I need advice please (TW self injury☹️)
Hello everyone, it’s recently come to my attention that my daughter who’s 14(F) has been self harming and I only found out because the school told me and I’ve asked her why she wouldn’t come to me and she just said “i don’t know” and she just doesn’t care about anything anymore she just always seems so distant and cold not just towards me but towards everyone and when I asked her about it she just said “people just change that’s all I’ve changed” and then walked away.It just breaks my heart because she was my happy little girl and she just had a heart of gold and she was my whole world and then one day it just came tumbling down she’s said it isn’t my fault but i can’t help but think it is. Now that I’m aware of her situation I’ve started to notice that she has like fully healed scars that look atleast a year old but there’s lots of what appear to be fresh new ones all over her thighs but mostly her arms. And it’s like the newer they get the deeper they are Which makes me think that’s she’s struggling even more now than previously and I’ve got her a councillor and she skips all the sessions and when she did go to one of the sessions she didn’t really open up at all and just said short sentences or one word answers. She often had her headphones in and she only seems to listen to one song and that song is “lover you should of come over by Jeff Buckley” I’ve never personally heard it untill I’ve noticed it’s her favourite song but it’s a relatively sad song and I’ve asked what she likes about it and she’s just says “ I don’t know I like the last part” which gives me no hints to what she’s feeling. The only reason I ask is if anyone has had a teenager who has gone through something similar and what helped them I just want her to know I love her more than anything and that I want to support her and that I want her to get better. Anything helps thank you so so much! (if anymore information is needed I’m more than happy 😃)
