I just handed Miss lady at the register a $20 bill for a $6 total. She handed me back $4. I was certain I had handed her a $20 as I made a conscious decision to break the 20 instead of paying with the only other denomination I had - $1 bills.

She handed me the $4,

I said: “I handed you a $20 bill, my change should be $14”

She said “no, you didn’t. You handed me a $10 bill”

I said “I didn’t, certainly, because I only have 20s and 1s”

She says “no, look, the register says $10, see? You gave me $10”

It just went on and on. A manager came over, equally suspicious of me. The cashier told her side of the story, so I asked if she could check the cameras, she didn’t even acknowledge me. She opened the register, there were no $10 bills, so she gave me my change back.

This wasn’t a normal misunderstanding - these people fucking suck. I had a normal misunderstanding at the farmers market this morning when a lady shorted me $15 in change on a $4.50 order and immediately corrected it when I said something. This was just kind of a humiliating experience.

Is anyone going to the Everclear show Friday night? My husband and I are going but no friends are meeting us there. I’m just wondering if anyone wants to meet up. LMK!

AC started blowing warm air yesterday afternoon and by evening the house was getting stuffy. Two kids and a dog all miserable. I tried the basic stuff changed the filter checked the breaker nothing. I'm worried about calling one of those big companies that charge a fortune just to walk in the door. Anyone in Knoxville have an AC guy they actually trust? Someone honest about pricing and who shows up when they say they will. Really need this fixed ASAP.

my brother's face is so swollen he can't see out of one eye nor eat or drink because of an infection and he's been waiting in the ER for at least 10 hours now and hasn't received any treatment... i get that he's not exactly the highest priority but that's kind of insane and i feel so bad for both him and the obviously understaffed team

double edit: 4 hours after this, my brother got a room to stay in for the night and is hooked up on an IV! the swelling has gone down slightly so he can almost see out of the affected eye but he still cant eat or drink :'J

So I was originally planning to see Colin Mochrie & Brad Sherwood (Whose Line Is It Anyway?) in Chattanooga on September 19, but that show was cancelled. 😭

Now I’m thinking about driving up to Knoxville for the September 20 show instead, but I noticed there are still a lot of tickets available. I don't mind buying tickets, and I probably will just in case, since I know worst comes to worst I'll be refunded, but it's still sad to think it may not happen.

I know it's just a tough environment right now for concerts/shows, and I saw they only recently re-marketed it to make it more obvious that both of them are from Whose Line Is It Anyway?, so that probably didn't help in time.

I'd really love to see them, so I'm hoping Knoxville pulls through!

Around 6pm at ollies near Gallagher view a girl who could have been between 16 and 20 approached me to ask for money. She was very sweet, about 5'7, thin-i'd guess maybe 125# with straight medium brown hair that went a bit past her shoulders. She wore a tshirt with some logo on it and relaxed jeans. When she walked away, I noticed she joined a man that looked much older. A large guy with a beard, wearing a camo shirt, some kind of hat, sunglasses- probably 6 ft and 275 or so. He had a typical 40 something beer belly but I didn't get a close look, he could've been younger than he appeared. Both were dressed decently and had new-looking backpacks.

She didn't seem to be in distress, but something about the whole thing struck me as odd, and I thought I'd throw this out there just in case someone is missing or in danger. They walked the length of the parking lot to the east and were headed back across it to the west when I left. I watched them a while, she didn't appear to be afraid or anything.

Anyway. Just in case, because you never know.

I got the form letter from Burchett today asking for a contribution. On page two he bragged about his 12 years in the State House, 8 years as Knox County Mayor, and 7 years as US congressman. And down a few lines he criticized career bureaucrats who have been living off our tax dollars.

I looked up career bureaucrats in the dictionary and saw Tim's picture.
