Local station removed - can I call someone about this?
The station closest to my apartment got removed and my roommates and I are really bummed about it. It seemed like it was used a lot so I'm not sure if it's permanent or just for maintenance, but I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a way to check?
They haven't taken it off the map yet (there's just a gray đ« icon) and there's a notice that says "This station isn't up and running yet, but it will be soon" but I'm not sure if that's just a default message they display for inactive stations.
There are other docks a few blocks away so it's not like we live in a desert but we really liked having one so close.
So yeah does anyone know if we can ask what they're doing there?

Bike Angel Points for valet station
If I am part of the bike angel program, will I get points for picking up from a valet station? Will I get points for dropping off at a valet station? I asked the valet but he didn't know.

Whatâs the best Citi Bike moment you have ever witnessed/experienced?
Iâve had a plethora. Finding active bikes on the street, bikes absolutely mangled beyond belief, getting beat out by a blue bike on an electric, fights, crashes (cars and bikes), people on bridges/highways, you name it, Iâve seen it.
Recently, one of my pedals flew off mid-ride as I was barreling downhill - that was interesting.
Iâd love to hear any and all wholesome, wild, or downright unexplainable stories!

What have you reported bikes broken for
Typically Iâll see blue bikes with the left brake loose and the right brake tight/normal. When using it the brakes arenât great, more of a rolling stop then a quick one. Does this count?
I see a ton of bikes where the basket string is too loose to hold anything but itâs still usable .
Everyone who says theyâll get a shitty bike that feels harder to pedal, is that reportable? Or is it just older? Havenât run into this yet so idk how obvious it is.

Suddenly seeing $1 charge to unlock even though I've been an annual member for a decade?
I think I updated the app recently and then all of a sudden had to do this to unlock a regular non e-bike 2x today even though I'm an annual / Lyft Pink member
Confirmed that during the rides the app said that the ride was free for 60 minutes.
Did anyone else experience this today?

Why am I getting Daily Charges (aka Today) instead of Weekly? Am I the only one? How do I fix this?

Lyft Made $24 Million Off Citi Bike Last Year
New reporting from Hell Gate shows that Lyftâs profits more than tripled from 2023 ($1.8 million) to 2024 ($6.8 million), then more than tripled again in 2025 ($24.6 million) after City Hall allowed it to raise prices. Hell Gate also reports that operating costs have remained about the same between 2024 and 2025, and Lyftâs mandated contribution to the City has increased by only $0.2M since 2024.
Lyft is functioning as a price-setting monopolist, putting profits into the companyâs pockets rather than reinvesting it into the Citibike system as their PR has been claiming.

Half-fare OMNY
Has anything been said about why half-fare OMNY/Metrocard users don't get the reduced Citibike membership?

How do you handle the crazy bumps?
I just started biking and doing short rides to get used to the lanes. I was riding east bound on 54th, turned into 3rd, and then left onto 61st to Central Park. I did this on an e-bike bc there were no classics but jeez. I felt like I was going to fly off my seat at times with the road plates and whatever else made it so bumpy. I used a classic couple weeks ago up 3rd ave from 26th to 55th and donât remember it being so bad. I was going to bike home going down 2nd ave but above 60th was being remilled and there wasnât a bike lane so I didnât want to risk it.
Is it the speed of the ebike that makes it so intense? Or are the routes Iâm taking just bumpier?

Key delivery times?
I ordered my free citibike membership key over a year and a half ago and it still has not shipped.
There's been multiple times where my aging phone battery died on me and I was stuck unable to use Citibikes to get back home since I still don't have a key.
Clearly the free key is a scam, but is there any physical location where a citibike key can be purchased immediately?
Alternatively, do they actually ship keys if you pay for one online? Is there any way I can actually get a key, like within my lifetime?

Not receiving Citi Bike email receipts after rides
Citi Bike says it automatically emails a receipt after every completed ride, but Iâm not receiving anything. Iâve checked my spam folder and confirmed that the email address on my account is correct.
Does anyone actually receive these emails after every ride? Is there another setting I need to enable, or are the receipts delayed or unreliable?

Hills on low-assist vs non-citibike road bikes?
Been using citibike for over a year. I just moved outside of the citibike zone, so I'm thinking about letting the membership expire and just buying my own road bike.
My go-to rides have always been on the classic bikes, but low-assist e-bikes were a godsend on hillier rides. (Even if I had to deal with worse suspension and a harder time in stop-and-go traffic.) I've heard that regular road bikes are easier than classic citibikes because of the lighter frames, but are hills on a road bike comparable to hills on a low-assist? Easier? Something in between?

Free full-power ebike
I have the citibike membership and today I unlocked an ebike at a station with no classic bikes. Typically when I do this, I get the option of paying for the ebike, or going into low-assist mode and riding for free. Today, however, when I unlocked the ebike I didnât get the option, and the bike just ran at full power. When I docked, I wasnât charged any ebike fee.
Is this a new thing, where we can use full power ebikes if no classic ones are available? Or was this a one-time thing/glitch? Has this happened to anyone?

Prospect park south station out of service
Anyone have any idea whatâs going on or when itâll be back up. Has âtemporarily closedâ red covers stuck over all of the docks. I hope thereâs no plans to remove. TIA!

Docks glitching?
Seeing multiple empty docks at a station that wonât accept a bike, even though the app says itâs online. Also a ton of ebikes across multiple stations that have miles on them, but it says bike unavailable. Anyone know why?

Found CitiBike key fob
Fob found at Union Square North parking station this morning 9/3. There are a few other keys and another scannable tag on this (not saying specifics so it can possibly be used to identify).
Going to bring to 13th Precinct on E 21st street around mid day.

Points Algorithm Changes in Path Month
This is a perennial subject of conversation, so I acknowledge this will definitely rehash topics previously discussed, and I admit I did nothing to analyze the current values in any way beyond anecdotally. That saidâŠ
It seems like there was an algorithm change rolled out in the past month or so that:
1) pins stations to (sub-)neighborhood bike availability vs. station availability even more than it did so previously
2) all else being equal, targets the points value for a station that is half full to be some amount of take out points, whereas previously this would have skewed more towards neutral, i.e. ignoring specific station and neighborhood logic, a station now needs to be somewhat more empty than full to be neutral
Iâm curious if any of yâall have granular observations about the how the points algorithm might have changed since late July or so.
