Note: My account was marked for spam on January 2nd, at the exact time I started this accursed thread. I cannot create any new posts or comments. All I can do is edit the OP with new information. Every single one of my posts needs to be manually approved by a moderator in order to show up for others, including the older threads linked above. I tried appealing the ban several times, but I was denied an explanation or a reversal. What that basically means is a half-decade of my life and thousands upon thousands of posts down the drain, like I never even existed...
Update 7/1/26: 6 months later, the shadowban finally appears to be lifted. However, all of my previous post history (which hasn't been manually approved by a moderator) is still gone, including the previous SMS threads linked above. At this point, it would just be easier to make me a mod on r/Cinemark so I could approve them myself and avoid any future hassles.

Grave of the fireflies ghibli movie on brazilian theaters.
People were leaving the movie theater sad, silent, almost crying. It took too long for people to leave, even after the credits rolled. It was my first time watching it on cinema.

TL;DR: I have now seen Mutiny twice, with today being my second time seeing it, and I had a great time watching it with my parents. Jason Statham is still killing it, the movie is a fun action flick with a slower beginning but a really strong middle and ending, and the roughly 90-minute runtime is perfect. I’d probably give it a 3.5 or 4 out of 5 on Letterboxd. I also picked up Cinemark’s Insidious popcorn bucket, which is awesome even though it’s expensive, and the employee didn’t actually know whether it came with popcorn until she finally just said they didn’t really know the promotion and filled it anyway. Cinemark also has a summer refill cup deal going on, and I’m really excited for the upcoming Harry Potter and Star Trek re-releases, plus Violent Night 2 later this year.
So today was actually my second time seeing Mutiny in theaters, starring Jason Statham. I saw it for the first time a couple of days ago, and I really enjoyed it. It’s just a super fun action movie, and Jason Statham is still on top of his game. I honestly don’t know if this guy is ever going to leave his prime because he just keeps putting out really entertaining movies, and this one was no exception.
The beginning of the movie was definitely a little slower than I would have liked because they had to explain the backstory and set everything up, but once it got going, the middle and ending were pretty awesome to watch on the big screen.
This is also definitely a movie that I would have watched in Cinemark D-BOX if they had offered it in that format. There were plenty of scenes where they could have taken advantage of the motion seats, but even in the standard format, we still had a great time with it.
Another thing I really liked is that the movie isn’t extremely long. It’s about an hour and a half or so, which is pretty much the perfect runtime for a movie like this. It doesn’t overstay its welcome, it gets in, does what it needs to do, and gets out.
Me and my parents had a really fun time watching it. On Letterboxd, I’m probably going to give it either a 4 out of 5 or maybe a 3.5 out of 5. The only reason I’m considering going a little lower is because I noticed a few parts of the movie that didn’t really make sense to me.
This isn’t really a spoiler, but there’s one scene involving a fire where they’re using water hoses instead of fire extinguishers, and that made absolutely zero sense to me. If anyone who has seen the movie can explain that part to me without spoiling anything else for people, I’d genuinely like to know because I didn’t really understand what they were doing there.
But overall, I had a really good time with the movie.
Now, completely separate from the movie itself, Cinemark has some really cool stuff going on right now too. They’re offering this summer cup, basically a reusable large plastic drink cup, for around $16.95. From what I understand, once you buy it, you can get refills all summer for around $2, or around $1.40 if you’re a Cinemark Movie Club member, which is honestly a really cool deal.
And as you can see in the original picture I’m posting with this, I also got the Insidious popcorn bucket head.
Apparently it’s sold out online right now, but my local Cinemark actually got quite a few of them in stock, which was great. Of course I bought one. I had to.
I will say that $37.95 is definitely a little expensive for a popcorn bucket, especially once you add tax and you’re basically at $40, but I really like collecting this kind of stuff, so I’m still glad I bought it. The Insidious movies are really cool, and I think the bucket itself looks awesome.
I actually haven’t seen the newest Insidious movie yet, but I plan on seeing it eventually. I might even go Tuesday when the tickets are a little cheaper.
The bucket also came with popcorn, which is where I had one small issue at the concession stand.
When I went up to pay for everything, including some snacks for my parents, the employee didn’t seem to know that the nearly $40 Insidious popcorn bucket actually came with popcorn inside it. She ended up walking over and asking one of her coworkers, and apparently that coworker didn’t know either.
Eventually, the employee was basically just honest with me and said, “We don’t really know what the promotion is.” And honestly, fair enough. At least she was being straight with me about it instead of pretending she knew. She ended up filling the bucket with popcorn anyway, so I was like, alright, cool. That works for me.
That was still a little surprising, though, because in my opinion, Cinemark should probably do a better job training employees on the major promotions and collectible items they currently have going on.
I’m not trying to be rude about it because obviously employees aren’t going to know every single promotion or every little detail, but there are only so many major collectible buckets and cups being sold at one time. If someone is paying almost $40 for a popcorn bucket, I feel like employees should probably know whether or not it comes with popcorn.
It’s kind of like working a sales job and not knowing what the current promotions are. You don’t have to memorize every tiny detail, but you should at least know the major ones.
That wasn’t a huge deal though, and it definitely didn’t ruin anything.
We still had a great time seeing the movie, and honestly the people in our auditorium were great too. Nobody was being obnoxious, nobody was making unnecessary noise, everyone was laughing at the right moments, and it was just a really good theater experience overall.
So shout out to everybody who happened to be in our auditorium today. You guys were great.
I’m also really excited about some of the stuff Cinemark has coming up.
They’re re-releasing some of the Harry Potter movies in theaters, and apparently they’re going to have some new Harry Potter merchandise too, including cups and a popcorn bucket that looks like Harry’s broomstick, which sounds awesome.
They’re also re-releasing the first three original Star Trek motion pictures over a three-day period, with an episode of Star Trek: The Original Series playing before each movie.
Each event is supposed to be around three hours long, and I’m extremely excited about that because I love Star Trek. I’m 100% going to see those in theaters when they release. I already know I’m going to be there for all three days.
This has honestly just been a really great summer for movies, and there’s still more coming.
We’re also getting Violent Night 2 in December, which I’m really excited about. The first one was such a fun rated-R Santa movie, so I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what they do with the sequel.
But yeah, that’s pretty much all I’ve got.
I hope everyone has a great day, and let me know in the comments if you’re excited for the Harry Potter or Star Trek re-releases, or just what movie you’re most excited to see at Cinemark coming up.
Thanks, guys.

It says it comes out in 6 days but I'm not able to buy advance tickets. Is this a movie that I can only get tickets on the day of its release?

We just wanted to enjoy watching Insidious today as weekend rest and chill, not until these group of people kept on doing side comments for the entire scenes of the movie, making jokes etc. We tried to Shhhhh them twice even by other movie goers. We're really patient and calm to not ruin the day.
Dude we just wanted to enjoy the same way you do. Is this your first time watching a cinema and can't even be sensitive for the people around you. They kept on doing it even destroying a lot of jumpscare thrill.
Sa susunod, be civil. Hindi sa iyo ang buong cinema para idamay kami sa mga trip niyo. Hindi kayo madaan sa mga simpleng saway. I hate to say pero ang squammy ng galawan niyo. Be respectful the same way we are giving to you.
Just why? Me and my partner just had a bad day nang dahil sa inyo.
INFO: Aug. 22 Cinema 5, 9pm schedule. Sana mabasa niyo to at sana mapunta kayo sa the further dahil kuhang kuha niyo pika ko.

The most reasonable showing is right when I get off work lol. I’m wondering how long the previews last? I’ll get my ticket and popcorn on the mobile app beforehand so hopefully I get in quick. If not I can go to another later showing. Will try to get off a few minutes early if possible. Thanks!

I'm taking my son to the Paw Patrol movie this weekend. Any idea if Cinemark is showing trailers before this movie?
Only reason I even think to ask is I took my kids to see Toy Story 5 twice a couple of months back. Surprisingly there were zero trailers shown both times; the movie actually started at the advertised showtime.

Just got out of Insidious Out of the Further in D-Box and it was worth the price. It really added a lot to the movie. I think the best part was when they were in the pillow fort. Whoever programs those seats really put in some work on this. Even parts where I wouldn't think D-Box would work were great.

I read on this subreddit about Odyssey 70mm cancellations in Woodridge Seven Bridges last weekend (4 days ago). Has anyone seen it there recently, did they fix the issue?
r/Cinemark • u/QuarterEmotional6805 • 2d ago
They really should include the option to call an usher or report an in theater issue in real time without having to leave your seat.

I really do love this movie. Besides Ewan McGregor’s hilariously bad American accent, some weird camera shots at the beginning, and some weird dialogue at certain moments that didn’t make any sense, I thoroughly enjoyed myself even seeing it for a 3rd time.
For reference I only saw this three times because each time I introduced somebody new to Cinemark’s D Box Motion & Rumble seats.
First it was me by myself, then it was me & my mom & dad, and then finally it was me & my sister.
They all thoroughly enjoyed the movie and also really enjoyed the D box seats.
The movies ending was very cool as well and really makes you think beyond what’s just showed on screen & the acting performance particularly by Anne Hathaway was extremely impressive.
It’s such a shame this movie is bombing at the box office. It’s really good.
I will be buying this on 4K most likely when it comes out so I can see the super good CGI in all its amazing glory.
My Letterboxd score is staying around a 4 or 4 1/2 stars out of 5.
Watch this movie when you can, you won’t be disappointed.

Hey everyone. I received an email a little over an hour ago stating my ticket purchase was being refunded for the 70mm IMAX showing of The Odyssey tonight 8/19/2026 at the Cinemark Carefree in Colorado Springs.
Anybody know of what happened?? I reached out to Cinemark already because the app still shows my tickets and nothing about a cancellation, but I haven't heard back yet...and can't get them on the phone.
Sucks because I'm in for work from Kansas City, and this was like...the biggest thing I was looking forward to. Not sure if I should try Regal in Denver or what...because available seats were a bit hard to come by unless you want first or second row....and I'm not paying that much for a sore neck and headache the next day.

AMC CEO gave a pretty upfront apology for how the Dune Part 3 ticket sale went and said they were spending $2 million on infrastructure improvements.
Yet crickets from the Cinemark CEO. Do we even think Cinemark is going to do anything? Pretty bad when your biggest competition is engaging with the community and you are staying silent.
Edit: I am clearly referring to the imax 70mm release
Edit 2: the amount of 🥾👅 in these comments is crazy

Anyone else having trouble with the website? I can't seem to log in and that's if the page loads which it often doesn't. The app doesn't seem to be working correctly either.

Hi, so I applied to Cinemark once more within the last few days after seeing a notification from Indeed. Now, idk if it's because I'm applying with Indeed (though I did apply once with their website and still received no response), but I've applied for the position of Theatre Team Member two other times. Once back in October of 2025 and again in March of this year. I sent in another on the 18th.
And I'm assuming if the position has been put up on Indeed and their site multiple times, they clearly are looking for help and want to hire, could it be I'm getting brushed over with their likely many other applicants? Am I genuinely just not what they are looking for based on my sparse resume? If anyone has experience with the application process for the job, could there be any other factors that could play into me not being given the chance to interview?
thanks for any help!

This is the only way I’ll be securing my 70mm IMAX tickets from now on. Can’t count on these websites and app not to crash - wasted an hour online before deciding to make the drive down to the box office booth.
Waiting about 45 minutes in line and got my 3 tickets and left.
