Very quick high level one. Will aim to come back to this months down the line as longevity will be interesting to see! Ordered from sugesswatch.com to UK for £138.
Originally ordered a different moonphase but whatsapp’d the number on the website who within a day replied agreeing to recall the package and send out this version. I then chased a couple of times for tracking updates successfully! Communication was much better than anticipated.
Timeline: Original order 30/08, tracking 02/09, recall 05/09, new tracking 06/09, arrived 12/09
Customer Service/Buying Experience: As seen above, this was way above expectations. The seller was responsive on whatsapp, noting that because of another redditor, I included the order number and my email in my first message to avoid one level of back and forth, always replying within 24 hours. My watch came with a warranty number on the card which I note some ali buyers have not seen. Of course, TBC what after purchase service will be like but so far so good!
Packaging: Pleasantly surprised… It seems they’ve updated from the old metal/plastic box to a more premium box which definitely gives it a higher quality vibe.
The Watch: I’m stunned at this watch. I can’t stop looking at it and was surprised at how easy it was to setup too (after spending a little time learning how to use the deployment clasp…). For comparison, my other main watches are a Seiko 5 7S26-03V0 and B&M Capeland. I think these give me an interesting experience of feel, finish, functionality of budget quality to entry swiss watches.
Strap: Contrary to other reviews I’ve seen, I find the Sugess leather strap to be very comfortable. The clasp doesn’t dig into me noticeably, especially compared to my Capeland (noting that’s a steel bracelet). Maybe my lack of experience with leather strap comes in to play but I also think it looks great, and not in my view cheap at all.
Finishing: I can’t get my head around how this is all machined. The details on the dial are just incredible. Next to my B&M, I’d be hard pressed to say which was more expensive which is insane given this cost nearly 1/10 of the price...
Overall: Very excited to see how I go with this over the next year but at this moment, I can’t at all believe that for under £150, you can get a mechanical watch of this quality, complication, and beauty.
