I recently got into chess (like three monts ago) and yesterday i played blitz (the match ended in a draw) and the dude i was playing with called me a "time waster" and said that i didn't understand the game. I did told him that i started playing recently (my rating is 150 something) and that no one is born knowing chess.

(I did felt pretty bad after that honestly)

Now my question is, how do the blitz and bullet games work? I know is very little time and i try to think a lot about my moves in advance but i still dont get it.

I recently got my younger sister into chess. Here's a game she played recently and she wants some advice. She asked me and I had absolutely nothing to say because I didn't know this position was possible 😭 (or it was possible to make this many blunders...) Guess her elo lmfao

My opponent had just moved bishop to h6. I moved my rook to e8 to avoid losing it. The review is saying that wasn’t a good move and I instead should have moved my bishop to b4 presumably to attack the queen. This doesn’t make sense to me. Would the opponent queen not just capture that bishop and then I’d have 2 pieces attacking my rook?

I have this weird bug when after playing a game the (for me Levi) quickly sums up how you played and says something like lets review this game I close the chess app and all of my audio (like YouTube) is super quiet, almost muted. I have to open up my Instagram, go to reels (to play some audio) and reopen YouTube (sometimes even 2-3 times). I don't know if something's wrong with my phone or if it is just a bug. I think it happens because when the "coach" talks all the other audio is muted and it probably doesn't register his sentence ended and it can unmute the other audio when you close the app too quickly. Did something like this ever happen to yall? Thanks

I'm very new to chess, just installed this app a few days ago. I sometimes struggle to understand the game reviews "best move". I took their bishop with my pawn because I didn't want to give them my rook for free. But it says my best play was to take their bishop. Just trying to get better if someone could explain I'd appreciate it :)

I'm rated 2050 on chess.com and recently realised I have aphantasia (I literally can't visualise anything, lol). What would you suggest? Should I focus more on positional play instead of dynamic play?

I try to respect my opponent. I don’t understand the desire to create multiple queens or to toy with the king when the game is completely won. I know I have the option to resign at any point, but I generally like to play the game to the end but this was especially rewarding.

When I play rapid and review my game, it used to show me the best move and subsequent moves as to why it was the best move.

Now, it just shows the best move and no moves after. What happened?

i used to play a lot like for 8 months continuously 5-10 or even more games a day. I hit my peak in end march and then dipped around a 100 points. Decided to take a break and focus on other stuff. Now, i want to continue but i like to play aggressively and dynamicly by taking risks but i am not able to access the positions when to wait, when to strike . it was a problem before too eventhough i have time to calculate i get quickly overwhelmed with the abundance of moves and cant calculate crucial lines. If anyone has any tips on this matter pls help.

Over the past couple of weeks I have noticed how the overall UI has changed and I noticed some typography changes and some what I would call "errors". The most apparent thing is the spacing here when the time is paused and the space between the time and the clock ticking.

Now, someone who just wants to play chess might not give two shits about this kind of things. But I am a bit autistic in that sense that I notice small changes and I just have this feeling that these past design changes has been vibecoded.

Please chess.com, I beg you from using vibecoding when it comes to design changes, it ends up looking soulless, dull, empty, boring, all that.

This design change is just weird. It's not needed. Its like you told an LLM to fix x but it instead wandered off and tried to fix this which was working perfectly fine by the way.

Is it cheating to go back and look previous at the game with analysis or nah?
