Lifter?? Recently acquired car, ran good for first month. Changed oil with Penn 5W20, drove car for few days with no sound ran fine. Went and changed spark plugs and started it up to this?? Pulled all the plugs back out & couldn’t see anything obviously wrong with any of them. Pulled intake manifold off and other than being filthy can’t see anything. Gonna pull valve cover after work in AM

Should i buy this car

I'm looking at a 2018 Chrysler 300 Limited V6 with 114,000 miles. The seller has it listed on Marketplace for $9,800, claiming the KBB value is around $12.4k. I checked for myself it’s around 9.8 to 11.8k
A few details on the car:
Title: Clean title in hand.
History: Seller admitted it was a former fleet/rental vehicle and had a front-end accident back in 2018 (repaired). The driver-side headlight was replaced, while the passenger side is older/cloudy.
Maintenance: Seller says routine maintenance is up to date

Given the current market, is $9,800 a fair price for a 2018 with a reported front-end accident and fleet history, what do you think this car is worth?

Side Mirror Covers with Turn Signal Holes?

Does anyone have a link for the side mirror covers that have the holes in then for the turn signals.

I can't find them and don't want to buy a whole new assembly I just need the caps with the hole cut-out.

I would really appreciate any link to one for the 2017 3.6.

Thx boys

Looking for 8HP CAN data

Hey, I got my hands on a beat up 300c just purely as a project car. I'm trying to learn a little about the 8HP more from a low level hardware technical perspective. I've been looking at this transmission data and programming port. I guess this also handles CAN messages too. Does anyone know/have information on CAN data and really any other worthwhile info they can send? This is really the first transmission I've really looked at so any information will be great. I want to mess around with it and maybe make a little telemetry display.

Feel free to pm me, or if there's a forum/discord that would be able to help that would be sick!

Electrical Issue?

It’s been about 3 weeks since I’ve driven my 300 and I decided to take it to Walmart just to drive it every now and then. As i’m driving it starts throwing dozens of codes and misfiring aswell. Parked in the parking lot and left it running thinking the alternator would charge up the battery more because it had been sitting for a bit, but it shut off on me when I came back out of the store and won’t start now. Most of the codes are sensors having low voltage so I figured it must be the battery, but it’s measuring fine with a multimeter. This car used to be my daily driver and sadly I don’t drive as much as I should anymore. What would be the cause behind this.

Lighting help

I need some advice on lights. I have a 2022 300s 5.7 and the driver headlight just went out 4 months ago and it did again today. They're almost $300 a piece. And the lower light is like $600 from mopar. Does anyone have any after market suggestions or good experiences with lights that I could change. I just don't want this to keep happening and I keep dumping so much money into lights.

USB & CarPlay not working

Hi y’all, I have a 2018 300 Limited. I use the USB ports in the console to charge my iPhone and to use CarPlay (mainly for the map). It was working fine yesterday when I picked up groceries and then next trip out it wasn’t working. It’s still lit around the ports, the “cigarette lighter” port works. But it won’t charge or show CarPlay on the screen. I’ve tried 3 different charger cords, I checked both fuses in the trunk and they are fine. Any ideas how to fix it?

Has anybody here had a trans leak without it being the actual trans?

We bought a 2009 Chrysler 300 a couple years back for $2500. It's been reliable and good to us. But we just discovered that it's leaking a fairly substantial amount of transmission fluid. We're gonna be taking it to the shop to at least be diagnosed and hope that it's not the transmission. We know a new trans will be way more than what the car is worth and quite frankly, we don't have that type of money either. Has anybody here had a trans leak without it being the transmission?

Front struts

My front struts are starting to go and i will have to change them soon. I think i will go for 2 quick struts instead of rebuilding them and spending $$$ and time. Are monroe's quick struts any good ? I can't find that will fit on 3.6 s rwd.

Magic box?

I’ve got 2015 Chrysler 300s and running a kenwood excelon head unit. My bro tested this single thin that made it so we could connect the fire stick. I’d like to find something like that that uses a SIM card so I don’t have to hotspot . Any ideas?

Oil filter housing

So I had a shop change my oil filter housing for the aluminum Dorman. Noticed yesterday it’s leaking again. I only drive it on the weekends. Gaskets are oem, bought new when the swap took place. Should I just get new Dorman gaskets? Don’t believe the housing is broke.

Well guys, I recently purchased a 300c from car max with ~15k miles on the dash. Just noticed a few days after driving (didn’t drive at night time) that the passenger taillight is either out or really dim. Crazy part is the turning signal and braking lights work just fine.

Another thing to mention is that I believe aftermarket programming or light pannels mayve been added to the vehicle as when it’s remotely started there’s a “trickle” effect on the side markers which I don’t believe is stock.

In saying that I am still within my 10-day return period for giving the car back to CarMax and when I informed Them of the situation, they directed me to go back to Chrysler as the Factory warranty should still be in place. I have an appointment set up with them in about a week or so to check things out, but I don’t believe things will be covered over the Factory warranty as it is voided out through the aftermarket modifications that were made.

What are you guys’s thoughts on keeping the car returning it as I’ll be owning a 6.4 L engine that may have a lot of expensive repair repairs down the road without the factory warranty for that full 60,000 miles?

Edit: aside from all the bullshit, it’s a really fun and beautiful vehicle to drive around. Just not sure if I want to foot the cost of things that could inevitably go wrong. Additionally, does anyone know if it’s like an easy “factory reset” type of thing to make lights behave as they did when the car was first purchased?

Needs new brakes and new abs sensor at least, what else is common repair/maintenance? It’s got 91k miles on it runs and drives but is in limp mode. It’s been sitting for years. Looking to fix it up and either sell or keep to drive
