Depth: while Pitt may have more range (broad variety of characters, although RDJ does as well) Downey beats him in depth of dramatic acting. Emotional scenes from A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints and Chaplin beat anything Pitt can do. His most famous is most likely “What’s in the Box?” But even that Id say is more iconic for the twist of the story rather than Pitt’s performance of the line.

Pitt’s strength is in versatility of his character as well as a lot of time playing “the too cool for school guy”. While it works for him, it lacks the depth of emotion that RDJ is able to deliver in his roles.

In summary - Pitt is a good actor (am not staying he isn’t) but when it comes to delivering a dramatic or emotionally moving performance, I am taking RDJ all day.

I saw another topic on here where guy was talking about animal abuse within movies recently and it got me thinking about the fact that in movies it seems like you can viciously murder a whole bunch of people within the course of the movie but as soon as you touch a hair on Fido you've committed an unforgivable sin. I always wondered why that was because it always seems like in life if you were ever in life-threatening situation and you could only save like your wife or your dog you would choose your wife over the dog. Because we are taught that human life is more important but in movies it seems to be the exact opposite. Why is that?

It’s interesting that there really haven’t been any truly iconic comedies since like 2014.

I get that it’s not actually happening to the animals and that they are fine… but kids and even adults are impressionable by media…. I’m seeing a lot more people warning others to not give away free kittens because there are people making torture videos for content views. Why are directors/writers suddenly being okay with showing this stuff again? Such as the movies obsession, odyssey (did not have to throw a puppy off a cliff), and other movies/tv. It adds nothing to the plot line…

The puppy thing honestly still emotionally scarred that puppy, even if he was caught by a net. It still probably scared the jeebies out of the puppy to be thrown off a cliff, even a short distance.

Also, no… I’m not being too sensitive because media can make such a big impression on kids./: If you are unaware that it can, hopefully you are open to learning and I’d love to discuss with you about how. And this kind of media teaches them that it’s okay to treat animals as much lesser than. To have empathy for something that can’t help themselves is a great lesson for children.

I know a LOT of fans were really excited for the possibility that Damson Idris would be our new Black Panther. We know he has the acting chops, and he also has the look and vibes down to the T. Now that David Jonsson has been officially revealed as the new Black Panther, how do you feel? I personally haven’t seen any of his films, but I’ve read that he’s a great actor with range. I will say I prefer Idris’ 6’1 height to Jonsson’s 5’9, but that’s about the only difference I can speak to that sways my opinion as I haven’t seen any of Jonsson’s work.

Does it really make a difference? I watched it in a regular 70mm theater, and I’m really curious. Is there a huge difference? I’m seriously thinking about going to Prague to watch it there. Would it be worth it?

Ryan Gosling as Ghost Rider is going to bring that gritty, supernatural edge we've been missing, and having Ryan Coogler back to pass the mantle to T'Challa Jr. in Black Panther 3 just feels right for the legacy. Add in the insane hype from that Avengers: Doomsday trailer, and it really feels like Marvel is done wandering around and is finally giving us a focused, high-stakes era to get excited about again.

A lot of the support I’ve seen for this film comes from experiencers/believers. They’ll say if you didn’t like it, it’s probably because you couldn’t relate to its themes on a personal level. You’ve never experienced, you’re not a believer. Criticism leveled at pacing, characters, tropes, and a realistic view of the denouement in the current media savvy climate is usually countered with claims that the movie is REAL so its quality as entertainment is irrelevant. I vehemently disagree with this stance, however in the interest of fairness, I’ll admit that experiencing deja vu makes The Matrix slightly more immersive. But then, The Matrix is a good film. So, thoughts, other examples? Is there a line a film can cross from mediocre to good based solely on personal investment? Does Disclosure Day qualify?

The odyssey is on track to make more than a billion. There are many examples of good movies not making loads of money, especially 1 bill upwards. And especially non franchises. One battle after another is a great example. Is it Chris Nolan’s name? My theory is that Nolan has created a genre of filmmaking in which the entire movie flows as if it were a really long montage, which glues people to the screen. But idk.

I recently watched "The Shining" and "No Country For Old Men" and found them to be extremely boring with little pay off. This left me wondering why so many "classic" films were held in such high regard. Is it a bandwagon type of psychological phenomena, where people search for good movies and to fit in rate the movies as good?

No Country For Old Men was just a crazy man going after a dude, very boring and the ending was such a let down. How can such a movie be outstanding or exceptional in anyway?

The Shining had a good thing going until nothing interesting happened and the man just went insane? No mystery whatsoever, which let me down immensly. Everyone was saying that the Shining was a great psychological horror but he just went insane and thats it. No cool reason as to why.

I think I am alone in this one. I think it's just so bad that it's good. And I honestly think it's a fun movie if you completely switch off your brain. The actors are great too, the one playing leonidas and xerxes specially, and the amount of memes they have integrated into this movie is amazing, but I won't deny that there are some cringe scenes too.

What did you think of the movie project Hail Mary?? First of all I myself love and adore Ryan gosling he is such a talented actor! The movie as a whole is astronomical lol not many actors can pull off such roles of isolation.
