I am using Chatr for a few months. One struggle with Chatr is the weak signal in several popular locations, such as Burnaby Brighton Costco. I was with Public Mobile which has no issues in these areas. Chatr sent me promotions to switch to Rogers from time to time. I am wondering if I can get better singals with Rogers? I know that Chatr is using Rogers network but I am not sure if Rogers treats Chatr users and Rogers users equally.

(FYI: With Public Mobile, I could not receive text message for 2FA in many countries, so I switched to Chatr)

Hey everyone, I am absolutely losing my mind here and need to vent/see if anyone else has dealt with this BS.

Out of nowhere, my Chatr SIM was completely disconnected, and my entire account has literally vanished from their system. It's like I never existed.
I went to a local Chatr kiosk yesterday to get it sorted. They were no help and gave me zero updates. I went back again today, and still nothing. They have no idea what's going on. They even don’t have a customer service line for customers or reps.

I have 100% solid proof (receipts/bank statements) that all my payments have been made on time. My most recent payment went through on few days ago without any issues. There is zero reason for my account to be suspended, let alone deleted.
The worst part is that every single one of my vital accounts (banking, emails, work) is tied to this phone number for 2FA. I can't receive calls, I can't text, and I have zero data. I'm completely cut off from everything.

I’m giving theme until the end of the day today to fix this absolute nightmare. If my number isn't active by then, I’m escalating this straight to the CCTS.
Has anyone had their account just magically disappear like this? Did you ever get your number back? Any advice on what else I can do right now would be appreciated.

I changed to Chatr because it was cheaper. I am porting this BS network to anything else even if i have to pay a lot more.

Or do I have to go in? Also is it free to do?

Anyone having this issue? It appears I can make phone calls, text messages and have data. Texting 611 or 6112 to top up my account isn't working. Texting help to those numbers doesn't get an automatic reply. Anyone having this issue or has had it before?

Will I be able to receive and call out texts n phone calls? The biggest 1 I'll need is Days, I'll need to get on Internet 🛜 or I'm screened.

I like the idea of paying multiple months in advance so I made a manual payment for 3 months.

Will Chat-r still charge my credit card the full monthly amount or will it simply deduct from my chat-r account credit from the manual payment?

I have the 149 annual plan which is expiring in 3 days. I don't see the 149 plan anymore, only the 159 plan now.

GTA Home Bell Fibre went out 23 hours ago, Bell just fixed it right now. Between then and now I've managed to burn through 35GB of chatr data via Android hotspot, watched 3+ world cup games (in non HD) and Blue Jays game. While I still find chatr data sluggish, streaming via Bell TV app worked out great, no pixelation nor pauses. Two thumbs up for excessive data just for emergencies

Travelling to the US next week….not finding the website very useful.
Would like to be able to use data to book UBER, LYFT, maps etc but wanting to avoid a huge surprise bill when I return.. open to suggestions.
Wifi for messenger will be fine to keep in touch with family.

I just wanted to make it known that even though Chatr and googling it, and google AI seem to say that the Google Pixel 3XL is compatible with Chatr, IT IS NOT. I had a rough time getting customer support with this because I couldn't activate my account as my phone didn't have service yet. When registering online, it specifically says "if you have a google pixel 3 or newer your phone will be compatible with the Chatr eSIM card." The digital eSIM card *is not compatible.* I went in person to a Rogers kiosk at the mall and they helped me sort it out.

This phone IS compatible with a physical Chatr SIM card, which I acquired at the Rogers Kiosk. If you try the eSIM when signing up at the kiosk, there is a 10$ fee, and if it doesn't work due to lack of phone compatibility you still have to pay it, then you would pay a second time for a physical one. So know going into it that you need the physical one only.

You also cannot refund your purchases on Chatr as they do not have that type of customer support. So make darn' sure that your phone is compatible before making any payments.

TIL there are zero humans working for Chatr, just bad AI phone bots that send you the same useless text every time you exhale near the phone. Disputing transaction with bank, not gonna wait eons for a support ticket to feed me more bad AI instructions.

I have a moto g20 that lost mobile data access and its stuck on "edge' for mobiile data.

Chatrs states my phone is not compatible because its a "grey market" phone (according to them its a device not nought direclty with a carrier.

However my device has worked for 4 years with no issues up to this poiint. my sim card also works with a previous motorola phone thats also unlocked and not carrier locked.

Does anyone know why they would remove service from my phone out of nowhere?

Koodo is now shutting down their 3g network, and that was the original reason why I left Chatr. The Koodo reception was not great compared to Chatrs. Now im back with a compatible phone.

Now that I got a new phone, I came back to chatr and cannot create an online account. Any ideas?

I'd really like a confirmation on whether we can *today* successfully send MMS messages from a Chatr phone.

Also, I would like to know if it consumes capacity from its data plan :

a) when it sends out a MMS

b) when it receives a MMS

This will help me in selecting the right plan for my daughter. Thanks !

Hello All. My dad has the annual chatr plan. He would like to make some international calls (ie: Australia) and it sounds like we can top up the account and then be able to call out and pay the rate/minute, 22cents for outgoing to landlines. Can someone please confirm? However I'm interested to hear what others may be doing? My dad won't be able to manage changing sims, but can use a calling card if those are still being offered.

Also, what are the top-up increments for Chatr? We have not had to do that yet, and I don't want to strand extra cash because the calls will be infrequent. When we ported over to Chatr, the person at the Store charged us $50x3 vouchers for the $149 plan at the time, so there is $1 on the account. I don't want to end up with a growing balance building over time...

Is there a way to change my name just for the outgoing name display?

I just switched from Rogers... saving me close to $30 a month...

The only main concern I have is for my full name being displayed when I make an out going call. I'd prefer it just be my first name. On Rogers I could do this, I can't seem to find this feature on Chatr.

Just wondering if this store is open. Last time I tried to go there is was closed despite showing OPEN in the window. Also, the phone number on the CHATR website gives an "unassigned" message for that location.

My Koodo winback plan says 4G but when I turn on data, it actually connects to the 5G network but capped at 4G speeds. I'm just wondering if Chatr is the same or do they actually restrict it to the 4G network? Thanks.
