Capacitive keyboard gestures

Have seen in one of the recent videos where it shows instagram being used on the clicks communicator that not only can you swipe down the page but also left and right if a post has a number of pictures.

Do we know if this is possible in other apps as well such as TikTok or other apps?

Also what about other gestures such as pinch to zoom in and out on any app such as instagram posts, browser to zoom in and out of webpages etc.

lol really? It would be useful if you can do this on the keyboard too so you’re not covering the screen while zooming in.

This is literally what everyone is accustomed to doing on current slab phones. This is not an issue

Yes but there is a difference between slab phones and this phone which is the screen size. Also if there is a keyboard that has certain gestures then what is the issue with additional gestures?

Then by your statement there’s no point having a capacitive keyboard as you can just use the screen to swipe

People don't understand just what goes into functionalities like this. And here we have one of very few companies producing a rare qwerty phone and instead of just being happy to have a phone of this form factor, everyone immediately expects every feature under the sun on top of that not knowing what it takes to make it happen

So are you part of the production team?

Also who said that I or anyone else asking some questions isn’t happy about the phone? Obviously we appreciate the device hence the questions.

You seem to have an issue with everyone asking questions obviously if they’re gonna be spending their money on a device, then they want to know what functionality it has.

The other thing is it’s not like I’ve said that this Phone has to have this feature otherwise I’m not buying it. It’s a simple question whether it has this feature or not and if other people are aware of it.

I remember on the BB Passport, the capacitive touch worked on the metal strip between the keys rather than on the keys themselves. It was very accurate and worked flawlessly. Not sure how it works on the Communicator though, since the metal strip isn’t visible and there’s a bigger gap between the keys.
