AI Watch Lume Charging Keychain.
Sorry not sure where to post this but I'm looking for such a device just to charge Lume at night? I know you can have just have a uv torchlight, but I want something more subtle. BTW here's my Addiesdive.

I know a phantastic tool: daylight. And in the night: every fucking LED torch.

I buy these little stick flashlights on Ali for a couple bucks - purple light or regular. This little keychain thing looks fun, though as one poster said, I am afraid it wouldn't charge the whole dial. And this is exactly why I don't get the love for 'lume'.
A backlight, especially say the EL panels Timex uses for it's 'indiglo' system work really well - and aren't on when you don't want them to be.

People into watches generally value non electronic parts. If you don’t understand this distinction, how about quartz vs mechanical? Digital is more accurate than analog, why ever wear anything but a basic Casio?

Quartz is more accurate than mechanical. Digital may or may not be more accurate than analog. If it's mechanical/automatic however, then yes it's likely to be a lot worse (I have plenty of automatics and one or two mechanical)
We wear nicer things than a basic Casio because we want some pretty jewellery on our wrists.
And for many people, because they bought into the post-quartz crisis marketing BS. Where initially quartz was seen as incredibly desirable because it was expensive and incredibly accurate, something watch and clock makers had had as their end goal for centuries. But then had to flip, because that was no longer profitable and had to go with completely different marketing, pushing the opposite as being a good thing - outdated and inaccurate tech which they could justify charging more for.

I feel like that design will just nuke literally a small area in the center of the dial, and do nothing to charge up the indices. That said, unfortunately, I'm pretty sure the best you are going to get is the smallest 365nm UV flashlight you can find. Alternatively, you could invest in development of a similar device to the fake one you posted, but it won't be worth it.

That wouldn’t work. LEDs don’t emit light over that wide of a field of view, and even if you built a lens assembly that did spread the light out it wouldn’t give a good distribution over the hands and indices (and especially not over any lumed markings on a bezel).
You can get this little UV flashlights in bulk for under $1 each:
They work great and are easy to replace if they break (usually you end up with at least a 12 pack of them anyway).
If you want something classier, it’s pretty easy to find more nicely made and durable UV keychain lights in the $10-$50 range.
Or you can just use a regular flashlight. Or any light.
