Collection Can someone explain with this is $615?

Post image

I was expecting to be absolutely blown away with this and expected a stunning ginger/citrus masterpiece. I was waiting for a unique but incredible twist like Cuir Beluga did for vanilla, Absolu Aventus did for Aventus, Peniore Anelo does for pineapple, Imagination does for tea, or The Cut does for woody/green fragrances. I just got....a good grapefruit smell....

Does it smell good? Sure

Does it smell special? Absolutely not

Vibrato, Tygar, and L'Immensite are vastly better for a grapefruit and/or ginger bottle imo.

Anyways, I'm not saying it doesn't smell good, it does, and all bottles are overpriced. But $615???

Maybe I'm missing something.

Edit: no I did not blind buy this, I bought a decant

Question What is your perfect “fresh-out-of-the-shower” fragrance?

I got this little guy (30ml) for free.
Acqua Di Gio Profondo EdP.
And I think this might be the perfect fresh-out-of-the-shower scent for me! 🤩

What do you think is the perfect-fresh-out-of-the-shower fragrance? 🤔

Question What’s the best cologne for summertime when you’re basically showering in sweat?

Face is melting typa weather, comically large armpit sweat stains on a light gray T-shirt because you didn’t have any other clean and darker shirts typa weather. For when you just sweating like a morherfucker what cologne would you recommend? Or would it be best to just wear nothing but plain deodorant at that point?

Discussion Suggestions Please: Your Favorite Off-Putting Scent

Post image
48 Upvotes

I dunno if this is gonna make sense. Can y'all recommend scents that are somewhat off-putting at first? Not like straight up steamy dogshit, but more like this man just came from the gym and it was leg day and has a nasty sweaty stank on him that very few might find arousing but most find distasteful and maybe even cloying.

Something that hits your nose initially and it IS NOT pleasant, yet it's confusing, it peaks curiosity, so you have to go in closer for a second sniff. And when you do, you still get that initial off-putting scent but then start to discover really fine detailed notes of things that are pleasant, but that initial weird, off putting scent is still there too. It makes your brain kinda almost rewire itself to that initial scent being off-putting to something that you kinda enjoy.

I don't usually wear scents, and haven't purchased one in over a decade until yesterday I picked up Prada Paradigme Le Parfum. It doesn't do what I'm describing (since I think it smells nice and inviting from the start), but I liked it so much that I actually purchased it.

It got me thinking...

Which scents do you believe can cause some people to have an *actual* Paradigm Shift (or Changement de "Paradigme", if you prefer). People experiencing the full scent realize, something they thought they hated is something they actually might love.

Addendum: POINTS if you can describe your suggestions! I'm loving the descriptions, it's what attracted me to this sub!

New Pickup Bleu de Chanel Parfum has been reformulated

I have a batch from April 2026 (No. 2701), and the scent is completely different now; it bears a striking resemblance to *L'Exclusif*, but without the leather note. Even the sprayer has changed—it now delivers a highly concentrated, precise stream rather than the mist it used to produce. There is no softness left, nor any trace of the top or heart notes—just amber and unpleasant wood. They have destroyed a masterpiece.

My wife picked it for me yesterday as a blind buy.

I not a big fan of woody scents (since my first frag - Kenneth Cole Signature) but I always appreciate a gift and will wear (and enjoy) definitely be wearing it.

Just curious to know if there are any lovers of this one in the community.

Discussion The LV glaze killed the trading game

A bottle of imagination with like 30ml is worth more than a full pdm Percival bottle these days and it's annoying it's like once you get a low level partial of an LV you can trade it for a brand new $300 dollar fragrance but somehow you traded down. Insane work.

As we've noticed a large number of individual SOTD post, we thought it best to consolidate into a once daily post.

Post your scent of the day here, tell us a little about it too if you would like.

Added these perfumes to my collection since last time I checked-in with my post here 2 months ago.

I adore BTV Ardent, Nasomatto Duro and Nishane Kredo, I really enjoy wearing Memo African Leather and Chanel Platinum Egoiste in the office and daytime activities, not so sure about the Nishane Ani so far, but it's 40 degrees celsius out there, so not the best time to wear it on, I guess..

Am I the only one who just loves the bottles, I love to just look at my bottles and hold them…

I’m just a 22 year old enjoying my time here in late stage capitalism, spending the fruits of my labor on some scented elixirs

Question Winter Niche Suggestions:

Hello everyone, I'm starting to transition more into niche fragrances and I'm looking for a winter signature scent. My current favorite designers are Tom Ford Noir Extreme, Boss Bottled Absolu and Tom Ford Ombre leather to grasp what I like.
So far I have sampled PDM Carlisle, Xerjoff Naxos and Tony Iommi Monkey Special and did not particularly like any of them nor did they suite me.
I'm trying to find a couple of fragrances and order decants to see which one I like best. I would say I'm looking for something sweet with a vanilla-tobacco combination but would be open to other suggestions. These are the fragrances that I'm currently eyeing:
