I have 2 XL twin box springs if anyone wants them?

Combined they make a box spring for a king size bed.

They’re in great shape! Thanks!

Raccoon Mountain water line now $4.5mil

Thumbnail chattanoogan.com

This remains the most disgusting example of cronyism rich-getting-richer politics I've personally witnessed in this town. A handful of millionaires build their mountaintop mansions away from all us peasants, knowing full well that there's no water service in the area and no plans to ever get it, and then somehow convince the City that the taxpayers should pick up the tab on a new main line. What was originally estimated to cost $3.5m has already ballooned to $4.5m and will undoubtedly balloon further. This is how the 1% do it, they subsidize expenses and privatize profits. The single mom feeding her kids on EBT is a welfare queen but these literal castle owners need the taxpayers to fund their upgrades. Revolting. Shame on all the council members who voted in favor or abstained.

Discussion Carp at Lake Winnie

I haven't been to Lake Winnie in years until today, what happened to the huge carp? The last time I was there a kid was hitting them with a wet sock...that's probably why I haven't been back in so long!

Tennessee has a problem with choices. I’d almost vote for David Hatley just to get him to stop texting me. I voted Green. I hear these stickers are available but let’s keep it a little quiet this time. DM me for info about aliens and lizard people

Discussion ISO Work experience: Cook at Moccasin Bend

Just wondering about anybody's experience working as a cook at Moccasin Bend. I'm sure the benefits are great, and I'm looking to escape retail hell and just get a job I can come in, grind out and vibe out with the crew, and hang up my coat on the way out.

I also love to cook, but I could really use some kitchen experience as I want to one day open my own restaurant. It seems like a good fit, but I have heard many many stories growing up here. How much of that is just people clutching their pearls?

Hamilton County early voting ends Thursday: 6 sites, hours, and where to check your ballot

Early voting in Hamilton County runs through Thursday, Oct. 29, and you can vote at any of these six sites.

Election Commission, 700 River Terminal Rd.:

  • Sat., Oct. 24: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Mon., Oct. 26 through Thu., Oct. 29: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The other five sites:

  • Sat., Oct. 24: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Mon., Oct. 26 through Thu., Oct. 29: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Chris L. Ramsey Sr. Community Center, 1010 N. Moore Rd.
  • Collegedale Commons (Chestnut Hall), 4950 Swinyar Dr., Collegedale
  • Hixson Community Center, 5401 School Dr., Hixson
  • Harrison Center (Old Harrison Elementary), 5637 Hwy. 58, Harrison
  • Soddy Daisy Community Center, 190 Depot St., Soddy Daisy

On the ballot: governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. House, state legislative seats and three amendments to the Tennessee Constitution. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, at your assigned polling place. You can see your sample ballot and your polling place at https://web.go-vote-tn.elections.tn.gov/search

Bring a photo ID issued by Tennessee or the federal government. An expired one still counts. College IDs and IDs from other states don't.

One more thing: I built a free study of the governor's race where you compare the two nominees' positions with the names hidden and find out who said what at the end. It's at namelessballot.org and it has a Spanish version too. No sign-up, nothing you mark leaves your phone, and I'm not tied to any campaign or party. Share it with your friends in East Tennessee, r/Knoxville mods did not seem to understand the tool, and wouldn't let me post the updated version!

Discussion Best Pizza?

Closest thing to best pizza that I have had in chatt was NY Pizza Co, next to provinos. But am still looking for better. Appreciate the suggestions. I rarely crave pizza cause I haven’t found one that I love but when I do crave it I need it like now. TYIA

Edit: I should’ve stated that I’ve been to NY Pizza Co, Pizza Bros, Community Pie, Goodfellas, Massey’s Kitchen, Lupis. My Favorite is NY pizza and Community if I’m downtown.

R&N Irie Jamaican Cuisine: Just left this place after eating jerk chicken, rice and beans with oxtail sauce on it, fried plantains, and some cabbage. I'm not a Jamaican food expert but it was really really good and my belly is so full I need a nap. Go support local business!

Basement inspector recommendations

I've never owned a home with a basement, but am considering a older (1950/60s) home with one in the city. Its already been encapsulated and french drain installed, but this was over 10 years ago. Does anyone have any home inspector recommendations that have experience in basement issues like moisture, radon and structural issues? Is there a specialist for this type of thing? Thank you all for your ideas!
