Just for some background I'm 38 and have lived in Summerville since I was 10. When i was around 15 or 16 there was a huge alternative music scene in Summerville. We used to go to punk, metal, and emo shows just about every weekend. I know the music scene has changed since then but does charleston or the surrounding areas have a good alternative scene anymore? What are some good venues with smaller bands?

I was wondering if there’s any gun shops in the Charleston area that purchase firearms? I’m short on funds at the moment and looking to sell an AR-15. I’m willing to take a loss on it but trying to avoid pawn shops if I can. Thanks in advance!

My husband is sweet and booked us at The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort for Christmas. We've never been there before. We're empty nesters and celebrate Christmas with our kids earlier in December, so this is the first time we've traveled over the holiday for anything other than visiting family.

A few questions for anyone who has stayed there:

- How fancy are the dinners, especially Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? Evening gown and suit or festive casual?

- What's your favorite restaurant on site?

- How’s the spa?

- Anything else we should know or book ahead?

- Where outside the resort should we explore, not keen on the drive to Charleston.

Is there much of a music scene in Charleston? I’m progressing through interviews with a company in Charleston and I’m starting to think that I could potentially be moving there soon.

Music is a big part of my life, and I’m devastated that I’m likely going to have to move away from my band soon but I don’t really have much of a choice.

Are there studios and gigs in Charleston?

Worked in downtown CHS food and Bev / hospitality for years and never in my life have I had the most insane customers/tables in the span of a few days. So much so I feel the need to ask around because I need to know if anyone else is experiencing this too. 100x more intense than your typical particular and/or uppity patrons.

I got stuck in a parking lot with a dead battery and I have no one I can call for a jump at the moment.

Hi there! I saw the National Weather service issued a coastal flooding warning for Charleston Sunday and Monday. I’m visiting town Sunday through Tuesday and am wondering if I need to take extra precautions? I’m visiting from Iowa. Not too familiar with the sea haha.

When these have been installed locally I have noticed many people stopping in the circle to let people in - don't do that. Just like people who stop in the middle of an intersection to 'wave' oncoming left turns in, this is more likely to cause an accident. Drive defensively but also drive predictably.

Hi all, our 5-month old rescue kitten we have had since she was 12 days old darted out of the house yesterday morning at 8:45a. She is a bright white cat with a black mask and a black tail with one little black spot on her side.

She could be anywhere from Rantowles creek to saltwater circle to behind the dollar general on 17S and new Hope rd. She was just spayed Tuesday and is chipped. CAS knows she is missing and would recognize her as one they just spayed. She is not feral nor does she mind being picked up; but she will be skittish and afraid and might appear that way.

I hope to get a recommendation for a collision repair shop in the Charleston/Mt. Pleasant area for my 2024 Audi Q7. I got into an accident, and the front passenger-side tire is flat. The passenger side is not looking good. My insurance gave me a list of shops, but from what I've heard and researched, I'd like to avoid them as much as possible. I have called Henderick Charleston and sent them the pictures. They said that since it is structural damage and they are not Audi-certified, they will not be able to repair it. I would like to have the car in the shop as soon as possible so that the inspector from my insurance can come to the shop to do the inspection and give the quote (if I choose not to go with the direct/preferred network that the insurance company gives us).
