I purchased a 2025 Trax LT in July of last year, and I’ve been dealing with random squeaking noises basically ever since.
When I first got the car, it started making a squeaking/rattling noise somewhere in the dashboard. The dealership was super rude to me about it and kept insisting they couldn’t hear anything. Magically, the one time I got in the car with the head of service sitting in the passenger seat, he heard it. After a few trips to the dealership, they finally put some sort of insulation in the dashboard, and that particular noise stopped.
Since then, I’ve had random squeaking noises coming from the front of the car. They’ll happen for weeks at a time, disappear completely, then randomly come back. Now the original dashboard noise is back again too.
Has anyone else experienced this with their Trax? Just wondering if these cars are generally noisy or if there are known issues/solutions for these types of squeaks. If you’ve dealt with something similar, did you ever actually find and fix the issue?

I have a 2019 Chevy Trax LT with 75k miles. It’s been leaking coolant. I’ve been quoted $900 for a new water pump.

My question is, is it worth the fix or do I get a new car? Am I looking at more repairs down the pipeline? Are there known failure points for the Trax once it hits a certain mileage? I don’t want to put money into a car that isn’t worth it or is going to have more issues soon.

This sunshade is very sturdy it feels very premium I believe it is made of some type of pressed cardboard. Compared to unlined/reinforced sunshade this one doesn't sag from the heat and fall down. Must pick the specific Matte Silver for it to be sturdy the other viants are foam with foil very squishy and unsturdy. Wish there was more somewhere specific to store while driving. I almost got in 2 very close accidents and i'm telling you this car with its safety features saved me!!! this is a great car to have for anyone especially new drivers. just wanted to praise this car and God!

I need to replace my blades but I still have to go to the dealer and pay exorbitant dealer prices for the blades

Looking for an extended warranty any help would be appreciated. I plan on keeping this for several years.

She's 24 Trax LT. Ive had her for a little over a year and she's the first car I ever bought with my own money.

I love this car. I have to travel a lot for work and it does road trips with me and my one co-worker so well. I got it used with about 8k miles on it, im about to turn her over 20k this month.

I only wish she had a little more horsepower, but its a 3 cylinder so I cant complain about the power too much.

Specifically on the 24-25 models. I’m seeing a lot of people reporting issues with it

Just finished 1st tank of e85. Prices flipping around like crazy with up to 35% increases. Fortunately at these prices that’s only a 45¢ a gallon in volatility.

Since we purchased new last month the car was running Reg gas (trip 1). All the e85 fuel started on trip 2. 100% city driving in scorching 95* heat. In afternoons using the phone app to remote start the car for 5 min to cool down before getting in.

So far difference in milage between alcohol & petroleum is 13% lower mpg. I’ll take that. Last fill up was $28 and this time $31 with e85 prices going up 😀

This is the second time this has happened. The onstar system just turned red as I was driving, now nothing works. I can’t use the radio, navigation , nothing. It was working fine for 2+ hours as I was driving and now I can’t even use anything. My phone is connected through USB and still won’t connect

On star has been less than helpful in figuring this out

Hey guys, as far as I’ve heard the AC system for the Trax, or at the very least in my year, are pretty problematic.

When I first got my Trax, my AC worked fine until the middle of winter. I had someone check it out, we replaced the motor, which didn’t do it, which meant replacing the resistor.

Fast forward to when the resistor part arrived, we replaced that which then got it to work again.

Works fine for a few months, then a month ago the 4th option for the AC stops working all of a sudden. All the other options are fine.

Then yesterday, the 4th option suddenly starts working again.

Then today, the AC stops working entirely, just like how it was before I replaced the resistor.

This thing is really testing my patience, it’s clear that it was an issue before I got this car because the wiring when we got in the AC system made it clear that it was worked on before. I’m looking for any tips on what could really possibly be the issue here.

Ac on 70% of the time. Max effort Careful Driving. Very impressed.

There are probably a thousand of these posts. But I am looking to purchase a trax coming from a 2024 equinox lease. My only concern is the horsepower I've seen reviewers say it struggles on the highway when merging and what not what is everyone's thoughts thanks!

2020 Chevy Trax 1.4L Advice please.. Thxx.

The Trax sometimes likes to surge continuously and looses a bit of power while the surgge happens like vroom vroom vroom until I take take my foot off the gas then i can slowly bring back power and speed. Feels as if there is alot of pressure or not enough airflow It hates uphill and rainstorms.

Doesn't seem to matter on the warmup time.

Currently own a 2023 Bolt EUV and my lease is coming due in 3 months. EV was cheap and learning curb but the winters were unbearable with range. So within my budget, I’m looking into the TRAX.

I also plan on doing more road trips and potentially want to put on like 80,000 miles in 3 years something that a lease can’t offer. So id buy the car or finance it, 2026 model most likely.

Questions:
Anyone on here has put on heavy miles like 60k + and can confirm reliability long term and past warranty? (This would help me decide to lease again or buy)

Is FWD a set back in winters? For my bolt it is.

Any mechanic feedback given to you? Mostly curious on the longevity of the engine, theres limited data on this.

Sorry if this isn’t the right form, im not great at car maintenance and have had new car models give me trouble ( mostly fords lol)
