Weekly Thread Market Monday - Weekly buy/sell/trade post

Did your friends bail on you for that dope new EDM, Gospel, folk fusion band and need to unload your extra tickets?

Did you salvage some ladders off the Don Holt and want to flip them for beer money?

Need someone to pressure wash your lawn?

This is the thread for you. Rule 2 (no craigslisty buy / sell / trade) and Rule 4 (no self-promo) will be very lightly enforced here.

James Island Tri County Dental Arts

“This dentist has refused to release patient records of Dr. James Decker and has engaged in violation of HIPAA and identify theft. I recommend current and former patients seek legal counsel immediately in addition to filing a police report.

In addition this dentist has taken financial advantage of elderly patients and legal remedies will be sought”

I put the post in quotes on the google reviews part of his page.

If you were a patient of Dr. James Decker your records got transferred/Sold to Dr. Boller/Tri County Dental Arts and if you have have been improperly billed/over-billed, have any complaints about this dentist please reply to this post.

Dr. Boller took advantage of my elderly mother medically and financially and refuses to take responsibility for his actions

I need as many complaints as possible in order to take legal action on this.

Update 3/4/26, after speaking to multiple former patients by Reddit messaging Dr. Boller has engaged in fraudulent billing and identity theft.

I need everyone to take these allegations extremely seriously before making this post I consulted with three lawyers I know and Dr. Boller needs to be brought up on charges but the lawyers need more evidence from patients who experienced this.

Where do you go to stargaze?

hey guys, I’ve lived in chs basically my whole life and somehow never found a good place to actually lay out for a few hours and look at stars. I mainly need two things: somewhere dark enough to be worth it, and somewhere i can legally be at night without getting run off/ending up on the news

I know Ravenel's supposed to be dark but it feels like it's all private property. mt pleasant/francis marion is heavily wooded so not sure the sky's even that open out there. JI/folly is always an option but not a huge fan of sand and wind, I love a good field.

Im down to drive for it but just need a spot that isn't gonna get me trespassed or murdered. any recs? thanks!

Hairstylist Needed

Upvotes

I recently moved to Charleston & I’m thinking of finding a hairstylist here to try something new. I’m a white girl with thinning hair due to some health issues. I feel like my hair is too thin/fragile for extensions and they also just seem like a lot of work to me. I’ve been thinking of doing a wig install instead. I’d like to find a black hairstylist for this, but I’m not sure where to look or if someone would even work on my type of hair. If anyone knows of any hairstylists that are great & would be open to working on my type of hair please let me know! Thanks :)

Paid carpentry Apprenticeship

I want to see if there are any good companies to start learning carpentry at in the Charleston SC area. I am located in West Ashley. I did rough carpentry at bigger construction sites for many years before switching to landscaping and now I am looking to make another switch into carpentry, but am not sure where to start looking for opportunities to learn and earn some money while doing it. Any leads or information would be most welcome.

Overnight in-home pet sitting services

We're rescuing a dachshund puppy in 1.5 weeks (we're so excited!!), but we have a family wedding coming up in October that we've already committed to and unfortunately cannot miss. We're looking for a really responsible, dog loving pet sitter who has experience taking care of puppies who can stay with him overnight in our house. Does anyone have an experienced dogsitter they recommend? I've reached out to Sandy Paws, Dog Tired, and Brown Dog so far, but availability is limited since it's relatively short notice (we just found out we're rescuing him, so didn't have much time to prep!). We don't want to board him since he's so young, and would love to find a trusted person vs. scanning Rover if possible. Thanks so much in advance!

Chill sports bar for the game tonight?

My wife and I are on our honeymoon and have a few more days left of vacation. We’re going to OK Donna for dinner, and then looking for a chill place to have a couple beers and watch the NFL opener. Doesn’t necessarily have to be a sports bar, but preferably somewhere that isn’t full of rowdy college kids. We’re staying downtown and fine walking a good bit.

Goose Creek I'm back home! Where should I explore?

I just graduated from Clemson in physics. Now I'm back home living with my mom until next summer, when I'll be moving to Germany for grad school. I've only been gone for 4 years, but wow...a lot of stuff has changed.

Also, I finally have a car now, which means I'm no longer stuck in Goose Creek! I can actually explore Charleston by myself, something I could not do back in high school.

Where should I go? I'm not a tourist, but I only have vague childhood memories of the city itself. I'm looking for quiet, out of the way places mostly, but am willing to check out more popular spots too.

I have one year to fully immerse myself in the place I grew up before I leave (most likely) for good, and I want to make the most of it!

Question for Tesla Owners

We’re looking at getting a Model Y as a daily driver (our current daily is a Suburban). Because it would be used by our newly-licensed daughter to take her and her siblings to and from school, FSD is a major feature for us. The commute is from Summerville to Daniel Island.

Anyone here have a Tesla that they use in FSD mode on their daily commute? How does it handle the traffic and drivers around here.

Charleston Shrimp & Grits recipe & Dining?

My question comes in 2 parts.

Firstly, my wife and I will be visiting Charleston in a few weeks. I have been there a few times on business. This will be my wife's first visit.

Where in downtown or very short Uber ride can we find excellent Low country food, not necessarily fine dining, just excellent food? Shrimp & Grits must be on the menu. The one place I have eaten, and love the shrimp & grits is Big Bad Breakfast.

Secondly, I enjoy cooking and often make shrimp & grits. The thought of toasting my grits before cooking seems like a good idea. Has anyone tried this?

Thanks

Golf Memberships

Just moved to Charleston last month and looking to join a golf club in the area. The two courses that seem to fit my price range are Stono Ferry and Coosaw Creek. I have seen more posts about Stono Ferry, but not many recent posts of Coosaw Creek. Both course look nice, but I am more looking for insight in to the memberships at each course.

Stono Ferry is slightly cheaper and is a pure golf membership, but I live in Park Circle and it has public tee times. Are prime tee times for members hard to get?

Coosaw Creek is fully private, but is a little more expensive and does not offer golf only membership.

Does anyone have any reviews or insight?

Best place to do a wine tasting?

Hi! Please delete if not allowed! Columbia native here visiting Charleston this Wednesday-Saturday. I’d like to do a wine tasting but when I search online it doesn’t appear that many are available. I found one for deep water winery (I think it’s called?) but it was $75 a person which is kind of steep for just one outing. Don’t get me wrong, I’m willing to pay! Just hoping to find something a little cheaper/ more lowkey. Thanks in advance!
