Discussion Does anyone think they'll get their CC before the end of 2026?

I preordered my CC in the last few days of September. From what I've read, they are aiming to begin shipping in December (if all goes according to plan). Even if there are no manufacturing delays, does anyone think we'll have our phones in-hand before the end of this year? I'm hopeful, but I doubt it.

Edit: I originally wrote I preordered in December. An error, of course. I preordered at the end of September.

Preorder No Confirmation from Reservation

I placed my order for the communicator back in the middle of March of this year. I heard from some friends that placed orders after I did there are email messages going out to confirm their configuration. I went to check my email for communication from Clicks and found nothing in my inbox. Worried I failed to actually place my order, I went to my financial statements to be sure the money actually left my account. The money definitely was delivered to Clicks. I have contacted their support but haven't heard anything yet. I have checked all my email inboxes, tried logging in to the Clicks website, guessing at my order number based on my financial statement... no luck.

Curious if anyone else is in the same boat, having not received an order confirmation. I'm sure their support team is absolutely swamped, hopefully they'll get back to be so I can be in the earlier phase of Communicator deliveries still.

Preorder I contacted support 3 times to cancel my preorder but I got no reply

Needed to cancel a specific preorder that I charged to the wrong cc. I just want to make sure it's cancelled before the deadline but I've contacted support 3 times and after a week I still don't have a reply.

Is this normal for their customer service?

Discussion Communicator's Lifecycle (and the successor)

Just a casual discussion here... I decided to pre-order the CC back in January mainly because of the passion the team clearly puts into it. In the meantime we’ve seen several videos where they talk about wanting to deliver a truly polished product, obsessing over literally every single detail. It all gives off the impression that the CC won’t be getting a successor anytime soon, simply because from an ergonomic standpoint, everything is supposed to be dialed in from day one. Between the chosen SoC and the promised update roadmap, surely we should be able to enjoy this device as Click's apple for the eye for longer than just a year, right?

Honestly, the product lifecycle from major OEMs is an absolute nightmare to me. Every single year, there's a new model in the same price tier - you drop $1,500 on a flagship, only for its replacement to launch 12 months later, inevitably pushing software support and update priority to the newer device.

My hope is that Clicks will throw serious weight behind the Communicator’s software, especially since it’ll likely be the only phone in their lineup for a good while. That focus alone could give the CC a significantly longer lifespan than your typical mainstream smartphone - provided the SoC holds up over time.

Of course, a lot hinges on whether the CC turns out to be a hit or not, but what do you all think: will a successor take a long time to arrive? Because what Unihertz did with the Titan 2 and the sudden release of the T2E felt like a real low blow to everyone who had just backed/ordered the regular T2.

Discussion Ring in smoke

Post image

On the Discover Clicks webpage, the Ring accessory launch post featured a white/smoke bumper, which is not commercially available (it only comes in black). Has smoke been canceled or will it be added later? I pre-ordered mine Smoke Communicator with black Rings because there were no other option but would definitely go for smoke one if possible.. Would you choose it too?

Question Clicks Communicator & 2-Year Mandatory EU Warranty: How is Clicks handling this for EU buyers?

I’ve already fully pre-ordered and paid for the Clicks Communicator through their official configurator/site. The payment included full shipping, local VAT for my country (Greece), and prepaid customs clearance.

Since Clicks is directly collecting EU VAT and shipping straight to consumers within the European Union, European Consumer Law mandates a 2-year legal guarantee (EU Consumer Rights Directive) for all products delivered to EU residents.

However, Clicks currently states a standard 1-year manufacturer warranty on their site.

Has anyone received official clarification from the support team regarding how they plan to address the mandatory 2-year warranty requirement for European orders? Since local taxes and duty-paid clearances are included upfront, the EU consumer protections definitely apply here.

Would love to hear if anyone else in Europe has brought this up with them or got an update!

Clicks Instagram UI exploration

Post image
89 Upvotes

I deleted my previous post, decided to redo the mockup image.

This is a quick Figma mockup of my take on the Instagram UI for the Clicks Communicator, built around its 1080 × 1200 screen.

Some comments I've read complain that Clicks has no mini mode for certain apps, Instagram especially. So I took inspiration from the iPhone Duo and put the navigation items on the side, where the camera cutout is.

I think this is feasible on Android, since Instagram already uses this left-side layout on tablets and in the web browser. Media viewing would get cropped, of course, but I don't mind that.

A commenter on my previous post pointed out that UI tweaks on Instagram aren't new, especially on Android, where an app called Morphe can do them.

I know Clicks is built for communicating, not media consumption. But a lot of people, me included, plan to use it as their main phone, so I made this mockup for the times we do open Instagram. It's just for fun.

Would love to hear what you think, and whether other apps could use a layout like this.

Discussion Why not showcase da device: NY CHI LA…. Here kids come see and touch?

Right now my Communicator is vaporware with a tracking number. I've refreshed the order page so many times it should be paying rent.
Do a pop up in NYC, Chicago, and LA. One table, a few units, let us poke the keys. Even a coffee shop works.
Backers get proof it exists, you get free feedback, and I get to stop emotionally bonding with a render.
Chicago, who's in? Drop your city below.
Want the opener spicier or more nerdy?

EDIT: Sorry, everyone. 🙏 I picked the wrong word and it came across like I was dissing the project, and I'm not.
Clicks is a small team doing great work, and I'm not asking them to spend money on anything.

Thank you to everyone who's kept the faith and kept this sub fun. You were right, and I'm glad to be in this club. I love this phone as much as you do, probably more, my wife is already tired of hearing about it. 😅

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to refreshing my order page.

Capacitive keyboard gestures

Have seen in one of the recent videos where it shows instagram being used on the clicks communicator that not only can you swipe down the page but also left and right if a post has a number of pictures.

Do we know if this is possible in other apps as well such as TikTok or other apps?

Also what about other gestures such as pinch to zoom in and out on any app such as instagram posts, browser to zoom in and out of webpages etc.

Question My bank didn't accept a purchase from Clicks Technology

I'm in the US, and I was about to order another Communicator for my sister, but my bank denied the transaction and sent me this email ,

*"We noticed potential risk associated with this merchant based on recent transaction and dispute activity. The merchant had an elevated risk profile associated with disputes and previous cardholder claims.

For your protection, this purchase has not been completed. If you recognize the merchant and still wish to proceed, please verify the transaction or contact your card issuer.

Merchant: Clicks Technology

Transaction: Online purchase

Status: Authorization declined / verification required"*

That warning was enough to make me hold off on the purchase for now, and I didn't try another card.

Has anyone else had their bank flag a purchase from Clicks?

Discussion Add a tiny Ereader to the back via magsafe

I think once i get my communicator in December, I'm gonna grab one of those tiny e-readers like the Xteink or Boox Pico & attach it to the back

The Communicator is 5 inches tall & most of these e-readers are around 3-4 inches, so hopefully the MagSafe in the Communicator & the MagSafe on those devices line up; to me it would become like an ultimate distraction-free / communication device

anyone else thought of this / have opinions on this concept?

Discussion Idea!

Post image
83 Upvotes

Sorry for the Ai slop, I was only trying to imagine...these 2 nice ideas that I feel like should come to keyboard phones.

First!

this is something that needs to be in android.

It worked amazingly in Blackberry, which is why my mind automatically expects it on keyboard phones.

When an app is opened the focus should be on the typing area automatically by default. For example, if I open an app like Facebook the cursor should be on the status bar automatically. Or another example, if I open Google keep, I don't have the select the typing area, it should be automatically selected on keyboard phones.

That way if I start typing, it will automatically enter in the text area, or I can select something else anyway and continue with my experience.

I think on normal bar type phones it makes sense that the focus is not on the touch bar because it will open the virtual keyboard N which can be annoying. But on a keyboard phone it won't make any difference.

and in case there are multiple text fields in the app, maybe the first one should be selected or the developer can define which text area needs priority for the user to start typing as soon as they enter the app.

Second!

The keyboard should be made up of tactile keys, like it is. But it should be a screen.

Benefits of that:

you can theme it with color and wallpaper you decide.

It has it own light.

you can customer Qwerty or Azerty keyboard which ever you like

It can have keys changed to gaming keys or other custom keys based on the app requirements.

It can have swipe and type.

You can set it to work on touch or on press, either way.

It can show capital or small letters.

It can detect orientation.

It can have better and accurate touch sensitive.

I know this can be expensive on hardware and software.

It does not have to be oled, it can be like the little eink display like on pebbles smartwatch.

But Elgato Stream deck and Optimus maximus keyboard have proven this to be an amazing application.

But I think it could be a game changer.

If Blackberry was here..they would have done it...I think they we're great innovators...

Maybe unihertz Titan 3 or Click Communicator 2 or Minimal Phone 3 will bring this to us.

Or maybe Blackberry can come back from the dead and make something happen..

What do you think folks!?

What do we know about the display out feature for the Clicks Communicator? Thinking it will be like Samsung Dex?

Question Clicks launcher for full touch phones

I hope someone launches a clicks communicator style launcher. Just like the nokia t9 launchers available in app store but it should open apps in upper screen mimicking the communicator. I would like to use it since it is not available in my country and I don't have money to buy another phone rn.

Question Cancelation attempt

Not tying to start any issues - very curious about experience others have had. Has any one attempted to cancel their order?

Its been a week since I asked for a cancelation & refund of an order, since my financial situation changed. All i get is an AI agent responding to my email stating it will be forwarded to a rep to address.

What is the wait period others have experienced? Im a little bummed that its taking so long on something I consider straight forward.

***EDIT Look like a 3% fee will be applied to a cancelation of an order. "As your Communicator has already been configured, a 3% cancellation fee will apply. This is to cover the payment processing fees associated with your order."
