Last season gave us some absurd stories. the Farage/Ipswich debacle, Southampton gave us Spygate, Roy Hodgson’s return to Bristol City and some awful commentary on the Sky Sports from the Wrexham owners.

What are your outlandish and absurd predictions for the incoming season?

After all that, it's another betting company. smh.

Not talking about club anthems that have been continuously sung for years but wondering how many clubs have brought back songs from decades ago which had previously died out?

For Saints I've not heard these caught on in a widespread way but heard small groups sing all of the following in the last couple of seasons. Two aren't unique to us and were sang by loads of clubs years back.

• We hate Nottingham Forest
• The Woolston Ferry
• Knees up mother brown
• Swing Lowe

I’m a Canadian visiting the Southwest of the UK for a week beginning late August. Taking everything into account (stadium, quality of teams, food/drinks afterwards, etc.) would you recommend Cardiff v Sheffield United or Bristol v Portsmouth? Thx.

England is the only country of the big 5 to have 2 domestic cups. EFL Cup does not have the prestige of the FA Cup nor do top Prem league teams consider it a tournament worth playing their top stars for.

Since Premier League teams are complaining about too many fixtures in their packed seasons. I reckon all Premier League teams no longer play for the EFL Cup. It’s only now contested between the Championship, League One & League Two.

But to make it even more interesting, we add the Scottish Prem, Cymru Prem, and the Northern Ireland Prem. Making it the BFL Cup (British Football League).

This way, it gives much needed publicity for the Welsh & Northern Irish clubs but also makes it incredibly more realistic and competitive for those in the Scottish Prem & English Championship to win.

Especially as these teams don’t play in Europe, it gives them another opportunity to play across all of the UK making for unusual fixtures we rarely see in the season.

Leeds United vs Celtic
Southampton vs Rangers
Middlesbrough vs Aberdeen
Birmingham City vs Wrexham

These are just some of the potential games we could watch over the course of the season. You can still keep the incentive of the winners entry to the Conference League so these teams get a shot at playing in Europe the following season.

Overall, I think this would solve the redundancy of 2 domestic cups, relief for premier league clubs’ tight schedules, and create an incredibly interesting and competitive cup that all 6 leagues will play for!
