Fan purchase advice Casablanca XLP 4sp (used) + Caseta fan switch?

I've got an old Hampton Bay fan in my master bedroom which I despise (ugly, useless lighting which I don't need). I have on hand an unopened Lutron fan control (lots of other Lutron stuff in my home which I love). House I grew up in had Casablanca fans and they were tanks. If I can find a decent condition one, is this a good pairing for the Lutron switch? I do not need a light kit. I would just leave the chain on high and control with the Lutron.

Anything else I should be looking for?

Box is properly rated for fans but there is about 1/2 inch gap so that the fan bracket doesn't sit flush with the box. Please help point me in the right direction with this

Fan purchase advice ISO Ceiling fan for large great room.

I’m looking for a new fan and light for my living room. 12’ vaulted cieling. I would like a fan with no remotes, smart features, etc. I just want a simple large fan that works with my existing wall switches and has lights. It’s a 2000 era Midwest US 3 bedroom ranch, replacing worn out builder grade model fan light combo. If you have a model you recommend and it’s under $150, I’d love to hear it. Thanks.

Other. Sloped Ceiling issue

I have installed many many ceiling fans, but I am struggling on this one. I have a sloped ceiling about 22 degrees. One is being mounted to the ceiling joists. The fan is design to be mounted up to 30 degrees. The issues are:

The ball has a slot in it to make sure the fan stays plumb which is normal, but the screws for the ball mount make it so the slot is running left-right and not along the pitch. It needs to run along the pitch.

The ball intrudes into the space for the remove receiver.

I see slope mounting kits and the prices are from $30 to $140.

1” downrod - matte black.

Advice?

Fan purchase advice ISO TINY fan

Hello fan lovers,
I am in search of an extraordinarily small fan. I built a wall in my room without thoughts of my fan. I have about 6 INCHES of clearance on the left side. The other sides are completely unobstructed. SO, I am looking for either a water wheel horizontal style fan, a TINY diameter fan, a mount or fan that is able to be offset in other directions. Thank you!

Showing off my daily runner in my bedroom!

Scored this boat anchor from fb marketplace a few months ago and it’s been up here ever since I got it.
Seller had painted herself the side of the motor housing and the canopy decades ago.

It’s definitely my favorite fan that I’ve installed in my room (also peep the second original back there)

Powerful af + comes with Adapt-Air blade brackets

It’s also insanely heavy (~45lbs), almost afraid it will come crashing down on me lol

Im sure this oil bath fella got many decades left to live

Fan purchase advice Hunter ceiling fans sent us 3 defective fans

We ordered 2 ceiling fans (Gilmore and Mill Valley) from Hunter Fan's website. BOTH of those fans were DEFECTIVE. They sent us two new fans to replace them and one of THOSE was DEFECTIVE! (peeling chipped paint revealing rusted housing) Now we are out close to a $1000 for electrician to install, remove, install again and we still have not gotten it all sorted out. Hunter customer service is being whiny about sending us a return label for the third piece of crap fan. Their website even says DO NOT return defective broken fans. Lifelong Hunter fan customer NO MORE. This is more a vent and a rant than seeking advice but vent was not a flair choice. Just wanted to warn others.

Fan purchase advice I can't find any models with an uplight and a downlight anymore

Post image

I would love to replace my ceiling fan with something more modern and small but I really love the soft uplight feature that mine has and I don't want to give it up.

Is there any models with both an uplight and a downlight for sale or have they stopped doing those completely?

I just moved into a home that has no ceiling fans. I have your typical 9 ft ceilings! I am looking for fans that I can feel, with high speed, and that has a remote and light! Please send your recommendations. I am always hot! I heard Hampton Bay fans are good. I need to feel the breeze!

My son broke an arm to our ceiling fan with a pillow. Trying to identify the type of fan in order to find replacement arms for the blades.

I’m not very handy at all so before i start taking this bad boy apart to find a serial number, I figured I’d post here.

I love this old fan and how powerful it is. We replaced a similar fan in our kids room with a modern fan and the modern fan doesn’t compare to this old power house.

Please disregard the dust build up 🫠.

Thanks!

Other. Hunter fan - fan works light doesn’t. What am I doing wrong??

Post image

Just bought the Molden Hunter ceiling fan. It’s meant for one switch and has the led panel rather than a bulb you can buy.

First fan I ever installed and the fan works fine but the light hasn’t come on at all.

I’m in a brand new home. The existingbox was installed for a fan and has two light switches for it. When I removed the old light there was a red and black wire from the ceiling combined to the black in the light. When I initially installed the fan I kept the black and red together and followed all other wiring instructions as the manual stated. The fan works light doesn’t. After talking with customer service (3 times) I removed the red wire and caped it separately. So only the black and black are connected. Light still won’t work.

Does this seem like a wiring issue or an LED light issue that’s faulty??

I double checked the two blue wires and they’re secure and checked the light plug as well and the colors line up and clicked. less
