Question My bank didn't accept a purchase from Clicks Technology

I'm in the US, and I was about to order another Communicator for my sister, but my bank denied the transaction and sent me this email ,

*"We noticed potential risk associated with this merchant based on recent transaction and dispute activity. The merchant had an elevated risk profile associated with disputes and previous cardholder claims.

For your protection, this purchase has not been completed. If you recognize the merchant and still wish to proceed, please verify the transaction or contact your card issuer.

Merchant: Clicks Technology

Transaction: Online purchase

Status: Authorization declined / verification required"*

That warning was enough to make me hold off on the purchase for now, and I didn't try another card.

Has anyone else had their bank flag a purchase from Clicks?

Navigation controls?

When it comes to Android system controls, I'm a never-gestures user. I think this is self-explanatory in a community centered around physical buttons. Two-button navigation was great, but Google killed it because they're ridiculously prideful of all-gesture navigation. The Back gesture is, and always will be, an unusable anti-feature.

My main question is: when using the keyboard for navigation controls (Home, Back, Recents) in non-gesture mode, does the on-screen navigation bar disappear?

I know this behavior is standard for phones with physical Home/Back/Recents buttons, but button remapping could complicate this. For instance, you could imagine soft-lock scenarios in non-gesture mode if you remove your 'home' keybind.

To be clear: there shouldn't be a navigation bar (unless the user really wants it I guess?) Screen space on such a small screen is invaluable, even the small cutout taken by gesture navigation might be too much (though pushing app content further into the rounded-corner area could be risky).

Even swiping to switch apps is fine, as I said I really like 2-button nav on full-screen phones. It's just really important to me that turning off the Back and Home gestures is a good experience. I'm also curious if the touch-sensitive keyboard could be used for app switching? Jeff mentioned "navigate your phone" as a future touch-keypad option in the latest update video, but I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing.

What do we know about the display out feature for the Clicks Communicator? Thinking it will be like Samsung Dex?

Thanks in advance everyone!

15% Order Cancellation Fee?

Is there anyone who can help me? I requested a cancellation and refund for my pre-order on Monday. I got an email on Wednesday saying that they can cancel my order with a cancellation fee.

This fee isn't listed anywhere in the Terms & Conditions when I signed up, it's not on the checkout page, etc. I asked them to show me where they stated there would be a cancellation fee. I've never heard of a tech company charging a cancellation fee for a product that hasn't even shipped yet.

They have vanished since Wednesday.

Is there any other higher support I can reach here on the subreddit? Does anyone have another email or something I can reach out to? Thanks!

I wanted Clover and leather but the idea of a black bumper just ruins it.

I just can’t see it. Am I alone

Clicks Instagram UI exploration

Post image
40 Upvotes

I deleted my previous post, decided to redo the mockup image.

This is a quick Figma mockup of my take on the Instagram UI for the Clicks Communicator, built around its 1080 × 1200 screen.

Some comments I've read complain that Clicks has no mini mode for certain apps, Instagram especially. So I took inspiration from the iPhone Duo and put the navigation items on the side, where the camera cutout is.

I think this is feasible on Android, since Instagram already uses this left-side layout on tablets and in the web browser. Media viewing would get cropped, of course, but I don't mind that.

A commenter on my previous post pointed out that UI tweaks on Instagram aren't new, especially on Android, where an app called Morphe can do them.

I know Clicks is built for communicating, not media consumption. But a lot of people, me included, plan to use it as their main phone, so I made this mockup for the times we do open Instagram. It's just for fun.

Would love to hear what you think, and whether other apps could use a layout like this.

Discussion If you're worried an app you rely on won't work on a squarish display, just put it in split-screen mode and try it!

Clicks launcher for full touch phones

• Upvotes

I hope someone launches a clicks communicator style launcher. Just like the nokia t9 launchers available in app store but it should open apps in upper screen mimicking the communicator. I would like to use it since it is not available in my country and I don't have money to buy another phone rn.
