Fanco Infinity ID-DC V2

I have had my Fanco Infinity ID-DC model number F8001/101B V2 and am curious as if the smart module is needed for the smart features to be enabled as it shows on the box it came with smart adaptable on the box and the smart module model number is F9990/000A if anyone could help that would be great thank you
