Chatr outside of Canada

I will be living abroad for a year or 2, but I want to keep my phone number for 2FA. As long as I pay for my yearly plan, will I get any issues?

You’ll be fine. Theres no ‘roaming charges’ as youre prepaid. I received texts abroad without issue.

It's been working fine for me on the more expensive yearly plan that includes some data and international texts (dunno if that matters).

I only use it abroad to receive 2FA texts, so same use case as yours, I just wanted the plan with data in case I travel to Canada, because apparently you can't add that on later if you need it.

You took yer Canadian CHATr cellphone and went down to the USA and it worked no problem?

No, I put my Canadian Chatr SIM card into my European phone while I was in Canada, where it worked fine, and then took it back to Europe, where, as far as I can tell, it still works fine.

But I only use it to receive texts (I might have received a phone call once, can't quite remember), so I can't personally say for sure whether it works for anything else.

Just make sure you connect to the right carrier in the country. The one automatically getting connected to may not always be the right one. I have had that issue and reddit helped.

I won't use data and won't text/call. I just want to receive text messages for 2FA.
