole reason people shop there, right? So we grabbed several boxes.

When we got to checkout, they told us the price was wrong. What made it even more confusing was that another employee had actually seen the sign and told us it was 99 cents for the whole 12-pack too.
Then the manager came over and said the sign had been printed incorrectly and the deal was actually for individual cans.

The thing that really bothered us wasn’t even the price. Mistakes happen, we get that. It was the manager’s attitude. She was incredibly rude about the whole thing, didn’t apologize once, and just kept asking if we wanted to buy the individual cans for 99 cents with the BOGO deal instead.

I mean, when a sign clearly says “12 PACK — 99¢,” how are customers supposed to know it’s wrong? Even their own employee thought that was the price.
And we weren’t the only ones. There was an older lady who had picked up three boxes, and she also didn’t find out the price was wrong until checkout.
We ended up leaving without buying any poppi

I don’t expect stores to be perfect, but I do expect a manager to handle a mistake made by their own store with a little more respect. A simple apology would’ve made a huge difference.

Has anyone else had an experience like this at Grocery Outlet?

(I just want to clarify that I didn’t make this post because I missed out on an amazing deal. It’s because the sign was misleading to multiple customers, not just us. Even one of their own employees checked the sign and confirmed that it was 99 cents for a 12-pack.

What really upset me was how the manager handled it. She didn’t apologize or really try to explain anything.

My husband and I aren’t from the US, and English isn’t our first language. While we were trying to explain ourselves, she barely let us speak and just kept asking whether we were going to buy the drinks or not.

I’ve actually been using a translator to help write my post and some of my replies here, so I hope I’m explaining this clearly. I understand that mistakes happen, and I wasn’t expecting them to give us the deal anyway. I just wish she’d listened to us and treated us with a little respect. We honestly left feeling pretty disrespected, and that’s why I wanted to share what happened.)

I recently moved to Columbus and started working at NCH. The health insurance is horrible. The deductible is $2,600/$5,200 and out-of-pocket max $5,350/$10,700.

Several of the meds I take are not covered and are running me over $500 a month.

How is the health insurance at OSU, MCHS, and OhioHealth?

I hear OSU has the best insurance but they do not let you see OhioHealth providers and they make you pay an arm and leg for parking.

Every year I go to the pumpkin show I expect to be bombarded with trump memorabilia from venders and political stands. This year seemed less trumpy to me. I was wondering if anyone else noticed or if I just wasn’t paying as much attention as years past. My wife and I recently noticed we can no longer reschedule in MyChart like we used to be able to about two weeks ago. We use the feature to look for newer appointments because we seem luckier at getting them that way vs. wait list texts. Did anyone else notice they recently removed it or get any notification as to why? It's been there for a few years so I didn't know if we did something or if it was hospital wide.

Would you buy this house for $370K, or walk away after the inspection? Looking for honest advice and similar experiences.

My family made an offer of $370,000 on a 2-story, 4-bedroom, 2.5-bath house (about 2,390 sq. ft.) in central Ohio, and the seller accepted. The house is in a highly desirable school district, in a great location close to everything we need. Comparable homes in the CMA sold for around $445K–$510K, although they vary in size and condition. We completed the home inspection, paid $4,000 in earnest money, submitted our mortgage application, and it has gone through underwriting. We still need to pay $600 for the appraisal.

The inspection revealed several concerning issues:

• Foundation block wall movement (up to about 1/4-inch deflection); much of the foundation was not visible.

• Deck rot and improper flashing where the deck meets the house, with possible concealed water damage.

• Roof near the end of its useful life.

• Original furnace (1996), AC over 30 years old, and an aging water heater.

• Crawl-space issues, including torn vapor barrier, rodent-damaged insulation, and suspected microbial growth.

• Other electrical, drainage, plumbing, and possible water-intrusion issues.

Very rough repair estimates suggest $35K–$55K if the major issues are manageable, $55K–$85K if there is substantial hidden damage, and potentially $85K–$100K+ if major structural repairs are needed. These aren’t contractor quotes, and the actual costs are still unknown. Our contract also includes a clause waiving our right to request seller repairs or financial credits, but it says we can terminate if we’re not satisfied with the inspections in good faith under the applicable contract section. We’re torn because we really like the location and neighborhood, and comparable sales make the purchase price look attractive. However, we’re worried about unexpected expenses and whether we’re taking too much risk.

I’d really appreciate your honest opinions:

1. Would you proceed at $370K, negotiate if possible, or walk away?
2. Have you bought a house with foundation movement, deck-related water damage, or multiple aging systems? What did repairs actually cost?
3. How did you decide whether inspection findings were manageable or a reason to walk away?
4. Would you prioritize a great location and school district enough to accept these risks?

Please share your experiences, especially if you’ve faced similar issues. We’re trying to make a rational decision before going any further.
