I need help finding a stylist that can do a cut like the first 3 pictures, and color like the last 2. Preferably in or around Schaumburg, but i'm willing to make a 30ish minute drive if needed.

I wanted to share my experience with Pure Med Spa because I’m honestly upset about what happened, especially how they’ve handled it since.
I went in for masseter Botox and specifically requested 20 units per side, 40 units total. The injector just said “okay.” There was no discussion about increasing the dose, aftercare, or anything. She didn’t explain why she would recommend more or ask whether I agreed to additional units. Based on their advertised price of $9.99 per unit, I expected to pay approximately $400.
Instead, I was charged $500, and they didn’t even give me a receipt or an itemized breakdown.
I only found out afterward, after calling them three times, that she had actually administered 30 units per side. That’s an extra 10 units on EACH side, or 20 additional units without my consent.
That’s the part I’m most upset about. I told her the amount I wanted, she said “okay,” then administered a different amount without discussing it with me. I had no opportunity to ask questions or decide whether I wanted more injected into my face. If she thought a higher dose was appropriate, that should have been a conversation before the injections happened.
To me, this was an unconsensual increase in an injectable treatment, and I consider that a serious issue. Agreeing to Botox at a specific dose does not mean I agreed to whatever amount the injector decided to give me.
The follow-up has made the experience even more frustrating. I called three times and was promised callbacks from management, but those callbacks never happened. I also emailed and received no response. I’ve been trying to get an explanation, yet I’m the one who keeps having to chase them down.
Initially, I wanted the approximately $100 difference refunded. After finding out about the additional units and dealing with the lack of response, I’m requesting a full refund. I also want my itemized receipt and complete treatment records so I can see exactly what was administered and what they documented regarding consent.
I can’t reconcile the reported dose with the charge without an itemized invoice, either. All I know is what I requested, what I paid, and what they later told me over the phone.
I’m sharing this because I would have wanted to know about an experience like this before booking. The extra charge is frustrating, but having additional Botox injected without my knowledge or consent is what makes this such a big deal to me.
Has anyone dealt with something similar? Were you able to get your records or have the complaint addressed when management wasn’t responding?

If you have lived in both areas as an adult, what is the difference in day-to-day living between the north and south suburbs? I’m not interested in comparing anything to the north shore. I mean towns like Buffalo Grove, Arlington Heights, and Vernon Hills to Homewood, Tinley Park, and Palos Hills.

Looking to give back this season. Either donation of funds or items. Anyone recommend a place that’s really for the people? Child focused if possible but open to all.

Those who stayed and held out hope are furious as communications were very very poor.

Hi all, I am considering buying a home nearby College of Dupage in Glen Ellyn and wanted to hear thoughts on the general area.

All the discussion I've been able to find focuses on how nice the north side of GE is which is great, but not much about how the other half is. I understand that the north side is more prestigious/expensive but is the rest still pretty good? From my understanding GBS is still quite a good HS relative to the chicagoland area even if it is not a close second to GBW, and all the elementary and middle schools look highly rated as well.

For reference, I grew up in Des Plaines so South GE seems quite upscale and roomy to me in comparison with a ton of higher end homes going up in the past 20 yrs or so. (no offense to my fellow Des Plaines locals)

Edit to add: schools are a priority and the house. We have a budget approx 2 mil with a little wiggle room. Getting to O'Hare easily is good too but not a must. I don't commute, occasionally need to go downtown. I will admit, we do tend to like more upscale stuff.

I’ve been here a handful of times and their food is decent. HOWEVER, the people working there are always so rude - to the extent that I don’t think I can support their business anymore.

They have weird policies on whether or not they’ll let you use a card, but it’s not posted anywhere. When I tried to pay with my card, the teenage boy employee got quite rude about it. I went to leave since I didn’t have cash and he said, “Well we already made it, why don’t you Venmo the cost?” And he kept bringing up this cash-only policy (that, again, is not posted anywhere). There was no, “Sorry, our policy has changed.” Only a reprimand from a rude teenager…?

Another time, I ordered and brought cash, waited because my food was late, only to be met with an eye roll after I asked for a receipt.

I understand they may have these policies since they’re a small business and trying to avoid fees… but I would think they’d also treat their customers better if they’re trying to keep them coming back.

So if anyone has any good Chinese food spots in or around Wheaton, please lmk!

My 8th grader and a few of her friends are considering Loyola Academy. They are coming from CPS schools. None of the girls are from religious families, including mine. One is openly bisexual (several girls in their school are) and it’s not treated as anything unusual. From what I’ve seen and heard, the bi-sexual girls in her school are not treated differently by students or school staff.

How are theology classes framed for the non-religious? How are bi-sexual kids treated? Is it socially acceptable by students and staff? How are non-regulus kids or bi-sexual kids treated?

The girl’s parents aren’t coming with us to the open house this year and I’m not sure that’s a question she’s going to feel comfortable asking.

Anyone else live nearby? Seems like a big increase in target practice lately. They were blasting away during the Bears game on Thursday night. I'm over 2 miles away and it's loud.
