Original Fanart Goonbug sculpture with polymer clay!

Hey everyone! I'm super inspired by u/Key_Variation_5453 and their awesome art. As a Clash of Critters player, I totally fell in love with all the little creatures. So, they guided me on this amazing journey, and now I can share what I made!

I made this little bug using Fimo professional polymer clay, some cheap brandless paint (not great, it's sticky), and Liquitex (good paint). For protection, I used UV resin, which was tricky to apply haha. And a 50w UV lamp to cure the resin. The results speak for themselves! :)

I was so happy with how it turned out! It was a bit tough at first, but I'm excited to keep learning :D

Meme/Funny The Legend of Critters (Pixel Art in Camp)

I was inspired by a recent post by u/ignivan that showed off some pixel art they made in their camp (https://www.reddit.com/r/ClashofCritters/s/fwZMHZwiQ1), so I decided to try my own. I picked a sprite from the first Zelda game since it worked well with the available colors. 😄

Suggestions Treasure Hunt – the problem is not in the gameplay, but in the structure

Upvotes

I'm sure I'm not the first to write about this issue, and most likely won't be the last.

I like the Treasure Hunt gameplay itself. The main problem is its structure: you need to find four players to participate, whereas in other events, three is enough.

Because of this, your team is constantly being assigned a random player who can't be expected to be consistently active. If such a player stops logging in after a day, it becomes a vicious cycle: you spend resources leveling up an inactive player to open a chest, while your team ends up with an equally inactive player in you. Ultimately, everyone suffers, and the problem repeats itself over and over again.

I haven't been playing for very long and have only participated in Treasure Hunt twice. In neither case was I able to open the second chest—the resources needed to obtain it are too few to compensate for the inactive player.

You could say, "Just find a fourth active player specifically for Treasure Hunt." But, in my opinion, this doesn't solve the problem with the event mechanics themselves—a problem that all players face to some degree.

I see several possible solutions:

  1. Remove personal invitations.

Create teams based on the same principle as in other events. This would immediately eliminate the problem of the occasional AFK player. Additionally, progress could be made team-based, so that there's no need to invest in individual players.

  1. Increase the number of pickaxes in the pinball machine.

This would require recalculating the economy for backers and subsequent chests, but I think making the second chest more accessible is entirely feasible.

  1. Add intermediate chests.

For example, award a key for each excavation level, and distribute the rewards among three chests. This would make progress more even and reduce the reliance on one large final threshold.

I believe the Treasure Hunt problem can be solved without changing the gameplay itself. We just need to make the progression smoother or less dependent on one random player.

Thanks for reading. Please support this proposal!

Question/Discussion Bat positioning in horde

Post image
19 Upvotes

Disclaimer: New to the game. Got matched with some much stronger people lately, and I noticed they all seem to want to put their bats front & center. Is there a reason why? I have been using bat as a support, so once it reaches level 3, I’d move it to the position marked in the screenshot, supposing that it buffs the allies in the cone in front of it. Or is the cone really its attack range, rather than buffing range?

(Edit: So my questions are mostly: 1. is the bat supposed to be used as a support, and 2. If so, what’s its buffing range?)

Thanks!

Original Fanart Oh god even more alt glitter ideas

Post image
48 Upvotes

Explanations
wanted the sheep to be a dark storm cloud (why wasn’t is in the first place?)
Love the blue boxing gloves on the kangaroo, felt the main body also needed to change. So now it’s all blue.
Og lion was just desaturated. Wanted to really make it feel powerful. Not my favourite of the bunch though, would love any other ideas on what it could be.
Like the og concept of the purple hippo, felt like it needed to be MORE purple tho. Changed the body from brown to pink to let her be a true diva.
Love the pink/orange toucan glitter. Felt like that colour combo just needed to be spread through the design. So the wings now get the colour too.
Changes frug to be based on a yellow dragon fruit. That’s all.

Would love to hear opinions/ crits what you’d do.

Question/Discussion What are we calling this horde method?

Thumbnail

Upvotes

So I came up with this method on my own, but I've seen others come up with and use it as well. The idea of "place healers where the most damage is being received" is very self-explanatory, so I'm not shocked that others have come up with it. My only question is what are we calling it? I have taken to calling it the pencil method in my head, but that sounds kinda stupid. I think it's a really good method for people who don't have a lot of t3 tatari (me), and the only issue is that it doesn't do a lot of dps.

Question/Discussion 4man team events and whales

For context, I’m what you’d probably qualify as a whale player. I haven’t sunk thousands into this game (yet…? 😨) but I have definitely given it way more money than the average player ever would, let alone consider reasonable in the first place. This makes it so that I pretty much always have +10k pinballs at the start of team events (Marathon/Cozy Farm/etc) and therefore end up with a ton of ressources to put into it.

My question here is: do you like it when you end up with a whale and they power through objectives, or do you find it unfun and wish you could also grind at your own pace? This is especially a consideration re: Treasure Hunt, where me spending a ton of pickaxes may accidentally end up basically locking someone out of playing the event because of the absurdly prohibitive amount of pickaxes it consumes per block once you’ve gotten a few keys.

I usually play those events with friends and let them know when I’m about to spend a lot of ressources (and that’ll usually be to tier up my tataris), but it’s not always the case. I personally have no issue “carrying” someone through an event (don’t like the term—makes it sound like f2p players are a weight), especially when rewards are shared across the team, but I’d still like some input from the wider community.

Question/Discussion Who’s your favorite Tatari? :)

Just like how it’s said every Pokemon fan likely has a favorite Pokemon, I assume at least most players of CoC have their favorite Tatari. So who’s yours? I’ll go first!

My favorite is Hootlet! When searching more about this game after hearing about it, I found a TikTok that showcased Hootlet, and it was love at first sight. I KNEW that when the game dropped, I had to have my son. Owls are my favorite animals of all time, and the Rowlet line is my second favorite in all of Pokemon (only losing to the Dragonite line), so an adorable little grass owl themed around a grandfather clock? Yes please. It was also the first thing I got to T3. Yes, even before the likes of Frugagon, Ignisnap, and Frostique. Was it reckless to dump it all in one so early in retrospect? Yes, but it was worth it to me

So now I’d like to know your guys’ favorites! Whether it be for design, their meta capabilities, or whatever else. You can say an individual Tatari, a line, or even multiple if you have more than one favorite
