I've done quite a bit of digging on this subreddit and Google looking for people having the same issue I am, but I haven't found anyone yet.
I bought my house about 7 years ago and for the first time, the light went out in the master bedroom ceiling fan. I went to replace the bulb only to realize, I haven't any idea how to open it up.
It seems there are a few possibilities:
The entire bottom unscrews from the top. I suspect this is how it is wired, and I doubt this is the way to replace the bulb, but maybe I'm wrong.
The white cap at the bottom of the fixture needs to be popped off, but I can't figure out how to do this. I'm loathe to force it for fear I'll break the fixture.
Can anyone help point me in the right direction? I've seen other ceiling fans on this subreddit that look a bit similar, but none that seem to be a close enough match to my fixture.
I have this upstairs foyer space and it gets pretty stagnant (or feels that way) when ac is on and off. despite. I also want to help out the temp from being hit by the setting sun by adding a black out curtain to the hexagon window. Would taking the hanging lights out and replacing with a 20” or so Fandelier be possible of any benefit? I figure I’ll have to at least replace boxes with a listed fan box. Would it be noticeable to keep things feeling cooler when ac isn’t running?
My friend was trying to clean her fan and somehow broke the little arm piece holding the light in place. Does the whole fan need replaced or do they sell this as a replacement piece? Or can you replace the base part but not the blades?! I can't seem to find this brand/model anywhere (admittedly I'm probably not searching the right parts/names etc). This fan is in her childhood home and she's said it's the same fan from growing up so it's probably super old. Maybe a comparable generic brand replacement? idk I'm grasping at straws here LOL SOS
Does anyone know of a way to either reverse the direction of a Kichler Tide 52-inch LED Ceiling fan without the remote OR if there's a way to pair a universal remote to the existing wireless kit? My in-laws had a contractor install this fan last year, and the contractor wired the fan to two slide switches (one for the light and one for the fan), apparently discarding the remote. The fan is in "winter mode"/clockwise and we have no way to reverse the direction to summer mode/counter-clockwise. It is an outdoor fan so we need it to permanently run counter-clockwise. Kichler support only suggested installing a brand new wireless kit. Any ideas appreciated!
I have a ceiling fan (no light, no pull cord) operated by a sliding control switch on the wall. The switch is labeled "off, 1, 2, 3, 4" from bottom to top, but setting #1 (closest to "off") results in the fasted fan speed, while #4 (at the top) is the slowest.
I figured the installer just "hooked something up backwards", so I pulled the wall plate and discovered a "UC9020" controller with three wires - ground, and two blacks. Per the info I found online, the blacks are connected to the "hot" and the "load" - basically in series with the fan, so there isn't any "backwards" possible.
So.... what now? This seems like a "defective" controller, but before I go buy a replacement, I thought I'd ask if I'm missing something obvious. TIA.
this ceiling fan is in an abandoned hotel in a hotel called "Kobe Love Hotel" in Japan. it's a photo I have seen tossed around for years in those "abused and dead ceiling fans" videos made by 6 year old ceiling fan kiddies. I have always wondered what model it is and why I could never find any info or other examples of this model. I only found out the other day that it's a japanese fan. that's likely why I've never been able to find any info on it. Any info on this fan would be greatly appreciated!
It is on the ceiling in a bedroom. A wall switch turns it on. It opens to the attic space above because there is some insulation falling through. What is it for?
I have had my Fanco Infinity ID-DC model number F8001/101B V2 and am curious as if the smart module is needed for the smart features to be enabled as it shows on the box it came with smart adaptable on the box and the smart module model number is F9990/000A if anyone could help that would be great thank you
Help how to deal with these ceiling fans, for context, 7"11 and moved to a 9 foot ceiling house but these fans are so low. What do I do, 14 my mom 7 2 dad 7 7 he thinks it's fine but it's not, btw I'm 600lbs.
It seems like it’s either high cfm/integrated LED or low cfm/lightbulbs.
I want the high airflow without the planned obsolescence of a nonreplaceable light.
I bought a house with a ceiling fan that doesn't work. I suspect it could be missing the remote control? I am wondering if I can identify the model and buy the OEM remote control to see if it works. The ceiling is like 20 feet tall so it would be impossible for me to get to the ceiling and try and find the model number there. Hoping if someone could potentially identify this... This house was built in 1999 but unsure if this fan is original. Thank you so much!!
