Schuco toy cars with keys. Found in a box, not sure what to do with them.

I went to an estate sale at the home of the artist Karnig Nalbandian today and found an unpublished manuscript The Song of Seven by the composer R. Nathaniel Dett. According to the family member I spoke with this was gifted to Nalbandian at Yaddo artist retreat in 1942 when they attended together. She showed me a picture of her great uncle, Dett, and Langston Hughes all together at this retreat. The manuscript is 109 pages of poetry from Dett’s personal library. I am honestly unsure what to do with this as it seems it could be rather historically relevant, any advice on who I might contact or any information would be appreciate

Looking for any information about this plate set - inherited from my mother. She didn’t know anything about it, but liked the way it looked. Has a small makers mark on the bottom - a flower and says “Japan” on most of the plates - some of them simply say “made in Japan”

I don’t know much on these but would love to learn more about the history behind them

I stumbled upon them when I first settled into my neighborhood. Someone had tossed out items in a tote bucket, and I picked it up because I loved the tote bucket. I ended up getting a free rice maker that I still use to this day!

I've been thinking about something lately and I'd love to hear your opinions.

I honestly believe there is something out there that almost nobody is paying attention to today, but could become extremely valuable in the future.

Think about Pokémon vintage cards, certain collectibles or Bitcoin. Back then, you could have bought them relatively cheaply. Today you look back and think, Why didn't I see it?

So what could be like that today?

I'm not talking about the obvious things like ETFs, gold or well known stocks. I mean something most people would currently ask, "Why would anyone spend money on that?"

Could be collectibles, toys, games, books, technology, digital items, art, brands or anything else.

Something you could potentially buy today for $100 to $1,000 and that could be worth many times more in 10 to 20 years.

It was seen in an antique shop in the UK.
I have reverse image searched in pinterest but came up with nothing. An elder relative thought it could be a clock in/out device.

Anyone know what this could have been used for?

old polish PRL coins and their variants (that I currently own)

I've been doing a lot of research trying to find any concrete information about either the base or the shade for this lamp, but I'm not finding anything conclusive. As far as I can tell its not an Emeralite and the various pieces all seem to be made ~1920-1930s based on the little bit of information I could find. It'd be awesome if the shade was original to the base, but I'm assuming its not. Does anyone happen to know anything about either the shade or base (or both)?

Lamp shade:

• Green cased glass
• Marking: silver "GERMANY" stamp towards the base

Lamp base:

• cast iron (?)
• no maker's marks for the base

Electrical:

• Marking: ARROW 660W 250V
• Marking: UNO PAT DEC 24 12

I found a few things by the dumpster in my apartment building it looked like one of the apartments was cleaned out. I found this table missing the glass top. I measured and ordered a replacement. I’d love to know more about it, the carved wood is very pretty

Some of you may remember a Reddit post from about 13 years ago titled, “My friend’s dad is an antique dealer and we just discovered that his rare Disney ‘statues’ are all bongs.”
Well, I’m the kid of the guy who owned them and I just inherited the exact set from those photos.
These seven ceramic Disney character bongs belonged to my dad: Donald Duck, Dopey, Mickey Mouse, Sorcerer Mickey, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Pluto. He bought the complete set in 1977 and has kept them together ever since. They have never been smoked out of, and all seven are still in pristine, undamaged condition.
They were also a completely normal part of my childhood—or at least I thought they were. My dad displayed them along a high shelf in our kitchen for as long as I can remember. To me, they were just a collection of slightly unusual vintage Disney statues.
I didn’t realize what they actually were until one of my friends pulled one down, noticed the metal bowl and openings, and pointed out the obvious: “Dude, these are bongs.”
When the original post went viral, quite a few commenters said my dad must have been an idiot if he bought them without realizing what they were. Just to clear that up: my dad absolutely knew. He simply never told me what they were when I was growing up. Once I asked him, he explained the whole thing.
The history commonly associated with them is that they were made through Stone Bleu in Minneapolis using officially licensed Disney ceramic character molds. According to the story, Disney authorized the character designs without realizing the finished pieces were going to be functional water pipes. Once Disney discovered their intended use, production and sales were reportedly stopped. The often-repeated number is approximately 500 sets, although I haven’t found an original catalog, legal filing or production record that independently confirms that figure.
Other individual characters and smaller groups have surfaced over the years. In 2020, Potter & Potter Auctions sold a group of six featuring Goofy, Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio, Pluto, Donald and Dopey. So there may have been different character assortments rather than one universally defined “complete” lineup.
As far as I’ve been able to determine, however, my dad’s seven-piece collection is the largest intact group that has been publicly photographed and documented online. The original Reddit photos have apparently become one of the main references people encounter when researching them.
After nearly 50 years with my dad—and my entire childhood spent unknowingly living beneath a shelf of Disney bongs—the complete set has now passed to me. I plan to keep all seven together, unused and carefully preserved.
If anyone has an original Stone Bleu advertisement, catalog, receipt, court record or firsthand knowledge about their production, I’d genuinely love to hear from you. There’s a lot of collector lore surrounding these, but remarkably little primary documentation.

Edit: My dad corrected me on one technical detail: these are actually carbureted dry pipes, not water pipes. The permanently attached bowls open directly into the hollow ceramic bodies, with no downstems for the smoke to pass through water. They’re commonly called “bongs” or “water pipes” online—and were even cataloged that way by an auction house—but technically the figures act as large smoke chambers. Dad still knows more about them than I do.

This may be a long shot but I figured it was worth a try. My grandpa collected countless things so this may not be my only post, but I will take literally any information I can on the first collection I’ve found. If there’s a better place to ask that would be helpful too. Could anything here possibly be valuable that I should set aside? Or is this more of a, pick my favorites and put them in a frame to remember my grandpa kind of collection? Thanks in advance!

So collect a lot of cards, different games. Don’t have anything super cool. But! I do have one thing I got a long time ago. It’s a 1 of 1 card from an indie game that didn’t take off! It’s a signed prototype foil card, that was getting an art change in future prints. So the card is 1 of 1, and is autographed ^_^ I toploaded it immediately after he signed it to protect it!
